  1. It's the position we are In.When we have nobody to sell next year and no decent manager will join because we can't spend any money and are facing another battle at the bottom what will you be saying then? Don't think anyone wants Armstrong sold but it is the situation we are in.We can't be letting our only high value asset at the moment see his contract out
  2. Must have imagined 7 million being spent on Brererton and 5 on Gallagher, not to mention the raft of high cost free transfers. Exactly other clubs sell players which we have to do with Armstrong
  3. The club needs money being brought in.We don't sell Armstrong and he leaves on a free then we won't be able to do anything in the market next season and will have nobody who can bring in the transfer fee that Armstrong can command this season. So you will just be prolonging it.He needs to be sold this season and it's silly to think otherwise. These teams that you go on about spending big money sell players to fund it.
  4. I disagree no championship player who has never been tested in the premier League and who only has a year left on his deal and wants to leave is worth 25 million. I do not believe that Southampton will pay the same money for Armstrong as they got for selling Ings.
  5. Mate Ings left for 25 Million.Armstrong is nowhere near as good.We will not get 25 million. Also let's not forget this story is coming from Alan Nixon
  6. Nixon tweeting Zaha coming as part of the deal
  7. Is the ex Preston North End physio replacing him or does Mowbray have a mate looking for work?
  8. No comment on this by any of the local media?
  9. Especially since they have already sold Buendia to Villa and Cantwell being linked with a move to Villa their two most creative players. If we get a deal worth 18 million for a player with only a year left on his contract then it's a good deal I think. Ings had only 1 year left in his contract and moved for £25 million according to sky sports and he is a proven premier league player where Armstrong is not and is why I thought waiting for 20 million + bids for Armstrong was pie in the sky
  10. That tweet suggest permanent, when Nixon said they will want a large fee for him I took that to mean it will be permanent?
  11. You were adamant a couple of hours ago that the Venkys weren't letting Mowbray bring any players in
  12. Danny ings gone to Villa.Southampton might improve their Armstrong bid niw
  13. I don't know who id sign it isn't my job to identify targets only thing I know both Magloire and Carter haven't yet shown they can do it at championship level ,yet Harwood Bellis came in on loan and took to this level like a duck to water at 18. I want our young players given chances but the likes of Magloire and Carter shouldn't yet be relied upon when the senior part of the team is average and we will be in a battle at the bottom end of the table
  14. It's you who is saying we won't even make loan signings.I don't believe that .Loan players will be brought in. Also you are now saying "Venkys have to agree everything" .Yet earlier in the window you were shouting everyone down telling us all that Mowbray had agreed the budget when someone posted a negative post about our lack of activity in the transfer market. We have one senior centre back fit in Lenihen.
  15. Unless Phili or other posters are in contact with Venkys then they are going off what has been said to them by someone at the club and as we all know nobody knows what the Venkys will do. Also Phili didn't say in that post that Venkys said no to any signings, he said Venkys said no to agreeing to Reach's wages. We will bring players in on loan deals.
  16. Then why is Mowbray,Sharpe and Crooke still talking about loan players coming in? Carter did well but like I just said it was league one not championship. If we go the season with Lenihen,Ayala , Magloire and Carter then we are in trouble
  17. How do you know this?Could it not be that Reach decided to go to West Brom instead of us?Not seen anything anywhere were it was said the Venkys said no to the deal? Also if we can't make any signings at all why did the owners allow a new head of recruitment to come in? And on Carter yes he did well at Burton but that was in league one Chaddy.I think he is a good prospect but last time he played Championship he clearly wasn't ready.Id like to see him get opportunities but wouldnt want to go into the season with Lenihen, Ayala, Carter and Magloire as our only options until Wharton is fit.
  18. Big if that though.Last season we were riddled with injuries
  19. Losing most weeks and potentially getting relegated won't be good for our youngsters either. It's not ideal, and it isn't the way I want things but if we can find loans that are better than what we have then they need adding . Carter although a good prospect and did well in league one last year he was totally out of his depth when given the chance last time. It's similar with the other young players we have, agreed they need chances but we need a few players in
  20. What about staying up?We have already lost our main creator Elliot and are likely to lose our only consistent goalscorer. If we could guarantee that everyone would stay fit then I can see us staying up as there are worse in the league. But if we have a season like last year with injuries we will end up having to use the youngsters who are nowhere near ready.
  21. The squad finished 15th last season with the highest assist maker in the league in Elliot and the 2nd top scorer who most likely won't be here either come 31st of August. Mowbray won't be here next year with any luck so I don't want him being given the money to bring in permanent players but the squad definitely needs adding too. Although I think we have some very good prospects, the loans Elliot and Harwood Bellis are a class above to what we have and I'm more concerned about staying in this league next year so we will be able to attract someone half decent rather than starting again in league one.Our youngsters will get chances to play next season regardless of who we bring in anyway
  22. I wouldn't give him money to make cash signings but feel with the way our players get injured every other week we could do with a few coming in on loan. I'm with you that he shouldn't be given the funds to bring in permanent players when fingers crossed he will not be here next season and the new man won't have to spend his time trying to find new homes for whatever ageing ,injury prone player Mowbray decides to hand a 3 year deal too
  23. So you are satisfied to go into the season with the squad we have?
  24. 2.5? All the reports I seen suggest it's 5.5?
  25. Clarkson from Liverpool is a target according to Sharpe and Cooke. Garner did well at Forest if they are keen on taking him back then I'd say they will be favourites. Whowever we bring in on loan let's just hope they are more like Elliot and Harwood Bellis than Trybull and Braintwaithe
