  1. He had a decent season last year, some good spells some bad like everyone else. Not sure if you watched the Chile matches but he played well it wasn't just a case of him scoring 1 goal and everyone thinking he is brilliant, he played very well for them especially if you consider he doesn't know the language etc
  2. Yeah but they are going too, they don't want the player and are open to offers we have first option not exclusivety. If he doesn't want to join us Southampton ain't going to keep him out of spite
  3. We have lost 11 players, with the way we pick up injuries we need the majority of those replacing wether that be from our own academy, permanent signings or loans. It's pie in the sky stuff to believe that they all can be replaced from the academy. Some will be ready, others won't and some never will be.
  4. We have made an offer if someone else The final decision rests with the player.Southampton can't force him to go anywhere. He is out of contract after this season
  5. Obafemi has other options,it's a wait and see job ,from his perspective he doesn't have to rush a decision
  6. They could fill in but will the odd match or few minutes here and there be more beneficial in the longer term or would they be better off dropping down for a season and playing regular games like Carter did last season? I would keep Butterworth but can see why he would be loaned out if a permanent attacking player is brought in
  7. And if it said he had signed everyone would be questioning the source and waiting for an announcement from the club
  8. Nixon reckons Obafemi hasn't given an answer yet, 2 other clubs in for him
  9. Started for West Brom last week
  10. Travis is contracted to 2023 with a further year in the clubs favour so effectively he is contracted for another 3 years
  11. He is now saying permanent signings might be made, he wouldn't be saying this if he hadn't been the go ahead.Thev"we might be able to" is him just waffling on again. I agree with what you say above , in the sense the manager should be sacked and the people behind and others but in place. But whenever they turn off the taps it is after 2 years of a manager in charge when it is coming close to EFL looking over the books and charges time. You have a point that in the past it wasn't cracked down on but they are starting to crack down now. It is the fault of the owners and the people on the ground that more that half the fan base feel alienated and no longer go but the situation is what it is ,our matchday income is minimal compared to other teams in the division, other teams sell their assets at the right time and more often than not get market value. Our wage bill 180 to turnover, who pays the majority of that the owners do.They have spent loads on wages since coming down, the amount of money wasted in the early days was unreal..Best , Murphy, all the foreign lads on big money contracts that we ended up paying up.Rhodes 8 35 grand a week, signing on fees etc, we will be lucky if we got our money back. Mowbrays time here had plenty of money and has had to sell nobody.Mulgrew close to 20 a week ffs. Now we have sold Armstrong they will allow him to spend a bit again. Our problems lay with being incompetent and utterly wasteful added to the fact the club itself isn't generating any cash (I don't want Mowbray being given more money to spend on permanent signings) but will say I think Obafemi would be a good investment for the club
  12. Yeah but let's see what happens as Obafemi could have other interest
  13. He hasn't they could only sign 4 on wages of 4.5 k per week he wasn't one of the four
  14. Yeah but 20% is the standard and more than enough. I don't buy we got him cheap. You are only worth what someone is willing to pay and I didn't see other teams bidding bigger money.Besides his last spell in the division with Bolton didn't work out for him and he was decent in league one with us but nothing amazing. We developed him ,we ironed out a lot of mistakes.I think we have done well to get as much as we have due to him having only a year left on his contract but we could and should be looking at more profit
  15. Other teams in for him ?That can't be true didn't you know he has a terrible attitude
  16. I understand the frustration but come on fella give it a chance and see what happens over the next week or two now the Arma money is in
  17. Yeah . Obafemi in talks over personal terms according to lancs live
  18. Not a Mowbray fan but I give credit when deserved. To bring a player to the club for 1.7 million and make the profit on him which he has then he deserves a bit of credit.(yes it should have been more but still fair play)
  19. 40% was robbery in the first place
  20. Especially when you are getting this info from a few fans on a message board. And the manager has come out since and said his attitude has improved. He was 18 when he broke through its like people can't understand that a person can mature with age and life experience
  21. I'd agree with this if we didn't pick up so many injuries. Jrc can't be relied upon at minute because he breaks down every few matches. It will take Dack until after Christmas most likely to be back.He hasn't had much of an opportunity but can we rely on Chapman.Cirino has had one friendly against Leeds looked good but maybe regular minutes for a season in league 1 or 2 would be best all round for his development
  22. Yes but more like 20% which is what they would get if it went to tribunal
  23. We lost 11 players though.12 if you include Armstrong. We have talent in the under 23s but it's being extremely optimistic to think that 7..8..10..11..12 of those are going to come in and be ready or capable of playing at this level. Some of those would be better sent to league 1 or 2 to develop. I agree we need quality but we need numbers in.Some of the younger players in the academy's from the premier league will be more ready than our own
  24. I agree it does seem strange but must be something in it as I'd be surprised if Mowbray was talking the way he was about Obafemi yesterday if something wasn't close. We will find out soon enough, Southampton will want Armstrong for the weekend
