He hasnt pulled in nearly 20 million for Armstrong. With what newcastle recieved as part of the deal and take away what we paid for him we cleared about 10 million. Gallagher and Brererton was 12 million and yeah they are playing well this season but were we in a position as a club that we could be waiting around 2 or 3 years for players that cost that sort of money to develop? -
That sounds like something Mercer would say despite the noticeable "imo" missing. He isnt getting sacked imo

I presumed Carter was injured. Not been on the bench either has he? -
Will they review his position shortly though? I think it is his last season here but don't see him leaving until his contract is up.
-
I want them out aswell but in Mowbrays reign, up until this summer he has been well backed .Backed more than a lot of clubs in this division. How many players did he bring in? Compared to selling? Up until this summer in Mowbrays reign only Raya was sold for a fee over a million. Will echo I want them out as much as the next man but I do not see it happening.
-
Do us a favour Mowbray and just leave ffs.More waffle about punching above our weight again
-
Agree with that but still until they stop paying the bills then I think its hyperbolic to be labelling them the worst owners ever when other clubs have been through a lot more than we have due to ownership.
-
I accept some people have unfortunately lost their jobs but not to the same degree as some of the other clubs who have gone into admin. Of course I 100% agree that they are terrible owners but they are not the worst owners ever, the debt is owed to them unlike other clubs who were leaving many a debt unpaid tax man, suppliers, wages unpaid , falling behind on loan repayments etc
-
Has he had ample opportunity to get Nyambe tied down to a contract? The owners were ok giving Ayala the money he will have wanted and giving an extension to the likes of Bennett but they said no to Nymabe recieving say 10 a week which he would have snapped our hands off for? How do you know that Rothwell doesn't want 20+ grand a week? What's the plan If he signs up and he goes back to going missing or out of the side and the only teams interested are the ones offering him ten grand a week? You would have been furious if Brererton was offered a new deal on better terms before his upturn in form and would Brererton have been interested in signing a new deal anyway when he wasn't playing. In the last 3 years they have given Mowbray what he wanted.Shit owners? Absolutely.Shittest owners ever? like your post said hyperbole at its best...as far as I'm aware the majority of the club debt is owed to Venkys they will never get that back unlike other clubs who had massive loans out and owed the tax man millions and working class people ,stewards, ticket staff, security, tea ladies etc etc lost their jobs that hasn't happened with us as far as I'm aware. We will see next summer but I predict money will be spent
-
Your posts come across as defensive of Mowbray. Anyway we all know the owners are shit but what are you going to do about it apart from continuously going over the same stuff on here? At least with the manager the fans have a tiny chance with these idiots in charge of forcing him out.Our voices won't carry to removing the owners especially when half the fan base are thankful to them. I don't know how many times this has to be said and Chaddy has posted proof of this that the owners are at the max of what they can put in until we lose the spend from our first season back in the calculations.Unless you can disprove this then I don't know why you keep calling the owners out for not spending money on transfers this summer?I'm no ffp expert im going off what Chaddy posted and it looked in black and white to me concerning the rules? I totally agree the owners do not care but he has been adequately backed to not have the squad in the state it is. These deals should have been done long ago but is it just down to money they weren't?Was Mowbray pushing to get Brererton a new deal a year ago or even 18 month?I mean form had improved but still not to the level he is currently, obviously I know protect assets but Mowbray going to the owners and asking for a new contract for a guy who he had paid 6 million for and hardly played him to begin with and when he did see action was crap. Nyambe is like Raya for me, Mowbray doesn't rate him as we do.If Costello was fit he would have him playing right back and Nyambe on the bench. Rothwell again he wasn't showing the form he is now would he have warranted a pay rise?Would he have signed anyway when he was in and out of the team? Now it's got to the stage where they want more than we can offer them certainly if any truth Rangers in for Rothwell and Brererton will be getting interest aswell. Like I said Chaddy has posted the amount you can put in and they have put it in and I think money will be available for signings in the summer when we lose the spend from our return to the league. I do not think they care.I don't think Mowbray has to ring them up for an extension for Sam Hart etc. They give a budget and let the people on the ground use that budget unless you have evidence that isn't the case?If Mowbray didn't want to play with such a big squad 11 players brought in last summer then deals maybe could have been done earlier. Yeah I will agree Mowbray has made some good signings and he will make a profit on a few players and deserves credit for that but again that 10 million couldn't be spent this window without the threat of sanctions. Obviously probably ways round that but agreed our owners do not care enough to employ people clever enough to do that. If we sack Mowbray chances are it will be another underwhelming appointment but fuck me one day they are bound to get lucky and employ someone who can deliver.

