  1. Unfortunately, it is no surprise they did not take their chances. That’s what happens when you send out a team without a likely / recognised goal scorer.
  2. When I read the team sheet, ‘nil’ was the goal tally that readily sprang to mind. It’s great that we’re in any way involved in the promotion shake up, but incredibly frustrating when we’re told that we passed up on the opportunity of bringing in a striker. As others have said, we’re far to dependent on Diaz to score, and a decent addition could’ve made all the difference. The goals for column in recent matches says it all. Hopefully, Diaz will stay fit and rediscover his mojo, and Dack’s rehabilitation will soon be complete, but we’re now dropping points because of a very poor decision in the transfer window.
  3. Nail on the head. For a good while, the team picked itself and Tony managed to stop himself from meddling. That was never going to carry on indefinitely, and instead of using common sense and getting a (fit and available) striker in to give us a Plan B, Tony let his ego run away with him and expects us to walk the ball into the net.
  4. I think not signing a genuine striker before the deadline may well come back to haunt us.
  5. Not sure about that, but totally sure I don’t want a bloke who wasn’t good enough for PNE, (Neil).
  6. Their owner has tweeted that two players will be leaving this evening. Obviously, that doesn’t necessarily mean one will be Dembele, or that he would be coming to us, but you never know……
  7. How many other professional sports clubs are sponsored by a company that produces a nicotine based product? It's 2022. Some folk in power at Ewood should be in the next series of Life On Mars.
  8. Probably, yes. Seems a decent enough guy, but he just reports the official line and never attempts to dig any deeper.
  9. The annual fight against promotion, when the old transfer deadline day used to come and go without addition 🙂
  10. If it was Travis, rather than Rothwell, I would agree with you. It all comes down to if / how Rothwell is replaced.
  11. We could do with someone who offers a goal threat from free kicks. That is something we clearly lack.
  12. So, if true, Mowbray has presumably persuaded the owners to sell in order to sign the replacements he alluded to yesterday. If we sell without a replacement(s), that would be very poor.
  13. Yes. Why would you say that if there was no chance of it happening?
  14. From what Mowbray was quoted as saying yesterday, it would appear that we have.
  15. …….but they are bigger, so the risk of spread is magnified. Germany has already restricted attendances.
  16. As I said, I’m not debating the rights and wrongs, just speculating on what decisions might be made. Not everyone arrives early and it’s still a situation where a lot of people will be gathering in close proximity. I’m sure they will be looking at it, (mass attendance sports venues).
  17. Not debating the rights and wrongs, but although you are outside watching the game, you are still coming in to close contact with other people, especially when using facilities inside the stadium, (Riverside excepted). The Liverpool v Atletico Madrid Champions League game in March 2020 was linked to a number of cases. Maybe they will limit numbers rather than imposing a total ban?
  18. It’s not just about this season. It’s about a number of seasons and a pattern. Away support doesn’t help the club’s finances. The home attendances are amongst the worst in the league. When people like Parson are saying they no longer care, and long termers like myself are no longer going, you know there are serious problems. Even with ten men against a decent side, a seven nil home defeat is disgraceful. The club badly needs a change of direction, and short of new owners, the manager would be that change. We need someone to voice intent and ambition, even if it might be a while before those intentions can be realised.
  19. Valerien Ismael is not on the scrap heap. Chris Hughton’s CV is still far better than Mowbray’s. Most seasoned managers fail with at least one club. McCarthy, I agree. Time he packed it in, which he probably realises himself. Robbins has done a fantastic job at a club with problems arguably even worse than ours. I’d take him in a heartbeat. When the Rovers Trust is briefing against a manager, you know he is fighting a losing battle. Mowbray, (and his mate Waggott), are emptying the ground and it’s now clearly becoming toxic and beyond the point of no return. Wednesday night signalled a clear warning that serious decline is imminent under this manager. Time for a fresh start and to appoint someone who will enthuse, re-unite and engage the supporters, (and, yes, I know they will probably get it wrong again).
  20. My attitude is forged from realism. I don’t want to be at Ewood almost wishing for a defeat for it to kick off against Mowbray, because that is what it would need for any real dissent to be vented. I don’t want to be at Ewood in a fan V fan type environment, which is inevitable, (especially after Mowbray’s rallying call to his disciples today). I am choosing to vote with my feet, which in my opinion is the most effective / strongest form of protest. I look forward to returning if / when meaningful changes have been made.
