  1. Well if Brereton is playing as a striker then so is Gallagher when he comes on.They both ain't playing as strikers
  2. So because he doesn't know where the 6 yard box is he doesn't add value to the team? I appreciate I come across as a Brereton fan boy and admittedly I lost my rag one of the days and sounded quite condescending in my posts to you and others which IL apologize for but This season Ben Brereton is worth a place in the side. He scored a handy goal against Watford and 3 assists against Coventry and has had a hand in a few other goals. His movement and dragging players out of position has improved drastically.Good when he drives at the opposition with the ball at his feet and has won countless free kicks which we never do anything with. He was poor against Reading and wasn't great against Swansea. He obviously wasn't worth the 7 million and he doesn't have a strikers instinct but he still adds value and potentially could turn out to be a very decent player
  3. I'm not being obtuse, I'm asking you a question. As in you have knowledge of them being on the verge of leaving, I'm saying what the media reported so am asking the question have you knowledge there was more to it.
  4. You know this as fact that Lenihen and Dack were on the verge of leaving? As far as I remember,we turned down a substantial bid from West Brom for him January before last and Sheffield United had numerous bids turned down and walked away.
  5. Yes against Watford
  6. I saw the same thing it's just some guy making stuff up on Facebook going off the comments
  7. Is Evans still in the side?
  8. Well id see how things work without pushing the full backs so far forward and I'd play Nyambe against the better quality teams with the better quality player. But 4-2-3-1 isn't bad either , plenty of teams play attractive football with that formation
  9. Chaddy I have enjoyed some of our football this season but it's evident when we have come up against the better sides our full backs playing so far up the pitch is leaving us exposed. If he wants to play them so far forward then Nyambe should be playing always against the better sides, playing such a way the full backs need to have the pace to recover and get back.I think Douglas is a good player but he doesn't have any pace ,and his best season In the championship came when playing wing back but Wolves had 3 centre halves capable of covering when Douglas was caught up the field.Jrc isn't quick either We have good attacking players and should have enough in the front 6 to create sufficient chances without the full backs having to be so far forward, I'm not saying the manager should completely drop this system but it certainly needs tweaking against the better teams.
  10. When Gallagher was considering his next move once Southampton made him available for transfer ,I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during the talks with Mowbray. Surely like every other player discussions must have been had about his role in the team , can't quite fathom why Gallagher chose us he did have other options. It's beyond stubborn that Mowbray keeps playing him wide, he just can't accept he is wrong
  11. Bristol city having even worse luck than us with injuries Weimann out for the season, Mawson out for 6 month and Sessegnon out for a spell
  12. For now.Fair play to him and Reading for their stary to the season. But João has always had hot n cold spells. At Wednesday he was unplayable in some games then goes missing that's why they sold him .If he could find consistency and play at his best level most the time he would be playing at a higher level, very talented player
  13. What are we doing turning down a 10 million bid for Lenihen that is crazy. In my opinion he is better than his current form showing but even at his best worth 3 million max
  14. Is the reading manager a rovers fan?
  15. He should have started Nyambe and played Rankin-Costello in Evans position.Reading have a bit of pace in the side so he goes and leaves our quickest defender on the bench.Crazy The subs had me baffled, still think it's very early days but that was extremely bad.
  16. 19:40 I think the steam goes live on that
  17. Which bookies? Most IV see have us at 11/10 or 21/20 while Reading are 11/4
  18. It isn't the same tactical attitude. Yes he will still baffle us at times but on the whole our football is a lot better than in previous years. We move the ball so much quicker now and it moves forward rather than sideways
  19. Forest 13 players unavailable including a midfield 3 of Johnson and Evans and Buckley, name me another championship club who wouldn't struggle in those circumstances? .Cardiff I will give you but still no Elliot, Douglas and Trybull. Last season or season before can't be comparative with this season, practically half a new team and we are playing a different style than we have done under Mowbray in the past.
  20. We are playing a different system and likely 4 or 5 in the starting 11 that haven't been at the club in seasons gone by. Think it's a bit early to say we are shit in these type of games with the new additions and change in formation and style.Agreed we have been poor in the past in these type of games but I can't see how we can compare this team with last year's
  21. Rothwell will still be isolating I think mate
  22. I never said Lancastrians you must be on about someone else? I said I have heard Brereton getting abused at matches which I have. I never said rovers fans collectively are worse than other supporters.?
  23. He has been poor but in my opinion he was mismanaged also. He was the wrong signing to bring in, that 7 million should have been used on a proven player or 2 rather than a project. But im sensible enough to realise Brereton didn't place the price tag on his head, as far as I'm aware he has never come out saying he was worth that sort of money. I just don't agree screaming at a 19 year old that he is a useless donkey etc is right. And I was beyond annoyed after the Forest game to be met with a post from a fellow rovers fan gloating that Brereton had a shit game.I have often thought a rovers player has been shit but iv never ever been happy when he has had a poor game so I could be proven right . Even when he has 2 excellent performances in a row same poster gives no credit. This season Brereton has been very good and he deserves credit for it
  24. I'm not back tracking I have heard it many times fella ,IV no reason to lie about it. Brereton has often been called a useless donkey on here so your telling me it doesn't happen at the ground, yeah right. And as for my other point about fans not giving credit when it is deserved, read this thread or the Watford thread and see for yourself
  25. Who has said we have poor supporters? Since it was one of my posts you replied to last night I presume you are saying I'm one of them. I responded to a post that said it was a myth that Brereton gets abuse, I have heard it myself so just responded it wasn't a myth. And the evidence is on this forum on my other point, Brereton failing to get any credit for the good things he has done. You and roversfan are trying to paint a picture that me and others are having a go at the fanbase which isn't true, what I said was a fact he does get silly abuse from some sections.Iv seen on more than one occasion being blamed for losing the ball when it was someone else, Brereton wasn't even near the ball. And he was getting it from nearly day one, he had played a part in no more than 2 games for us when he had "fans" jumping out of their seat to scream at Mowbray for bringing "that donkey on"
