Summer transfer window 2021.

Vale has gone on loan to Halifax -
The money will be spent again tho this is where we disagree that money will be put on the field again. Why agree to 40% sell on in Armstrong's case if it is about profit or covering losses?I'm not buying the argument that we agreed to it so we could get him so cheap in my opinion it was market value for the player he was and what he had done at the time but even if that wasn't the case we had no problem over paying for Brereton and Gallagher so why not Armstrong. The Bradley Johnson's,Holtbys ,Downings Ayala's, long term deals for Bennet,Mulgrew and Evans. That money was spent with profit in mind ffs? The Armstrong money will reappear like the Rhodes money eventually did.Every time spending stops it is the third year when they have pushed us to the hilt. Name me one club that carries our wage budget and spends decent enough money on transfer fees with similar non owner funded income as ourselves? There ain't any and when they do spend it is reliant on player sales. Not being argumentative either and I am unhappy with many things at the club but believe we should be in a lot more secure position with the finance that has been available to Mowbray.

It pays for Gallagher and Brererton and helps to balance the books. We have had hardly any income in the last 18 months. If it is coming across that I am defensive over the owners being criticized then I apologize, I am completely in agreement that they are incompetent and have no business running a football club. However, they are putting in what they can ,our wages to turnover is ridiculous. They are losing money not making it on us.They are billionaires do you honestly think they care over a few million profit made on Armstrong which doesn't even put us in a positive transfer spend since Mowbray had been at the club if you take signing on fees on ageing players Into account? If we are ever to see the back of the Venkys then the club needs to start becoming more sustainable, they will not be putting us into administration like what happened at Wigan and Bolton. A striker should have been brought in to make our stay in the league more secure but we can't spending money like we have been doing ,throwing money down the drain.Yes high transfer fees have been kept for forward players but some of our free transfers ended up costing the club a lot of money. There must have been some money as why would you choose to spend what little you have on all these similar type player loans and spend a transfer fee for a full back a position you had last paid a transfer fee for and then loaned him back (ridiculous stuff) nothing against the players in question but no way to go about things. Surely that comes down to people on the ground being wasteful with the playing budget. Incompetent people on the ground with no sort of plan except putting prices through the roof and making it a struggle for many to afford to go. On the ground needs a complete overhaul and we have to start cutting our cloth and being more clever with the little money we have. Am I confident that after so many years the owners will suddenly change tact and employ both a competent CEO and a management team no I'm not and want the Venkys gone as much as anyone but they do spend (waste) money and hang onto assets that want out for too long, unless the club stop appointing yes men and start working to a strategy both on and off the field any money we spend will be wasted like the rest. Maybe Maja didn't fancy competing for a wide Striker role with Gallagher and Brererton whilst Poveda or Dolan played through the middle?

How do the owners benefit from the Armstrong deal? Pay them back for Gallagher and Brererton?Pay toward wages? They have no clue how to run a football club but they won't be rubbing their hands together over the fact they made 9 or 10 Million on Armstrong. This is not a post defending the owners, without a doubt they are totally clueless and agree with the majority of what you have said apart from the owners benefitting from the Armstrong sale. Which ever way you look at it the club needs money being brought in.We had sold Raya and Nuttall previous to Armstrong. We still are not in player trading profit during Mowbrays tenure. Also you keep saying "it's the same as every summer".Last summer 11 players were brought to the club,12 if you include Pickering.Granted 6 loans

Only a months deal and maybe Mowbray feels Carter and the lad from Brighton can fill in at rb if Nyambe or Jrc are out.Pike needs to play games, yes it is not a very good level but it will be more competitive than under 23 football -

Do you not think Cooper who was at Swansea will be in the running? Isn't he part of the same agency who we seem to always appoint managers from?

If we offered Mullin a contract he would be here likewise if anyone else in the championship made him an offer. I read an interview not long after he signed online and he only mentioned turning down league 1 and 2 no mention of the championship -
Premier league clubs made the same ruling as the EFl
-
Villa letting Martinez and Beundia out didn't help the other teams .Can see a FIFA sanction coming which will mean he could possibly miss 2 matches
-
It might not be scummy to Chapman's bank balance though??He signed on for another year for a reason nobody was paying him more Agreed he did look good V Forest. He didn't get a fair opportunity to build on that ,will say he has been poor in the majority of his time though although never got a proper run at it either.Money was definitely made by a few off that extension
-
Yeah so why He committed to 500k to another left back. Now Edun might turn out to be a good signing but it is still a gamble and our last money purchase was a full back from the same league. We could have probably signed the striker from Accy for not too much more a rated player who many feel has the potential to play at a higher level again a gamble but if that gamble pays off we have a goalscorer surely easier to loan in a left back who would be competent or let Costello fill in. Totally agree overall responsibility lays with the owners and more money could have been made available but we had some money as shown by our last ditch effort to get Burke in.The failure to bring in anyone definitely lays with the people on the ground.Maybe Mowbray doesn't want a striker? With the little money he had available.Maybe that's why Khedra and Poveda were signed to play the role Dolan was.I know he said he wanted a striker but when we brought in Brererton he called him a striker same with Gally then they were reborn as wide fowards Still think we will stay up lot worse in this division. We won't get as many goals but we will be harder to beat if Pickering improves or this new fella is better and Nyambe can get fit.Brererton and Gally can get ten goals each this season if he doesn't faff about changing things every week
-
Don't think we will do well this season but think we will stay up.The league is weaker than last season,we ain't the only team with a weak bench. My biggest worry is gonna be TM trying to be clever and outwit the opposition manager every week and changing the line ups and formation to counter them instead of concentrating on ourselves and playing to our strengths. But there are other poor managers in the division with worse squads. I agree the owners should have stumped up the extra cash for a goalscorers but once again Mowbray doesn't get his priorities in order, why sign both Khedra and Poveda surely one or the other. We might not have had much to spend and couldn't have gotten a permanent deal done but surely be to God a loan of a striker with a chance of scoring goals could have been brought in instead of one of those. The biggest disappointment for me is not loaning any players out.McBride and Vale another year of under 23 football we will learn nothing from it.Garrett who looked good in the pre season friendly could have been sent out. Butterworth is needed now but again he will probably be living off scraps a few minutes here and there when we are up against it and need a goal.Even when he comes on and if he does well he will be on the bench again. Chapman comes on against Forest good showing then out the door.I would love to know how much we are paying him

Announce Sturridge On a serious note looks like FIFA are going to have a say over players playing for red listed country's. We could be without Brererton yet which makes it even more bewildering we didn't bring a goalscorer in. We couldn't have gotten anyone even on loan?Joke -

Mowbray lucky he has had a reasonable start otherwise be in for some grief next match. Not to sign a striker is bad but to only send one of our younger players out on loan, a player who clearly doesn't have a future at the club, is a disgrace. -

I'd take Brewster over Burke all day long.We need a goalscorer.Things have not worked out for Brewster at Sheffield but he was lethal for Swansea in this division and well thought of at Liverpool.Never worth that sort of money but if he was to join on loan I'd be confident him being our top scorer -
