  1. As stupid as they are I do not believe for 1 second we would sell one of our better players to Burnley when we are joint 2nd in the league
  2. It was a blow but anyone who was thinking Markanday would come in and start scoring loads of goals etc was being optimistic. Like today on FB on the rovers group some saying we won't even make the playoffs now because he got injured and because of the form of the other teams around us.Christ we have only lost one match. We have been below par but the pitch was atrocious v Huddersfield, we still picked up a point and clean sheet. At Cardiff behind close doors we were poor but got the job done it wasn't like they were creating loads of clear cut chances and we were hanging on. The manager got it wrong v Hull, no Travis and no Nyambe and we were shit. Just some of the panic and comments after losing 1 game is unbelievable imo...like saying we don't have a chance at home against a Boro side you have 31 league goals to their name this season.(not you making these comments) Minus Brererton is a big blow but our home record is fantastic and defensively we have been superb last cpl of months, we shouldn't be fearing playing Boro.
  3. And neither do Boro their top scorer has 6.And the two new forwards have no track record of being goalscorers at senior level.
  4. If you take the main scorer out of any side and Brererton out of ours our goals for is comparable with the rest of the top 6 excluding Fulham. Solanke out of the Bournemouth side goals for they are 1 or 2 ahead. Boro haven't been scoring a lot of goals..the game will be tight but if we get the defensive side of our game right I think we will be celebrating 3 points on Monday night.
  5. 2 new forwards ready to go?Balagoun has played hardly any first team football and when he has featured for Arsenal he has been poor and Connolly is a handy player but not a goalscorer imo. The reason we are as high as we are in the league is down to the vast improvement of the defensive side of our game.Brererton was scoring earlier in the season and we weren't in the top 6 and Armstrong scored 28 goals last year and we finished 15th. I'm not arguing that we need another forward in but if we continue to defend as we have been doing in most the matches since Fulham we will keep ourselves in contention.
  6. Why does it have to be Gallagher who scores. If we show the level of defending we did prior to the Hull game, then just the 1 goal could win it. Boro ain't a freescoring side
  7. Coventry 1-1 v QPR now
  8. Elliot was starting for Liverpool prior to his injury, they won't be letting him out
  9. Still 9 points off us with them having to play us away from home
  10. Hull was poor. But TM moved away from a winning formula.Travis is back for Monday. Gally was shite the other night and isn't great but still has 5 goals and a couple of assists this season. It will be a tough game and Middlesbrough COULD come out with the 3 points but I'm not having that we have no chance against them.We have the second best home form in the league. Take Solanke's goals away from Bournemouth and Brererton away from Rovers they have scored 1 more goal than us this season. It takes 1 goal to win a game. When Brererton was banging them in earlier in the season we were outside the playoffs. Our recent run is down to becoming more solid at the back and with the return of Nyambe and Travis then I don't think we will give up as many chances as we did against Hull. Boro have scored 31 this season to our 44 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/middlesbrough/top-scorers
  11. Not giving us a chance is folly. Its Middlesbrough.Fulham aside at home we give anyone a game.Boro have conceded in their last 3.I watched them also and imo they were not as good as we were in our run. Cardiff we played shite,we won the game to nil, they didn't create much.Huddersfielf the pitch was atrocious they can be excused for not playing great in that match. It will be a tough game but again at home i don't think we should be fearing it at all
  12. Its Middlesbrough not Man City. If we perform like we have shown since our change to 3 at the back, with the exception of the last couple of games, we are more than capable of beating Boro even without Pickering and Brererton
  13. Poveda staying on loan must have been no break clause
  14. We haven't created anything for him in the last few games. If we were creating chances and he was missing then fair enough but the team in general have been below par. We had 2 decent chances the other night and Brererton created the penalty appeal himself
  15. Don't want Lawrence. Get a center midfielder and Goalscorer in
  16. Yeah think after the next 6 things will become a lot clearer, we will either be firmly in the mix for Automatic or will be worrying about making the playoffs. Hopefully the Hull match will act as a reminder to Mowbray to not move away from the formation that has served us so well these past couple of months
  17. Oli Burke previously linked signing for Millwall on loan
  18. Being linked with a striker today. From a usually reliable source
  19. Surely the team at Ewood Mowbray, Waggott etc will know what budget they have for January. It's down to them to get the deals done, only way owners to blame if radio silence and the team on the ground don't know the budget but that's unlikely considering they have brought 3 players in already.
  20. Lenihen hasn't played that position in years. Why are we still paying Johnson and Davenport if we are going to put a centre half in midfield ahead of them?
  21. Finished Dopesick last night, quality drama and only 8 episodes long.Great performance by Michael Keaton Looking forward to the return of Snowfall in February
  22. Yeah but we have a far better chance with Brererton not being sold. I don't think that amount will be offered anyway, but he will still have interest in the summer and will still fetch a sizeable fee..15-20 million. Unless the club are under threat of going under and a sale would be necessary to keep us going I don't see why we would want him sold.Let the owners keep footing the bill created by their mismanagement rather than selling our top scorer Talk of half his fee being reinvested just isn't going to happen, and whatever money we do have won't go on proven top end championship quality as we just don't pay the wages other teams do. If a decent fee is spent it will be on another young talent that they feel they can improve. Now we may not go up but with the league as poor as it is this year then we might not get another chance as good as this in the next ten years. If we don't get promoted this season it's very hard to see it happening next season with Rothwell, Lenihen, Nyambe and Brererton gone.
  23. I rate Ayala but he wasn't playing in our recent run of good form so not sure how you can say his form is one of the main reasons we find ourselves so high up in the league? Apart from Wigan in the cup he hasnt started a game in ages .
  24. Unless they give the go ahead to pay at least 25k a week then no chance Gayle or players like him end up here. If our max stays at 18-20k per week will struggle to get proven promotion quality. We sell Brererton the big transfer fee out of that will be a similar signing as to what Brererton was a younger player with growth potential. Nobody will pay 28 million for Brererton this window unless Newcastle get desperate
