[Archived] Champions League

God Fiorentina had some real quality back then, I remember watching Batigol and the rest often on football Italia on channel 4. -

Liverpool currently 2-0 down against a decent Fiorentina side, 19 year old Jovetic with both goals. Rangers losing 2-0 to Sevilla. Arsenal currently 0-0 with Olympiakos. -
Rumours of a 2011 release, nothing concrete as far as i know. There was some talk of the Riddler or Catwoman featuring, Megan Fox being touted as a possible Catwoman.

[Archived] Hooligans Yet Again
RibbleValleyRover replied to soueyisgod's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Anyone worried that the FA may be a bit lenient on West Ham and Millwall but fire a warning that the next club or clubs involved in any hooliganism will be severely punished? If our match with the dingles has any trouble whatsoever even small-time compared to the West Ham-Millwall violence the FA could really crack down if they have made a warning over future hooliganism. -

West Ham should be kicked out of the competition and there should be fines for both clubs. Whatever the punishment will be it won't go far enough because of this man: -

Finally bought 'Walking on a Dream' by 'Empire of the Sun'. Excellent album IMO. 'We Are The People' is the real stand out track on it. -

Depends if Hargreaves comes back from his injuries, he can play that role. He's the sort of player they could have done with tonight. -
lol I can imagine some of the diehard trek geeks moaning about the film and boycotting it over the silliest of things. On one of the trek forums for example there is a group of people who won't watch it because Sulu wields the wrong type of sword in the film. I have all the movies and TV series on DVD, I’m a big fan of sci-fi and I’m definitely going to see it.

Has anyone seen the new Trek film yet? Going to see it sometime this week.

[Archived] Citeh To Sack Barton?
RibbleValleyRover replied to LeChuck's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Hugely talented in my opinion but thats overshadowed and negated by being a complete nutcase. If someone could calm him down or he could mature and finally cut the stupid antics then he would be a player that a lot of clubs would be interested in signing. If he didn't come with all that baggage i would definitely have him at Rovers, he's the sort of player skills wise we could do with. But i can't see him changing so its best to stay well clear. -

Speaking of great players, how great is Essien? Bloody superb player and IMO the most complete central midfielder in the world. -

Both players told they will never play for Scotland again: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/7981287.stm And rightly so IMO. -
Holy s**t, seriously looking forward to seeing this.

I don't know if this thread is just for current films only or not, but i watched a film called Zatōichi (came out in 2003) for the first time the other day and i thought it was excellent. Anyone else seen it?

[Archived] Benni Mccarthy - Gone
RibbleValleyRover replied to adam lodge's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Just read on the official site that it was his 100th game for Rovers, not a bad way to mark it thats for sure. I think Sam should and will stick with Benni and Roberts going into the next game. He shows he has the hunger and drive back and clearly wants to give his all on the pitch. If Benni can keep scoring goals then it will greatly help in our battle against relegation. -

I believe it was off a famous quote by the american journalist and author Hunter S Thompson that 'America was raising a generation of dancers'. From Yahoo answers: "Hunter S. Thompson meant that the US was making people afraid of stepping out of place and following their own beat. He was saying that people were only following the steps they were taught, and were also taught not to change them. In the song "Human" one of the lines is "Some times I get nervous when I see an open door". By this he meant that he is afraid to take different opportunities when they are presented to him, because living in the US has made us all afraid to go against what we've thought for all our lives. That is what Thompson." A search for Hunter S Thompson and Dancers might find some more information about it. -

Not exactly the best source, but if true i think it deserves mentioning: South Africa's leading goal scorer is not happy with being sidelined as he told the Sowetan newspaper on Thursday. "We have played three games and I featured in only two as a substitute. It does not look like I will play much this season," he is quoted by the South African daily. and It seems though his tribulations with coaches is beginning again. "My problems at the club started when Paul Ince walked in," the former Ajax Amsterdam player said. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the English Premiership club said on Tuesday he was not match-fit and over-weight "and that is basically why he has not been in the Premiership line-ups this season". McCarthy hit back at the report saying: "There is no such thing as being overweight, people must just come and watch me play against Nigeria on Saturday if I'm selected to play." I see Derbs has had to pull out of the Under 21's with a groin strain, though they are hopeful that he will be fit in time for the Arsenal game. You would assume Benni Mac may have to play against Arsenal if Roque and Derbs don't recover in time. -
RIP Jack Gone but not forgotten!
