It only takes one good season from a young english striker and you see their value in the market increase To me its good news in the sense they are trying to get players tied down rather than getting into the situation we are now with 3 important players out of contract in the summer

If we didnt have Brererton we wouldnt be in 4th spot now.If we sell in January and money is given for a striker it will be most likely be a development signing again. Iv defended the owners in terms of money spent on the playing squad in the mowbray reign and i know that they havent wanted to sell players in the past so i dont think he will be sold but if he is for £20 million then i dont think there is any defending of them and promotion is not a top priority From the outside looking in and looking at Brerertons demeanour and some of the things he has said he looks to be really enjoying his football so i dont believe he is knocking on the managers door asking to leave. I mention he has 7 or 8 goal involvements.You dismiss it.I then say he has 3 assists and you say that isnt great for an attacking midfielder in a free scoring side.I then mention 3 assists is joint second for the team this season and you start banging on that he would have started more games than the others. I mention he has played multiple positions this season.You dismiss that also and compare him with Gallagher and Dolan who play as part of a front 3 when selected. More game time shifted all over the place,Dolan and Gallagher play in the front 3. Yesterday you play down his goal involvments yet without him on the field those goals may not have happened.He has won the ball back countless times for us.And the stats will show he is worth his place in the team. He has played rb, right wing back, as part of a 3 in midfield,behind the striker and false 9 so yes you may be correct he has played a lot but not always as an attacking midfielder

Buckley is joint 2nd with with Dolan and Gallagher with 3 assists with only Rothwell doing better with 6. We will just have to agree to disagree but imo Buckley has a big future will only get better with more game time like Brererton
