  1. Knew we’d intercept one but Dolan makes the wrong choice there, him and Hedges look our most likely route to goal though Buckley should be off at half time
  2. Ayala a little lucky there after hanging out a leg, great interception from Pickering to rescue us
  3. Remember us nearly signing Kipre, looks pretty agile if a little overly ambitious
  4. I was just thinking I fancy us to knick one as they pass it around the back and then they do it to us and nearly go 1-0 up
  5. Tin hat time - I remember once going mad at Tugay, even giving him a hearty booing I want to say Middlesbrough at home, he got two of the laziest and most pointless bookings you could see, one was a handball for no reason on the edge of their box and was sent off before half time, we got battered. Still a bonafide legend and icon
  6. I think Barry ‘homesick’ Ferguson was up there as well there was a time when everyone seemed to cost £5m I bet we didn’t pay much less for the likes of Nathan Blake
  7. Another I just remembered Amine Linganzi, I remember when we signed him I sat up and took note because @unleaded was positive about him after previously advocating for Steven Nzonzi! Looked a player with potential but hardly got near the team and went onto a career with lower league teams including Accrington. A similar story with Yann Songo’o - the only thing I recall about him is that whilst he never played, Savio (formerly of this parish but rarely seen now) had his name on the back of his shirt in what must surely be a one of a kind garment!
  8. Who was the lad that we had on loan, played for wolves and then we decided not to sign him and he went to Burnley and got them promoted? I want to say Dave Jones but could be way off there Anyone remember Raffaelle De Vita - Italian lad coming through in the early 2000’s with high hopes but another like the Jimmy Corbett’s, Jemal Johnson’s and Robbie Cotton’s of the world!
  9. That’s the perfect tonic, really tough game on paper and through with flying colours 5 wins 4 losses and up to 3rd, bonkers considering some of the shocking results along the way!
  10. Brilliant from Dolan and delighted for Hedges he’s deserved that recently
  11. An expected move, one that will have no long term bearing on any of us. Hope Joe Bloggs is doing ok
  12. It’s a round of fixtures, we’ll cope if they are postponed, whether you liked, loved, respected, hated or were indifferent to the Queen and the royal family it’s a moment of huge significance and real history of the country and there was always going to be a period of official mourning
  13. Pleased for Dolan to get a great goal and assist but sounds like that’s where any positives stop Seem’s that goal and assist gone unmentioned by his critics mind
  14. Goulon played in the hammering at old Trafford Bryan Dabo came on loan and never got a game but went onto some ok clubs after he left Remember the keeper Gregor Samiderski (or similar) who looked great for one game at the end of the season but then moved on
  15. If only we had a left back like Ryan Giles Brilliant run down the left and cross just now to put Boro 1-0 up at Watford
  16. Markanday surely deserves a go here, done all that’s asked of him in cup games and the competition isn’t pulling up any trees
  17. Got to be honest whilst some of the signings seem the right kind of idea (Brittain and Hyam) if these were Mowbray signings I’d be moaning about a lack of imagination. All the links seem to be from the English leagues, you’d hope we’d be unearthing some gems from a little further afield. Seems to be players that have agents working for moves rather than us having a clear plan.
  18. Definitely not true (remember him getting man of the match in a high scoring win over reading once), but it won’t be far off, we definitely had a much worse record with him in compared to Nyambe
  19. A recent one for me is the late Peter Whittingham, seemed a real statement signing early in the window and plenty, me included were convinced he’d be brilliant. I can’t remember a single thing from him on the pitch for us! Tragic waste of a young life after he left
  20. Gordon isn’t great from what I’ve seen, reminds me of Butterworth (obviously better) - maybe just because he looks a bit like him but often seems busy but without finishing much; bit greedy too
  21. Yordi was a good one, made his debut with his floppy hair in the league cup final, looked decent, then didn’t do much else Always thought Hakan Unsal and Sebastian Perez could have done more here in different circumstances
  22. Well that’s just an awful result Huge week now in the transfer window
