v Stoke City (h) - 18/4/22

Well this run has made the pain of losing all the out of contract players a lot easier to deal with. I'm not sure how much longer I can put myself through all this, I'm not arsed about losing its part of football. Seeing an entire football club not give a flying fuck about losing is what I can't deal with. -

Well I'll give the team some credit for their goal, they've shared the responsibility for an absolutely hideous goal to concede. No closing down, Wharton losing his man then Kaminski charging out to get no where near the ball and opening up 90% of his goal. Christ!! -

We all know this is a game we win today, the gap to the play offs stays 2 points. The hope builds again then we put in a horrific performance at Preston live on TV in another punch to the gut. -

I can't help but think in years to come we will still be scratching our heads at just how spectacularly we have royally fu*ked up this season. It is absolutely staggering!! It is an achievement to have been as bad as what we have been since Christmas. I will say it until I'm Blue in the face, Fulham good ... EVERYBODY else easily beatable. We can say this squad isn't good enough to get in the play offs, neither are anybody else except maybe Bournemouth. We have lacked any craft from the coaching squad for the last month or so, and guts from the team. Both are equally as unforgivable!! -

Pathetic -
In another industry Dyche would have been packed off to HQ for a couple of months and they'd have tried a new chap at the helm to try and save the season. Football doesn't work like that and this seems crazy!

Attendances: A cause for concern
cesus replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
In an area as deprived as this, I don't think you can rule out just how many people have the dodgy firesticks. I wouldn't have to dig too much to get my hands on one, £40-£50 a year is very appealing to people with not a lot of spare cash. For me nothing beats watching a game live but I certainly think rather large numbers of people watch matches from their own front rooms now. -
These are the times that "break" supporters. Let's make no bones about it, the standard in this league bar Fulham has been absolute shite this season. We only needed a tiny bit of outlay and enterprise to be sitting comfortably in the play offs and gearing up for the most exciting time in Rovers recent history. What we have was, well today, a local Derby that was played in the spirit of a dead rubber between 17th and 18th in the league.

Exactly this. Also there sat a young lad on the bench who is as fast as a bullet who will have charged all those long punts forward into the corner. That guy wasn't Hedges, if the plan was to soak up the pressure the option would surely have been Johnson. -

The trainers were on loads today, maybe I've not noticed it before this season, but the ref let all the treatment be done on the pitch even if it was a standing injury. I always thought they went off and the game cracked on, but today loads seemed to be done on the pitch. -

Agreed it never gets followed up, but the bugger did today and it bit us on the arse. -

The strange thing with all the time wasting was the ref kept telling the players he was going to add the time on. The extra rest was good for Coventry as they were building up energy levels. At the end we had Rothwell, Dack and Nyambe who could barely move. -

If anything sums up our 2nd half of the season is we loan in Giles who is known for having the best distribution in the league. Signs for us and can barely pass to our men! -

Coventry are simply moving into space and wanting the ball. We take every ball stood still more often than not facing the wrong way. Woeful!! -

"We don't need any more strikers, I have no concerns" Tony Mowbray after the transfer window closed January 2022. Fuck me! -

We can only pin any sort of hope now on BBD and Dack hitting the ground running ASAP. I still believe we are not going to concede many and history shows Dack WILL score goals. Unfortunately I think it will be too little too late. For my absolute fury at lack of strikers and Sam Gallaghers weak performances, the defence like for the vast majority of playing 5 at the back looked superb again. -

We've got far bigger problems than Buckley but put Dack in his place for some of those sitters he has had this season and I reckon we are 6-10 points better off. -
I see, I knew people had but must have missed the foreign club bit.
-
What are the chances Nyambe has already signed a contract elsewhere? I mean I'm not in the know but surely he could have signed one for somebody else already as under the rules he is perfectly entitled to.
-
For me not adding a striker after finding out Markanday was out for the season literally put a gun to our own head. I still cannot forget the feeling as the window closed and we hadn't begged, stole or borrowed any striking options and thought surely Brereton can't keep scoring goal after goal. I hear Mowbray talk about needing to keep encouraging the young players and them being a bit naive. I actually think the vast majority of the team are still doing their jobs as well as before this slump. The club/manager has stitched up the team by not giving them a goal scorer to help.

Agree with the point about the Swans defence, it shows a flaw in us not playing an out and out striker when their defence can give the ball away 35 yards from their goal on multiple occasions and they aren't punished. -

There is a clear blueprint to have success against us and it is to sit deep and give us the ball. Charging deep runs from Rothwell and Khadra become impossible, and getting it out wide whipping balls in is only effective when our centre halves are in the box. Them going down to 10 yesterday killed us, we just ended up playing from a standing position and everybody getting in each others way. Khadra and Giles being on the same side was absolutely pointless as they were both there to play the final ball. It all just looked so disorganised, highlighted by 4 players trying to take a throw with 10 minutes to go. As a few others have said playing better teams who will attack may actually be the best thing for us in the upcoming games. -
January Transfer Deadline Day 2022
cesus replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We are stronger now than we were in August, when I dare say the majority of us thought we would be relegated/in a battle this season. Financially for us it hasn't helped that our highest earner and probably best players hasn't kicked a ball for us for a year.
