  1. Get in. Chapman did very well after coming on.Carter defended very well.Ayala top class Hopefully nothing serious with Rothwell has started the season with end product
  2. I get where your coming from but we hadnt sold a player for 15 million earlier in the window. It's only since Armstrong has been sold that we have had any mention of permanent signings. If relying on loans from Premier League acadamies then it was always going to be later rather than sooner to get them in as the clubs keep them around. He sounded surprised when he first mentioned the possibility of a permanent player or 2 coming in when he first mentioned it when Armstrong was close to the move to Southampton. If he now has more money than expected then he will be targetting a better standard of player. It's not a one of here anyway, last season the majority of our signings were made late, only Kaminski arrived early
  3. That was pre Armstring Some random site said we had an interest and besides with the Armstrong money arriving and TM hinting he has better scope to make deals if there ever was an interest then maybe it was ourselves who moved on.
  4. Fair play but he was absolutely dogshit here and there would have been uproar on here JHRover included if we had given him a new deal
  5. Where exactly have Luton got? Steady on, a good start to the season but unless they get promoted or finish in the top 6 should we really be looking on in envy? As for Bell could it not be as simple that he wanted regular first team games? He was in and out of the team here and is not a very good player. If we were signing the players that Luton have I can almost guarantee that you would be critical of it
  6. What are you talking about ? Pretty much the same as every window? 7 on Brererton, 5 on Gallagher the multitude of other signings that were expensive,Holtby ,Ayala etc. Every season he has been here he has brought plenty of players in in the summer. Ayala, Johnson ,Downing were not cheap deals for the club. Last summer I remember you criticizing the club when it appeared we had lost out on Ayala, saying we wouldn't spend the money to bring him in.That was a costly deal as we're the other free transfer signings we have done in the last 3 years.
  7. Article suggests to me that Armstrong's replacement will be a permanent deal and the rest loans When he speaks about having 5 or 6 names on a list to replace Arma. I do think we will spend money on a forward
  8. Didn't Mowbray say he wanted two centre halves? So could be in addition to the city lad
  9. Is it a surprise we are not spending money?.Most championship clubs ain't spending money,we along with the rest of them have had minuscule income the past 18 months and we don't sell players at least up until last week and now they are saying a bit of money for a permanent signing . And I'm not buying we never spend money Mowbray has had plenty of money and we only have to look at how much we spend on wages compared to what we bring in
  10. With the money wasted on long term deals ,Mulgrew, Bennett, Evans etc etc and the failed signings do we really want Mowbray being given more money.Get enough in to keep us up and clean sweep in the dugout next season. The young loan signings last couple of years , Elliot, Bellis, Tosin, Reed before them have been amongst our better players. This window more than any you will see clubs in the championship using loans from premier League acadamies
  11. And all will want two year deals and nice wages, all injury prone and ageing. We can't give out contracts to our own assets because we over spent on giving out expensive deals to ageing, injury prone and past it players and have done whenever the owners have decided to spend some money.. Murphy,Best ,Etuthu, all the foreign lads, Giving Mulgrew that contract, Evans money for nothing never fit ,Holtby a baller on his day but a luxury the club couldn't afford
  12. The majority of thd I could argue Elliots assists helped keep us in the league. And Bellis improved the defence
  13. Chapman isn't as good as Elliot, far from it. You think it is realistic to expect as many as eight to step up from our academy this season? We have lost 12 players and are reliant on the loan market and personally I would prefer a TOP young prospect than say A Trybull whose club are so desperate to get rid of they loaned him to a championship rival for a 2k a week contribution to his wage?
  14. Anyone decent will want money we don't pay.All the better ones that we had a chance of affording were snapped up when we had an embargo. Nixon saying at least one permanent signing and crooke and Sharpe been saying it too
  15. So we should have got all of Elliots assists and goals for nothing?Bellis helped win us matches. We ain't unique in using the loan market
  16. Didn't say I was happy but I'm accepting of the situation we are in.We are not spending much on permanent signings if anything, and to be fair I don't want Mowbray being given too much to bring in another Johnson or Holtby and give out big contracts, I want him out the door asap. The majority of clubs will be using loans from the premier league acadamies, and by all accounts Clarkson is considered one of the better ones available so yes I am happy in that regard. We have lost 12 players ,logic tells us that not all of those 12 can be replaced by our own academy.3 or 4 of them being capable yes but any more than that is stretching it and they would be better served going down to league one and playing every week for a season
  17. No I didn't.I said criticising the club for something you don't know to be true is ridiculous. Plenty of legitimate reasons to call the club out on. You hadnt even heard of Clarkson last week and now you know the club made a ricket in not signing him up as a youngster. We have no idea what went on. Even if he was at the club although the official Liverpool site says he joined their academy at 6, it's hardly just cause to stick the boot in for the club not recognising he would make it by the age of 9.And as for the club losing out on many local top talents, name some from the last 30 years.Every club in the country has let a talent slip through their fingers every now and again
  18. Who said that? It's fine to criticise the club, just extremely odd to criticise when you don't have any idea what's gone on. Going off your posting history you get enjoyment out of it which is extremely odd
  19. The official Liverpool site has him down as joining the academy at 6
  20. We don't know what happened.Unless you know for a fact that Rovers turned him away and said he wasn't good enough then we can't really criticise the club for it can we.
  21. If you have the money to pay experienced players their wage then fair enough we don't. And going off Mowbrays spell in charge the younger loans have worked out and improved the team Armstrong, Tosin, Elliot, Harrison Reed,Harwood Bellis. Experienced men like Trybull and Douglas were poor
  22. I don't know Jim.Maybe he trained with them at that age but no reason to stick the boot into the club when he signed for Liverpool at 6 years of age
  23. Look no disrespect to the lads we already have but Clarkson has been with the senior team at Liverpool a good 12 months, has played 90 minutes in the Champions League and is tied down to a long term contract.Been spoke about by the management there as one who will make it for them.He will be better quality than what we have
