I’m wondering if Ismael is the recommendation of the member of the hierarchy who is feeding Mr Nixon with information, (which someone clearly is). Maybe (🤞) he has not yet been accepted by the other power brokers in our bonkers committee.

I think the grief Eustace initially got was more to do with the fact he was seen as a Waggott appointment. I can only speak for myself, but that news pleasantly surprised me, and it felt like a good fit. All I can say is , you have to go with what your heart and head tell you. I felt like this when Ince and Coyle were appointed, and when Lancashire Cricket appointed Dale Benkenstein, (maybe google it), and my worst fears were realised on all three occasions. I will definitely give him every chance to prove me wrong, and sincerely hope that he does.

Welcome to the forum, Mrs Ismael. Hope you enjoy some lovely meals with Mr and Mrs Gestede 😉
-
Absolutely not. There was talk of him at the beginning of the process to replace Mowbray, and the reaction was almost universally positive. Farke had one previous job in England in which he'd done very well.
-
Before Coyle became a similarly busted flush, he actually managed to win the Play Offs. Did that make him a good appointment? No. Unemployed for almost a year having failed miserably at WBA and Watford. A rigorous selection process for this !

A decent jolly to London, perhaps?

Okay, I understand that point of view, but this a particular set of circumstances, and there is no need to look beyond the end of this season. Warnock has lots of experience of promotion run - ins, and of English football clubs, and would be well suited to the situation, in my view. On the short - term basis we are looking at, I believe he would fit in and adapt far more quickly than the likes of Ismael and Wagner. I can see either of those two attempting to reinvent our playing style immediately, and that could prove highly problematic. Get a suitable, oven ready manager for the here and now, and then reassess in the Summer, depending on the circumstances.
-
I reckon he’ll end up back at Rangers.
-
I heard that guy who is manager of Huncoat was first choice, but turned us down because Huncoat is a better long term project.
-
No. A couple of busted flushes languishing on the scrap heap.
-
So after a rigorous, drawn out process, the net result is one of two desperados plucked from the scrap heap.
-
I'm not convinced about January, but I agree they are working within tight restraints.
-
Maybe, but I always felt that Park was the one who knew what he was doing. Too many cooks when a well paid, decent head chef is what we need.
-
Fair points, but given our current league position, and the counter balance of the contract situation, (a ticking bomb), that’s why I believe a senior, high calibre manager until the end of the season would’ve made sense.
-
I reckon he’s on the forum payroll to keep the place busy 😉

We can afford to pay the wages of hangers on, like Owen and Gestede, but can’t afford to pay the going rate for a decent head coach. Here we are, yet again, in a position where the right decision and a bit of ambition might lead to the promised land. Will we make the right decision? Probably not, and another opportunity will have been spurned. I know Eustace isn’t blameless, but a manager seeing a club in serious danger of relegation (from the same Division) as a better bet really does say it all.
-
Ah, but our billionaire owners never refuse a request for funds, don't you know? 😉
-
He'll need to be a bloody miracle worker with a huge turnover of players fast approaching.
-
Hey, he said it.
-
Yes, the agents of desperados will be on the blower to Waggott today, for sure. A harsh reality check.

Well at least it should dampen the temptation to give it to Lowe. Our caretaker manager bounce has finished, now we need some new manager bounce. Otherwise it’ll be time to say “we’re only x points from the play offs” ad - nauseam, until May. -

and we all know what famous bottle - jobs Leeds are at the business end of the season. -
……and so begins another round of “Who hired JDT and Eustace?” to keep us all entertained until kick off 😉

I thought he meant Gestede? Pasha is the master, not the slave 😉
