Wigan (a), FA Cup 3rd Round, 8/1/21
Tom replied to Admiral Nelsen's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Glad it’s a strong side out, a cup run would be useful as potentially one league game less that Diaz would miss along with Pickering -
He’s so unlucky, hope it’s not too bad

Basically he’s decent at crossing so people overlook the rest of what is needed for the role Not half the player Nyambe is for me- 7479 replies

Without going into Buckley’s increased girth he’s been a joy to watch this season, and I was far from convinced on him previously as he was too often a passenger. He’s matured and grown into the role, his intelligence and how he’s always on the half then makes him a real asset. I thought he was really quite poor yesterday and it highlighted how much he makes us tick when on form picking the ball up on the turn and picking a pass. The guys have done a great job with him, reminds me of somewhat a Berkovic / Tugay hybrid, if he ends up half as good as either he’ll be awesome At the moment he’s not a 90 minute player and is a bit silly with his fouls but he’ll get there. I thought mowbrays comments on him a little odd, apparently his Mrs tackles more than him but we’ve seen he puts a lot of tackles in

Nyambe was solid as a rock today, yes he made the wrong decision attacking a couple of times but who didn’t? They were all guilty of indecision around the box and not being brave enough at times Also the talk is of the blatant red for the foul on Dolan but huge credit has to go to Dolan there as is he isn’t alert it’s a goal for them it was actually a brilliant piece of tracking

And the only punishment will be for Rovers for showing the replay on the big screen -

One of those days where we never seemed like scoring after the first 20 None of our creative players got going Rothwell in particular very poor. He and Buckley make us tick and neither could find a pass today and the subs struggled to make an impact Overall a good point in the circumstances -

They can sense a goal 0-0 isn’t looking too unappealing at the moment -

We started on fire but didn’t capitalise and then started playing against the ref Edgy; we need to get out on the front foot and take it to them -

Apparently the first time Clarkson hasn’t been in the squad since he came, surprising that considering how little he’s got on Hopefully back to Liverpool -
I think Nyambe and Rothwell will move on if we don’t go up, always randomly expected Nyambe to go to Bournemouth Our form may help if we keep it up, I think both of them will attract clubs towards the top of this league but not the premier league, however when there’s only 2 teams above you we seem a more attractive option
-
Make no mistake at the minute we will be the team the others are nervous about
-
Anyone else a grumpy old man about this new trend of people sending their kids onto the pitch at the end to beg for a shirt?
-
I think it’s generous to suggest we had a goal disallowed given how early he blew his whistle and the time that passed, not everybody stopped but certainly some did
-
Say it quietly but with Fulham not playing till Monday we will be at least 2nd should we beat Huddersfield May as well assume they score 1 with the nailed on Rhodes goal but we should have enough to overcome them Not long since we were excited at the prospect of entering the top 6 even for a couple of hours, now we have a 10 point buffer
-
I would have removed him at the end of last season, I would have also removed him a handful of games into league one. He’s absolutely proved me wrong, if this goes sour it’s been brilliant to have the belief and hope back. The owners need to back him now if he wants to spend in January, if he wants a new contract he’s got it on merit.
-
Huge win, it’s one that if we let it slip we’d be complaining that teams with ambitions of promotion find ways to win, and we did just that There’s a real belief around, genuinely no reason why we can’t do this
-
Unbelievable stuff, great hall by Bucko and Diaz miscontrolled it into a chance Well done to those on the bet
-
Bloody hell Bucko that’s a shocker
-
Ref blew his whistle 5 times I’m surprised half the ground didn’t notice before Reda finished

Premier League season 21/22
Tom replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It’s a farce this, again a team with a couple of big injuries in the first team suddenly have a game off, just so happens to be a team who will likely spend big in a weeks time so will have a totally different squad available for the new fixture -
Awful, really feel for fans that have lost a huge chunk of Boxing Day on the road for nothing Be keen to know if these are all confirmed cases / isolating or if embellished by ‘injuries’ like Everton Gut feeling is a few players missing and then flesh it out to avoid having to play with a weakened team
