  1. 3 points could be massive here with Reading losing 2-0 and Brentford drawing.Cmon lads
  2. I do agree that contract should have been sorted out, but what do the likes of Armstrong and Dack want now. Going off the managers comments from last year we had been in negotiations with Dack but he hadn't signed a new deal. Dack has been out with a serious injury for 12 month, will he be the same player? Could anyone have foreseen the improvement in Armstrong the last 10 month? Certainly Armstrong could probably get a multi year contract on at least 30k a week if he was to move on. Rothwell although an obvious talent he hasn't been a regular whilst here, and has been very inconsistent in his time at the club, again how much of an improvement in terms will he want. The Nyambe situation is the one that really gets to me, he should be tied down to a longer contract.Dont think the manager rates him too much though he leaves him out every opportunity he gets. FFP might be taking a back seat for now but if it comes back into play will we be FFp compliant if we give the players what they want. If we don't go up this season then at least one big money sale will most likely have to happen and Armstrong would surely get the most interest and bring the biggest fee in.
  3. Do you know for sure we haven't offered him improved terms? Not doubting it but not seen anywhere we havent offered him improved terms?
  4. I predict you will be wrong about Buckley.Only a few months ago Brereton was destined for a career in the lower leagues according to you.
  5. Was Buckley playing against ten men v QPR?As he didn't look lost in that game . Disagree he looked lost the other night,he did ok. He is a young player finding his feet in the division but he can pick out a forward pass and keeps the ball moving.Would have given him a start today if Holtby was to be rested.
  6. I'm not point scoring at all.Amd as for 2 years ago? It's happened on here this season. Brereton had a poor game and id a poster quote one of my posts which was about Bradley Johnson, celebrating that Brereton had had a poor game, more happy to be proven correct than Brereton coming good. And it's been point scoring for 2 years from posters who never rated Brereton, anyone who gave a positive post about Brereton on here since he joined was rounded on and made out to be ridiculous and stupid for suggesting they could see potential in Brereton. And as for you last sentence, I will say again people within the game rate Brereton and you don't make 50 odd appearances by the age of 19 with nothing about you.An awful lot of people were criticizing him when he signed before he had even kicked a ball for us!
  7. I'm not saying abuse by some fans was the reason for his poor form prior to this season but I'm sensible enough to realise you don't make 56 appearances by the age of 19 in the championship or be valued at 7 million by the selling club if you are "useless", "conference player" "will never make it at this level" etc etc.We can rewrite history all we want but as JBiz said plenty of criticism of him on this thread before he had even kicked a ball for the club and when just played a couple of matches. Brereton is highly rated within the game and although I can totally agree his fee could have been spent improving the first team immediately it's obvious he was bought for his potential and now we are seeing it so statements like I mentioned above are ridiculous
  8. He was getting it online before he even kicked a ball for us though because of his transfer fee, something he had absolutely no control over.
  9. Yeah and Bristol City's results and performances took a downturn when their squad was hit, results have improved for them lately like they have with us. Stokes results haven't been as good either since the keeper crisis. Preston have also took a downturn since their squad was hit. Watford and Norwich only came down have much bigger and better squads than most the division, it won't impact on them as much as the rest of the teams in the division
  10. Yeah the clubs who have had covid and injury issues have struggled with results after like us. Bristol City started season on fire, a few key men like us were out and their results and performances took a downturn. They like us have improved again lately. Any team in the division who has the amount of players out Like we did earlier in the season will struggle aswell, maybe with the exception of the teams that came down who have bigger squads.
  11. IV heard it at Ewood also, on numerous occasions. Last time I put that on here I was told I was lieing and trying to paint our fanbase in a bad light .
  12. I'm not saying we should or would be sat in the top 6 if it wasn't for injuries or covid absentee's. I'm not referring to you as you didn't say it but others where predicting a relegation battle when we had our poor spell, blatantly ignoring the fact we had a lot of key men out. 5 defeats already at this point looks bad when weighing up our promotion chances, but we have Bournemouth,Watford and Swansea already played away from home, 3 teams that will certainly be amongst the top 6, and only in the Swansea match did we play poorly. Like people were going on about Warnock (I rate him as a manager also)and the great start to the season he has had at Boro and how they will be in contention. They havent had the absentee we have had to contend with nor have they played Swansea, Bournemouth and Watford away from home. Currently we are ahead of them in the table. I think the season is shaping up nicely but like you say we need an extended spell in the top 6 before we can start truly believing we will be amongst it at season end. All talk of Relegation etc was complete nonsense tho with the players we had out
  13. As do I but you train all week and practice your game plan throughout the week but then lose a few key men 24 hours prior to kick off to add to an already hefty absentee list then I can certainly understand why we and other teams in a similar circumstance wouldn't perform at their best. Yes we have struggled when we have had players out but I also expect that other teams will struggle when hit with such issues.
  14. I wouldn't say excuses but you expect us to perform the same minus 6 or 7 important players like earlier in the season? Even the premier league champions have struggled with performance and results due to absentees through injury or Covid. At one point we had 10+ players out , you expect us to perform at our best in those circumstances?
  15. No more ridiculous than some of the posts (not by you)tipping us to be in a relegation struggle when we had 10+ first team players out through Covid and injury
  16. It wasn't ages ago tho it's been said this season when he is playing well . How come I don't see posts like this from you when posters were ridiculing other posters for saying they saw potential in Brereton and thought he would come good?
  17. He was being dismissed and some were saying he had no decent attributes. Even earlier this season when he was playing well it was still being said. Despite how poor he has been those were ridiculous statements to be coming out with as you don't play 56 championship matches by the age of 19 if you have nothing about you nor do the selling club want as much as 7 million for a 19 year old who has no potential or decent attributes
  18. Aye up until this season he didn't show much but some of the stuff said about him was bordering on ridiculous.."should be in the conference" , "we would find better down in pleasy" Undoubtedly he hasnt been great in his first couple of years and the money would have been better spent on ready made players but at 19 he had made 50 odd appearances in the Championship for Forest and you don't do that at 19 if you have nothing about you or "would find better down in pleasy"
  19. Douglas ,Ayala and Trybull all have promotion experience.Douglas twice in last 3 year so you can't say he hasn't signed players with a winning mentality
  20. Douglas and Bell got 45 minutes each.Downing played 60 minute and Dack 45.
