  1. Are you sure of this?As even going back as far as Mowbrays West Brom days he spoke of playing a possession game? And it was him repeatedly saying he wanted to change from knocking it long into Graham to a more possesion based game?
  2. No stream today according to lancs live
  3. Yates signed a new deal with Blackpool
  4. I don't agree in anyway that the fans are to blame for what's gone on. What I will say though If supporters want new signings and our current players to renew contracts then the money has to come from somewhere. Not digging you specifically out but on the pre season thread I noticed your dissapointment at the pricing for the Leeds friendly, amd although I agree it seems steep I can understand the club charging it with 4500 Leeds fans expected. If the tickets were cheaper I don't think it would generate as much income as it will priced at £15. Our wage bill is 140+% compared to our turnover and although I don't claim to be a ffp or finance expert I was of the understanding that the owners are putting in the max they are allowed under the current ffp rules,?Happy to be corrected if wrong. If correct then the club needs the supporters to play their part to avoid any sactions.Another transfer enbargo would be absolutely disastrous
  5. If we do get off to a bad start at least the fans displeasure will be heard, not that I think that would make a difference to Venkys when it comes to making a decision but if Mowbray is getting it from a large section of the crowd he might walk away .Only way I can see him leaving before season end .I am of the opinion he is delusional and thinks he is doing a good job. The scary thing Is looking at other social media he seems to retain a quite a bit of support amongst supporters
  6. Not talking about you and appreciate totally that many fans have stopped going due to the ownership. However Unsall is correct many fans stopped going because we lost our place in the top division. When we have played big clubs in the cups, United and Liverpool then the stadium was a sell out
  7. True but with what we likely have to spend we will be most likely be gambling anyway.I don't think we will be in the market for in demand players.Be either cast offs who failed at their current clubs or loans from premier league acadamies.
  8. Two of our better performers last season in Harwood Bellis and Elliott had hardly a senior game between them either. Granted it is not ideal and a bit of experience needs to be added but it needs to be the right quality too which is going to be difficult as it looks like we don't have a pot to piss in.Id rather see short term deals than giving out longer contracts to older players who are either coming to the end of their careers or injury prone... Ayala, Johnson etc The link is probably nonsense anyway
  9. Exactly, so reading that it's most likely complete bull that he has been offered to us as part of a deal. Is there actually an article stating he has been offered to us or are people working themselves up in to a frenzy because someone has guessed it's McQueen that has been offered? Just had a look and he is out of contract so it can't be him who has been offered.
  10. Nothing confirmed they have offered McQueen? I think it is complete bull considering their manager said it will be a struggle for him to play again. Hopefully not, be an awful shame to see Mowbray being given any of the Armstrong money to make permanent signings. The man should be gone and no way should he be getting more money to fritter away giving 2 or 3 year deals to players because they played well for him or against him a couple of times
  11. You said the same the last summer and summer before and they did invest in the team. The club haven't come out and said signings are dependent on an Armstrong sale.
  12. Is Howe actually that good? Getting to the Premier league with Bournemouth was a great achievement but he wasn't anything special with Burnley and spent millions at Bournemouth when in the Premier League. Quite a few jobs in the premier league have come up since and he is still without a job. I'd take him over Mowbray obviously but just not convinced he is as good as the media made out.He wouldn't come up north for the Rovers job anyway.
  13. Either way Butterworth hasn't played enough for you to be so sure he is not up to championship level.
  14. Mate he has been involved a couple of times. You say things with such certainty, you have no idea if he will be up to championship standard or not.He has not played enough to make a judgement. Last season you had the same confidence that Brererton (not saying he has been spectacular) would end up in league 2 or Conference and he ended up playing in the Copa America. All I'm saying is you can't be so certain. Agree a loan might be the best for him but until/if we sign players we can't be letting any forwards out
  15. When has Butterworth had the championship minutes for you to come to the conclusion he isn't Championship standard? I respect you have formed an opinion on Davenport, Chapman and Buckley as they have played but I'm wondering how you can be so certain about Butterworth? I'm not saying he will be but to write him off with such certainty when he has been injured the majority of the last two seasons and when fit was one of the better performers for the under 23s and he didn't look too shabby when he got an opportunity with the first team? I agree not top 6 but it's looking like the taps now turned off for Mowbray and he is here for at least the season so we are most likely going to need Butterworth and hope he can contribute
  16. Absolute joke .Are we waiting to win a couple of games in pre season before we announce Mowbrays new contract?
  17. I asked Crooke yesterday he said he has been told by the club that they have chosen their preferred candidate and waiting for it to be signed off before announcing it
  18. He can play up front ,he can play either side of the 10. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that he can have his breakout season in the championship with us.It isn't his talent that has been holding him back, not every young player needs a loan move to prove their worth. We have a top academy and I fail to believe we don't have players within it to make a difference in our senior squad.A decision can be made on Butterworth toward deadline day
  19. Had Dolan played a competitive game before last year?Granted he wasn't overly amazing later but he played his part . It's not like we have loads of options in forward areas at the minute let's see what he does in pre season and if he is involved in the opening games? He is obviously regarded by the club ,if his talent is as good as they say and he can make a contribution from the bench he will be worth keeping here
  20. Yeah maybe I should have been clearer we dont have the players to implement what he wants tho.So stupidity to stick with it. Like the full backs and central mid are majorly important in what he is trying to do and certainly left back and centre mid we were very weak last season. If a new manager had come in he would have changed the system...full backs playing far too high leaving centre halves exposed and weak midfield couldn't cover them. I think Armstrong will be sold
  21. Think 3 worse teams than us just, even without Armstrong,he had a great season last year and is our best asset,I do rate him and obviously my number one choice is for him to sign a new deal, however a lot of his better performances last year came when we dominated games and creating a lot of chances. When teams hadn't worked us out. Mowbrays formation and tactic when it worked brought the best out of Armstrong,in tighter games he wasn't as good and I don't think we will be blowing any teams away next season, maybe as a team we would be better signing a better hold up player and becoming harder to roll over and share the goals around. His sale might force Mowbray to move away from his "philosophy" as he won't be able to bring in a player anywhere near Armstrongs ability with what he will likely have to spend If Mowbray to stay the season we ain't getting promoted,if no hope of play offs be happy to finish to finish 4th bottom. If Mowbrays deal is renewed after another midtable finish then I would have to consider stopping going until the owners are gone
  22. Why would Sheffield Wednesday have needed clever accounting if they weren't in breach of some sort of financial rule? They were spending decent money. Derby are under an embargo and but for pure luck would have gone down last season and will be fighting at the bottom again next season. Both those clubs get bigger match day revenue than us and on TV a lot more certainly in Derby's case Not saying we are better off than Derby this season but the point I make the owners have been putting in the max that they are allowed which should have us a lot more competitive. The weeds outside ewood and all the things you have grievence with is down to them not having competent people on the ground not because they don't spend money on us.The accounts tell us how much they spend on us
  23. I'd agree with this if it was just one or two players but we have a host of players running out of contract they leave on free transfers,no money coming into the club at all in transfer fees , crowds down ,the owners only allowed to put in so much to cover their mistakes.Worrying times
