  1. Whatever about Brereton(imo a Mowbray signing) ,Sam Gallagher 100 percent a Mowbray signing
  2. He was good at Barnsley.I know you say Pinnock was the key for Barnsley but Lyndsay was very good for them also and at the time of his move to Stoke he had quite a lot of teams in for him. I'm not saying he is the answer, but just because he had a bad time at his current club doesn't make him a bad player
  3. Yes most likely offered by an agent,he had money burning a hole in his pocket and wanted to spend it. I don't believe the theory he was forced to sign Brereton by the owners. The money should have been spent much better
  4. He hasn't been good but he has been mismanaged aswell. The manager bought him with no clue how to use him. The squad as it is isn't good enough to go up or make play offs in my opinion nor is it bad enough to go down. I think Brereton has potential but if we are ever going to see it he will need a run of games, Armstrong had many poor games for us but was always picked the match after. I would rather Brereton,Buckley, Davenport, JRC etc be given chances this season rather than sign a bunch of journey men. If top 6 is to be a realistic target then Quality needs to be signed but some of the names mentioned as potential targets are nothing more than bog standard middle of the road championship players I'd rather go with the kids including Brereton
  5. He has been performing in pre season for me tho, nothing extraordinary but he has done ok and is worthy of a start next weekend. And finance has to come into it unfortunately we are not in a position where we can just write 7 million off without giving the player a proper chance. He hasn't had a proper chance here
  6. Brereton has played well overall in pre season.Like I said in a previous post plenty within the game rate Brereton added to the fact Warburton gave him plenty of starts at Forest leads me to not agree with some assumptions on here that he is talentless and has no decent attributes.Plus I saw quite a bit of him at Forest, live and on the telly and he looked exciting. I would give Rankin-Costello a start as one of the front 3 also and I rate Buckley.
  7. Probably make signings on Monday now.He doesn't have much of a clue to be fair him and the lancs live fella. Mowbray is hopefully just keeping his trap shut now after last week's "we are close to a signing" only for nobody to sign
  8. It was a silly signing by Mowbray in the first place that one. Palmer wanted to be playing the 10 the role we had our best player in
  9. To be fair they were loaning us that Lamptey last January only for Brighton to buy him, that was after Palmer was here, and Chelsea soon sold Palmer who has gone on to do the square root of F all at Bristol City
  10. We had Palmer here the year before from Chelsea and Tosin from another big club
  11. Not exactly Breretons fault that tho is it?That he didn't cut his teeth in the lower leagues? Warburton who at one time many on here wanted as our manager saw fit to start him most weeks at forest when he was manager there. My point is without a proper run in the side he will never do anything here and we be lucky to get 500k for him if he was to leave. He has done ok in pre season and ok after the covid break, think he deserves a chance to show if he can do anything for us
  12. In league 1,he had many a poor game in the championship first season back
  13. He has looked ok in spells like I say nothing extraordinary but ok better than what he has been. He was the wrong signing for the club, the money could have been spent much more wisely I ain't disputing that but I do think he has some talent unlike you and others too many people within the game talk him up too much for him to be crap and a nothing player. Armstrong had many many poor games for the club but kept getting opportunities and now he developed into one of our best players and one of the league's most dangerous forwards. Brereton needs an uninterrupted spell in our starting 11, we paid 7 million and our club can't afford to just write off that sort of outlay
  14. Why drop Brereton? In my opinion he has done well in pre season.Nothing extraordinary but he has played well In pre season. The lad needs a run of games, we paid 7 million for him it's now or never, if he is to do anything here or if we are to cut our losses and sell him next summer then he needs an opportunity
  15. I asked on twitter about Hanley, couple of Norwich fans say he is out injured until at least mid October
  16. Kipre wasn't that unrealistic to be fair.We missed out due to the fact West Brom couldn't get their first choice in, Duffy fecked us over again .If Duffy had agreed to join West Brom then they wouldn't have signed Kipre, no other reason for them to sign Kipre as late as they did other than missing out on other targets
  17. Bang average in your opinion, I thought he was decent and was excellent at Preston. Take your point about his injury though that should be taken into consideration
  18. Like I said we don't know what's happening behind the scenes. For all we know Kipre wasn't our first choice or he was more expensive a few week ago and we couldn't agree a fee. On Bauer Mowbray said he wanted a ball playing centre half as one of our two last season hence the signing of Tosin who is a totally different player to Bauer, why should we have given Bauer guarantees of a starting place? He is ok no more than that. Agree on Reed, Mowbray didn't use him correctly at all. I'm no big Mowbray fan, think we could do better ,over complicates things tactically and like I said his recruitment has been poor overall our squad is very unbalanced but without knowing what is going on behind the scenes I will reserve judgement until next week as we need the majority of our business done by then ,it won't be acceptable waiting till deadline day to see if any of our targets prices are reduced
  19. Did we feck about with Kipre tho? We made an offer it was accepted then a premier league club came in offered him premier League football and most likely a better wage deal. We don't have much money to spend, I agree that our recruitment has been poor,we seem to miss out on a lot of targets after spending time tracking them but without fully knowing what sort of budget or restrictions are placed on the management team then I think it's a little unfair to be overly critical of them
  20. We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. I expected more signings at this point myself but we are trying to bring players in ,Kipre being one. You say every single season that we are in deep trouble...have to sell players etc,we have sold one player of note in 3 years.
  21. Missing out on all these targets presume it will be the D list we will be signing
