  1. Because they don't want to break wage cap they have. Not saying I agree with it but they offer Armstrong a lot more than the wage ceiling they have seemingly imposed, then you have the other players that are soon to be out of contract wanting more than the wage ceiling, Captain Lenihen for example. Totally agree it's a shit show and we will most likely sell Armstrong for below market value but of course there is a new contract on the table for him. Weren't you saying the exact same things when we were trying to extend Dacks contract? There are enough problems at the club without you continuously peddling these nonsensical conspiracys
  2. So what are you saying there isn't a new contract on the table for Armstrong?Of course there is.And yeah it most likely would make him the highest paid player at the club but he will get better elsewhere.
  3. This year make or break for him, doubt much if any will be spent on bringing players in ,he will get a chance this season if he doesn't break down with another long term injury
  4. That is due to the injuries he keeps getting. He would have played more but for them If he can get over them then he has a chance ,looks a talent from whenever I have seen him and has a bit of aggression and nastiness about him ,if he doesn't make it in the game it won't be due to talent but like I say his injury record awful maybe just doesn't have the body for the professional game
  5. That lad from Leicester who been linked with a loan move here is at Luton's training getaway.
  6. Do you think even if he goes we will spend money on permanent transfers this summer?I don't The reason for no signings yet is because the premier league clubs won't let their kids out on loan to they have numbers back .
  7. Look on Andy Bayes Twitter you will find a link you will have to scroll down a fair bit but he was on radio lancs, Nixon was on aswel. It was posted ion here but can't remember which thread
  8. I'm excited to see a few of the younger players getting extended spells in the side and finding out if they are up to it . Feel no chance anything better than midtable under Mowbray so hopefully we stay up and say goodbye to him and rest of the Coventry rejects when his contract is up. We need a few brought in but il be honest I'd prefer we use the loan market this summer as I don't want Mowbray being given more cash to spend on permanent signings.
  9. Mate you mentioned it on here the exact day I seen people suggesting his name on twitter. You have previous for it coming on here with transfer rumours that have come from a couple of tweets from randomers. If your info is genuine then I apologize but find it hard to believe we were in for Wyke, and to be fair If we gave him a 3 year deal on 10k a week I'd be fuming.
  10. You keep saying this about the Rhodes money.7 million Brererton, 5 million Gallagher ,1.7 upto 3 million Armstrong, add the multiple other players brought in by Mowbray not to mention the multiple contracts given to ageing players in that time. We bought Rhodes for 8 million and he was on 35 grand a week...they made a tiny profit on Rhodes if that. The owners can be rightly criticized for a lot of things but they have spent bringing players in.
  11. We were after him according to who?A few people tweeting it doesn't make it true.
  12. The thing is though over the last 4 seasons we havent brought much money in through player sales. The only player of note sold has been Raya in that time for an initial 3 million. I'm not a venky apologist ,Im in agreement that they are terrible owners but I don't think it can be argued that they haven't backed the manager in the market over the last few years and even before that. Ain't we under threat of an embargo due to overspending??Was the embargo under Bowyer due to overspending aswell? It's through their disinterest and stupidity we are in the position we are in not because they won't spend money,...200 million tells us they have spent and lost a fortune on us.
  13. Do you really believe the club would have to use the local media to drum up interest in Armstrong?? He is young, English, just finished 2nd top scorer in the championship with 28 goals and has a year left on his deal. Surely wether he is sold or kept it will reflect badly on the manager and Waggott as any fee we are likely to receive will be much lower than we should be getting so why would they be happy to see him leave in those circumstances. Yeah the owners sanctioned the Cairney sale years ago but in recent times we have sold only Raya. It's the wage cap we seem to have preventing us tieing down our better players. Why would Armstrong sign now for a probable max 20k a week when he will get more by either leaving this summer or running his contract down
  14. Hopefully we won't look at Trybull spends far too much time out injured and he only played well a couple of times last season
  15. He was loaned out to QPR last season hardly that unrealistic
  16. I'm sure he said it was a young player when he first mentioned this?
  17. Wonder if he will be given a run of games and proper chance this time?
  18. He can't be any worse than Douglas and Bell anyway. We paid a transfer fee for him , with the noises coming out of the club it sounds like he will be our only cash buy unless we bring money in from sales. He will presumably start season as first choice.Hard to bring in a loan who will be happy to play back up, and if we do have any funds for cash buys then it should be spent on trying to improve the first 11 not spent on squad fillers, we have an academy for that.
  19. Not of the standard required to get promoted, but even if we had Messi and Ronaldo we wouldn't get promoted with this fella in charge. We have stayed up comfortably last 3 seasons even with all the departures still feel that we won't get relegated. Our dismal run last year was down to Mowbray continuing with a style and first 11 that clearly wasn't working
  20. Or it could be the manager getting the tactics wrong, not choosing the correct starting 11 and playing multiple players out of position
  21. Why were Forest so adamant that they wouldn't sell before their valuation of 7 million was met?Surely if he was as talentless as you suggest they would have been happy to get him off the books for whatever they could get. You said in an earlier post that his involvement in the Copa America won't increase his value or attract interest which is nonsense if he continues to perform for them as he has done since the tournament started. You keep mentioning his goal against "lowly " Bolivia like that's the only thing he has done for them.He has played well in both games his running with and without the ball creates a lot of space for his teammates.I agree he will never be a high scoring centre forward but he has plenty of attributes to aid a side playing wide of a 3. You do this a lot with players, you never take into account how a young player can develop.Earlier this season or last season you were saying Mason Mount wasnt very good and only getting in the Chelsea and England side due to his relationship with the manager.More recently it's Declan Rice who isn't very good yet he is being linked with top sides and many many managers, pundits etc talk about him becoming a top player. It's similar with the Armstrong situation, you saying how we won't have anyone to score goals, players come and go,players step up like Armstrong did when you made the same statements about who is going to score when Dack got injured
