Newcastle United away in the League Cup
LDRover replied to philipl's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Really poor that but the buck stops with Nyambe. Is too deep in the wonky defensive line and rather than go with the runner steps up for offside. It's down to the 2 full backs to get that line right as they can see right across - poor from Nyambe that. -
Now that is a good piece of transfer news, I'd say he's the nasty, cynical bugger we've been crying out for. Credit to Mowbray on this one, let's hope he gets him in the side straight away with none of this 'bedding in'.
-
Where you been 1864? A commercial?
-
He's one hell of a talent but 50 million is stretching it a bit. Mind you if Chilwell can go for 60 million I can see why.
-
Completely agree with the point in bold. I'm a big fan of Holtby and think he's a cut above at this level but he does disappear around the hour mark. Also noticed you've not dug Travis out on the 1st goal? He was equally culpable with Johnson but seems to get a free pass. I think his form has flat lined since lockdown and he needs to pick it up quickly as we need him on it.
-
No need to Paul, I posted as such so it's there whatever the outcome.
-
I believe he's stewing over it as Rovers have lost their appeel. Chances are it'll get canned.
-
Why give Travis a free pass here Davul? He is our all action enforcer yet was just as culpable, especially on the first goal.
-
He was injured in October and missed one game before returning. If it took Mowbray 6 months to realise he'd 'lost confidence' (which is complete guesswork on your part) it reflects pretty badly on him. The four games he was dropped for were the last time he wore a Rovers shirt , on the bench. Good management decision? Appreciated by Raya? Bollocks.
-
4 of them at the end of the season when he was dropped (following a win at Forest) for no apparent reason. So you're wrong.
-
I was and can back it up with posts from that time should I need to. Mind you, there's not many who can spot a player like I can to be fair ;0)
-
Think you need to watch it again. He's pressing the ball and as soon as it is squared sprints to close down from where the ball came from. There were 2 other centre mids in Johnson and Travis who were hiding in the back line and made no attempt at all to pressure the goalscorer. Edit - Arma is 5 yards away from Stacey when he receives the ball and doesn't even move while Holtby makes 15 yards up having defended a short corner. I'd assume Arma got a bollocking for that.
-
Holtby was the only player who attempted to close down the first goal and I thought Travis had dropped in next to the centre halves there too? Might be mistaken though?
-
The thing is, we all know Bell is shite but, I'm telling you now, he'll stick Benno in there rather than bring a replacement in.
-
Superb from Nyambe there and a great turn and finish from Armstrong.
-
Was that Johnson who just let the guy turn there? Fucking abysmal.
-
Why are there 7 players on the edge of the box marking nobody? Got to be closing down there.
-
I can't recall ever hearing that a club performed 2 consecutive (3 if Kipre had one) medicals yet failed to sign any of the players? Not sure I'm having that.
-
Think his Dad still lives in the houses just further down from Blackburn Golf Club where he has a small private sports physio studio.
-
Indeed it is. A lot of history rewriting too, conveniently forgetting that he was dropped for Leutwiler for no apparent reason at the end of his time here. I'd have wanted to leave if I was him based on that alone. I wasn't shy in saying he'd end up in one of Europe's top leagues within a couple of years after we sold him last season as he had all the attributes to be a top keeper IF well coached. Good luck to him.
-
Indeed, last year was a shocker. Ended up with half a defence and goalkeeping department with a 12 month sticking plaster on it.
-
I'd go with 6 Len.
-
Domino effect? Does that mean we'll continue knocking and have a count up at the end when we get no-one?
-
It would've served us better if we'd been dicked at Leicester. Mowbray will be using Magloire's shutting down of Vardy as reason not to bring anyone in.
-
Euro scouting network in place, cash available, footballing CH needed to fit in with the 'philosophy'....and we're scratching around for an old boy clogger on loan from Norwich a week before the season starts. It's laughable.
