  1. No you give it a rest with your weird obsession with younger players and being over critical. If you took the time to read my post I said clearly Rothwell is the better player but let's not pretend that Rothwell has been anything but average in his time here. Rothwell has talent no doubt about it but he is 25 and has spent his career in league 1 and the rest of the time on our bench mostly. Rothwell has not YET delivered on his promise the stats clearly prove that.A few nice dribbles and runs that lead to nothing isn't good play imo
  2. Rothwell was poor by his standards last night.I obviously don't mean Buckley is better than Rothwell, but Buckley has had a handful of starts it shouldn't be up to him to take the game to Rotherham.Rothwell is a senior player and he was poor last night.
  3. Buckley played well against QPR when he came on early. He was poor last night as he was against Forest, but Rothwell deserves more criticism than Buckley for last night and against Forest the senior players were poor aswell.
  4. So I presume you would have been against Roy Keane coming here if we had ever had the chance to sign him again later on in his career? Plenty of players will have been open to move to clubs only to be made better offers at a higher level and choosing that option. Fair enough if you don't want him because he isn't good enough but the majority of players would have chosen West Brom over us in a similar circumstance
  5. Ah come on, he has no affinity to Rovers, why would he have chosen us over a chance of playing in the premier league? Not to mention the higher wages he is most likely on? He backed his ability and thought he could break into the West Brom team. And who knows with the change of manager he might get more of an opportunity to play. If he is available on loan then surely it would be a no brainer to bring him in if we could?
  6. He obviously was a good player his pedigree at this level isn't questionable I'm shocked at how poor he looks now though. Black mark against the manager and recruitment team if homework hadnt been done properly if his form doesn't improve dramatically
  7. Ain't most teams up and down the country having similar issues with injuries? Whenever someone on here uses injuries as an excuse for our position we are told all teams are suffering the same?
  8. Also against QPR the game he apparently he did nothing in he put in a lovely couple of balls into the box including one right on Lenihens head that led to Brereton's goal
  9. He needs a chance to show If he can do it.If he isn't going to get a start at home against a team on paper we should comfortably finish ahead of in the table then when would be a good time to give him a chance? Yes he has looked mostly out of his depth but has shown flashes of real quality, players need more than 10 minutes here and there.Agreed hope he can show something tonight and not let the game pass him by.
  10. Yes and Brereton was poor last season and the year before. Buckley had a bad game against Forest he should never start again?
  11. Yes I do appreciate where you and others are coming from but I have belief that I didn't have last season.I think there are more positives than negatives to be taken so far. Hopefully Watford beat Brentford tonight and QPR can get a homw win v stoke
  12. I enjoy the new style as I got beyond bored with the sideways and backwards passing from seasons gone by and I do think attacking is playing to our strengths and when he tried to play a more defensive game results were inconsistent aswell. Although I thought on paper our recruitment was good in the summer, he should have brought in a left back with similar attributes to Nyambe and Nyambe should start every game he is available.Douglas has been poor so far and doesn't have the engine to get back when caught up the field. I don't think we are far away though and I wouldn't be thinking of sacking Mowbray yet.
  13. No Trybull tomorrow night.Wouldnt be surprised to see Downing get a start
  14. Mate all the team's haven't even played each other once ,some teams are still finding their way.No need for surges at this point as most teams are being inconsistent, Bristol beat us then go away to Rotherham and lose. A few week ago we had dropped down the table ,some on here were talking about relegation as a possibility we then went on an unbeaten run and were one win away from being in the top 6. Our next 5 are all winnable. As for not beating any of the top 6 above us it's obviously true but from watching the games we have competed well in the majority of them,Reading and Swansea being the exceptions.Im confident wins will come against the teams above us. Just think talk of the manager being sacked when only 6 points away is too much, fair enough if we were showing nothing in our matches.I would have sacked him last season as I didn't see any progress but I do now and he should be given the next 5 games imo and see where we are then leading into the January window
  15. There are 18 games gone all the team's above us we have to play at least once again and the majority of them at home. Those teams have to play eachother aswell. 6 points at this stage of the season is nothing, one good week of 9 points that would potentially put us in the promotion places. It wouldn't need a surge to make up 6 points between now and the end of the season.I also think it won't take as many points to finish in the top 6 this year as it has in previous years.
  16. The previous 2 years I may have agreed with you but we have played well in the majority of our games this season. 6 points off after playing 5 of the top 7 away from home.I haven't checked it out but I will be very surprised if the teams above us have had as tough of fixtures. And like I said the next 5 fixtures are favourable if we don't pick up a decent points return then I would look to change manager. I wanted him gone last season but my opinion is we are playing a lot better now and have a squad capable of challenging ,a squad Mowbray built.
  17. That's fair enough that performances are immaterial to you but not everyone is of the same opinion. Im of the thinking we haven't looked anywhere near as good as we do this season throughout Mowbray's tenure. Im also of the belief you keep putting in good performances then results will come and it will even itself out eventually, we were fortunate to take 6 points from Millwall and Barnsley. We have had 3 very tough away games and it is very disappointing that we didn't pick up more points, but yet I look at the league table after gaining only 1 point from the last 3 matches and after playing 5 of the top 7 away from home and we are still only 6 points off the top 6. You rightly go on about the importance and quality of Dack so presumably you think we will improve when he is back in the side? Other teams have injuries too granted and Im not using injuries as an excuse we are where we are but it's only 6 points off top 6 with a more favourable run of games leading in to January. If we ain't collecting points in those fixtures then yes I would look to change it.
  18. Im not contradicting myself, at the end of the day it's a results buisness.Im of the opinion that performances on a whole have been better than previous seasons. I'm also practical enough to appreciate we brought in a few players in the summer and have changed the style of play these things take time to develop and I'm confident we will soon start getting results. No offence but you were moaning all summer that you didn't see enough goals In the squad and here we are amongst the top goalscorers in the division. Its 6 points.6 points is nothing in this division.Wins will come against teams higher up I'm confident of that.I fancy us to beat Stoke.A point away at Brentford isn't a bad result. The point at Luton also not a terrible result and we beat Millwall who some on here were tipping to be in the mix for top 6. The next 5 games our all winnable I expect any the very least 11 points.
  19. We are 6 points off for Christ sake. I'm no big Mowbray lover and think we could do a lot better than him but some are acting like the season is over.Yes sitting 12th currently but one good week in this division abd the table looks a lot better. 6 points from the next two and we are guaranteed to move up at least one position.Id give him the next 5 games and see where we are at then.If still being inconsistent with results and it looks like we are set for another mid table finish then I'd be hoping the owners would look to change it. Agreed results need to be a lot better but we are competing ok and look better than previous seasons.
  20. We don't know what Johnson is doing ,maybe he is working one on one with players? Brereton has improved as have others. Johnson has said he has no interest in being a first team manager. He must be happy doing whatever it is he is doing though haven't heard any rumours of him moving on
  21. Johnson has said he has no interest in becoming a senior team manager. And come on Mowbray has plenty of faults as a manager but that last statement by you is just nonsense and questions his integrity, you are basing that off nothing
  22. Man marking according to Bennett on ifollow, he critized Norwich's use of Zonal marking on ifollow
  23. I agree we should be targetting a win today at home against a good but beatable side. 5 points off having played 5 of the toughest away games suggests to me we are challenging for the top 6.Home results going to be key to getting there though