Park was clearly a Mowbray appointment, surely if Mowbray leaves like the majority want then he will be going with him. A new manager will want to bring his own people in -
Summer transfer window 2021.
islander200 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The owners don't care about us and know nothing about football.Mowbray was given a budget last summer , a budget that allowed him to bring in 11 players so it wasn't the Venkys saying "no you can't sign Downing" it was his decision to not pursue it at the time because like the quotes Chaddy posted tells us he wanted 6 or 7 in beforehand. -
Don't disagree that Venkys should be getting stick. But again you are absolving the manager of blame. Who do you think recommended that Mulgrew,Bennett, Evans, Smallwood etc etc got new long term contracts when we got promoted?Suppose it was the owners idea? Was it the Venkys who recommended Rodwell came in on good money? Was it the Venkys who recommended we hand out extensions and pay players that didn't see any action after the covid break? Ayala has played well this season, but last season after signing a deal on most likely top end of our wage structure he hardly played and when he did he played poorly. That's a lot of money over the course of those contracts for not very much in return . So although Mowbray may not do the negotiations but he recommends who gets new contracts and who is signed so we are counting the cost of those mistakes now.He certainly deserves part of the blame

Summer transfer window 2021.
islander200 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I don't see how they let Mowbray down last summer(which is what your initial post was making out) when brought 11 players to the club including Downing. With the money he had made available to him and not being being forced to sell players the squad should be in a lot better position than it is, that is on Mowbray and the people on the ground regardless of how shit our owners are. -

islander200 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Mowbray brought 11 players to the club that summer.Pickering made it 12 in January.Up until this summer Mowbray can have absolutely no complaints over the backing he received. Everybody knows the owners are a major problem, but you continue to suggest that Mowbray is working under terrible conditions and is hamstrung by budgets etc when the facts are up until this summer he was backed well and wasn't forced to sell a single player in that time, you won't find many managers with that backing in this division. And as shown it would have been sensible if the owners kept to that and refused the signing of Downing. He hardly ever played.Mowbray seems to love paying people for nothing.Maybe Mulgrew needed help handing the bibs out before his move to Fleetwood Read chaddys post below direct quotes.Do you think Mowbray should have an unlimited budget? -

He didn't play Downing anyway, more money wasted on Mowbrays recommendations -
We will probably get a performance and a win on Saturday as one thing I will say Mowbray has more lives than a cat, when the crowd is on the verge of turning and been on a winless streak he invariably goes on a little spell of picking up results, usually when he sticks to the best team and formation instead of changing it up every 5 minutes

Did I say I would be happy with it? Which would you be happier with 17th or relegation? I was merely giving my opinion that I don't think there is a chance that we will get relegated this season due to some of the other teams in the league. It's like this most including me expected this season to be a struggle. Most including me want the manager out. We had a good start and I see mad stuff being posted on here about us possibly getting top 6 this year. There is no chance of that either. I'm hopeful money will be spent next summer when we lose the window got promoted from the ffp calculations. And praying it will be a new management team that get to spend it rather than Mowbray. -

Get through this season and hopefully a new management team in place next summer and hopefully some money will be spent on improving the squad. You don't get my point? Posters were saying we could go down, I said in my opinion we wouldn't go down due to there being worse teams than us?Not sure what you don't get about that?Hardly rocket science is it? And why do you struggle with 17th?We are in 11th now ain't we?Have we not beaten teams this season? -

Did I say it's anything to get excited about?Did I say Im happy about it?No ! I'm replying to people saying we will go down when I don't think there is any chance we will get relegated this season. There are 24 teams in the championship btw -
Buckley has been ok far far better than anything shown by Clarkson. In fairness Buckley has played as part of a 3 across the midfield, wide right, right wingback and centrally in a 3 behind a front man.He hasnt spent all season as an attacking midfielder.I think he should be playing alongside Travis in a 4-2-3-1 where he can use his long passing and vision and tackling to greater effect.Use Rothwell central of the 3 behind the striker. Agree his numbers need to be improved, but overall I think he has played well, has won the ball back for us on a number of occasions with his tackling and he can see a pass better than anyone in our squad imo.
-
Yeah hopefully Reading don't play 3 at the back
-
Sorry Hull yes and id agree Khadra was slightly better but as for being far more influential I'd say that is an overstatement. He had an impact and then not seen for matches later despite the manager building him up in the media. Hardly shocking that fans will be more protective of one of our own players rather than a loan is it? Also think it was stupid leaving Buckley out last night.Mowbray said he wanted to rest a couple.Buckley had played one game after a 2 week international break ffs.Clarkson has done absolutely nothing to warrant a start, he hasn't impressed starting or coming off the bench

We have already done it this season. We are 10th not 20th. No guarantee Rothwell leaves in January all the talk at the moment is him signing a pre contract with Rangers so wouldn't be going until the summer. Even without Rothwell we ain't as bad as Peterborough, Hull, and other teams.Derby will go down if another points deduction and they have to sell players in January. We wont finish any lower than 17th in my opinion -
Do you think Butterworth played well when he came on against Huddersfield?I think most who watched that would say he did play well in that match. Since that game he has hardly seen any minutes. If he was under consideration to start last night then surely he should have been given some minutes in the previous match against Coventry, rather than Poveda coming on. Mowbray does deserve criticism for the way he is handling the players, absolutely no doubt about it
