  1. I think they're weighing up whether to appoint someone from Barratt or Redrow.
  2. Maybe The Coventrio were too busy trying to flog the training ground to mention it.
  3. The signing of Downing, (pipe and carpet slippers), for the second time epitomises Mowbray's tenure. Good work if you can get it.
  4. Possibly not, but he should, in my opinion, irrespective of his roots. He would certainly be a more left field / imaginative appointment than some of the names being bandied around, (Rowett, Monk etc). Two promotions at a very small club is no mean feat.
  5. Agreed, I think Ainsworth would be a good fit. He’s done a terrific job at Wycombe, (over achieving by getting into this league in the first place), and has earned a chance at a bigger club. The fact that he’s from the area and supports Rovers are not grounds for giving him the job, (look at Dunn!), but it complements his credentials as a young, hungry manager with tangible success on his CV. When we inevitably pass up on him, I can see him ending up back at Preston.
  6. No excuse for being a sycophant. All we need now is Dunn to chime up when he's put the cones and bibs away.
  7. I hope he feels suitably embarrassed for blowing smoke up Mowbray's arse pre - match.
  8. I don't think Ainsworth gets the credit he deserves. He's basically done the equivalent of getting Accy Stanley or Rochdale in the Championship. They were favourites for relegation last season.
  9. Yes, the deciding T20 is on tomorrow, so the Raos will probably be focussed on that.
  10. Well rightly or wrongly, it wasn’t given as a foul. That is a fact. As you have conceded, it certainly was not serious foul play with intent to injure. If it happened the other way around, ie our goalkeeper and their forward, I doubt people would be getting so emotive about it. It’s a great shame, but a total freak. No goalkeeper is expecting a player who is off the pitch, behind the goal to do that.
  11. No chance. Has never worked that way, even in instances where serious foul play was involved. It’s a great shame, but just a totally freak accident.
  12. Sorry, but I don’t accept this. It was an absolute freak incident. Raya was obviously taken unawares and, at worst, stuck his knee out a bit. Penalty? Quite possibly, but certainly not serious foul play. You could even describe what Dack tried to do as a bit odd and not something you see as a regular occurrence during games. The impact looked fairly innocuous, as was the case when he sustained the injury against Wigan. Dack is obviously susceptible to this type of injury.
  13. I sincerely hope so, but everything is pointing to a struggle next season, unless Mowbray is replaced by a decent successor.
  14. Fair play to Darrenrover for taking the initiative and trying to do what the likes of Waggott, (pretend Chief Executive), should be doing. In terms of the generally negative, pessimistic views on this forum, I think a lot of that relates to age and a better understanding of the club's plight than is prevalent on other forums and outlets. Some of those people will be in for a shock when they see the size of the crowd when supporters are allowed to attend again. Not many folk will be prepared to put up with monotonous mediocrity, (at best), season upon season.
  15. Henry would be a highly risky appointment, based on his managerial record to date. I would say it's more likely that a star struck Balaji would try to tempt Henry.
  16. Wouldn't surprise me if Bournemouth line up Wilder for next season, or maybe ask Howe to return.
  17. It was an innocuous incident, as was the case in the Wigan game. Unfortunately, Dack must be susceptible to this type of injury.
  18. .....or because it’s a meaningless end of season game, (in March).
  19. We look a reasonable side and pick up points when there is no pressure on a game. Dead rubbers are a happy hunting ground for us. Every season follows more or less the same pattern. Win a few when it’s futile.
  20. Injuries are symptomatic of a struggling club, and many of the injured players are known sicknotes or in the twilight of their careers. We will be hearing the same bleating next season, no doubt.
  21. But he probably won't, and next season will be a virtual replica of the last few, (at best). It's so obvious he has taken the club as far as he can, but we are now stuck with him.
