  1. Standing up the minute Brereton comes off the bench and screaming at Mowbray why are you bringing that donkey on, many more times people jumping up and screaming you useless donkey at Brereton when it was someone else who lost the ball. I don't get it either but what else do you call gloating when a player for the team you support plays badly .Then when he does play well fail to give any credit instead say it was "only Coventry" and pretend the good performances he has had this season haven't happened
  2. So that's an excuse to throw mindless abuse at a 19 year old lad who had no control of the size of his fee?Not in my book And I genuinely believe some posters would prefer to be proven right in their opinion of Brereton rather than see him come good. Sure one poster was nearly jumping for joy when he played badly against Forest
  3. I have said many times a lot of things about Mowbray that I don't like and I agreed with you previously that Mowbray got things wrong against Forest. In my opinion the squad isn't set up to sit deep and invite pressure and hope for a goal by hitting them on the break like some suggested we do against Watford. I can nearly guarantee that if we sat deep against Watford and lost the game 1-0 we would have the same people calling Mowbray an idiot because he should have gone more attacking and had a go. You never seem to remember the quotes but they are there like the where other day about Brereton "dives" and how it's a myth people don't have it in for Brereton. And btw just because you don't hear any Brereton abuse at the ground doesn't mean it doesn't exist...I have heard it myself from the people sitting behind me many many times
  4. Yes it fine not to get carried away, that isn't my point, basically giving no credit tho that isn't right, saying things like only Wycombe and Coventry or making out both hammerings were because of sendings off when we were already 3 up and through for a potential fourth in one of the matches and like iv said in previous posts Wycombe,Coventry and Derby haven't been getting hammered in their other matches. Its also a good sign to have had 3 sendings off against us so far and we were unfortunate that Watford didn't have one sent off aswell.Teams are resorting to fouling us because they can't deal with the movement of our front 3.
  5. I need to calm down?IV not said anywhere we will finish in the top 6?And yeah it might be only Wycombe but my posts are in response to you making out we only hammered them because they were down to 10 men until I pointed out to you we were already 3-0 up. A bit like other day when you said you couldn't understand Mowbray's transfer buisness not bringing in players better than what we had , despite the fact 5 of his signings this window look like they will be first choice I think it's other people who need to calm down ,many posters ruled us out of contention for top 6 after the Forest game when none of our deadline day signings were involved.
  6. Brereton played very well against Watford n midweek
  7. Well you must dislike 99% of players in the modern game then as all of em take a dive. And all of Breretons free kicks where fouls wether he went down easy or not
  8. Armstrong was through if he wasn't taken down ,most likely would have been 4. And I take it you didn't see the match as every time we went forward we looked like scoring when it was 11v11
  9. Yes but against both Forest and Cardiff we had nowhere near the first 11 I expect to play the majority of the season.Douglas, Trybull and Elliot will be major players for us this season and add Dack when he is back. I believe that with the attacking players we possess creating chances will not be a problem, but we need to be more clinical. The thing I just don't believe the squad as it is is built to go and keep thinhs I'm not fawning over the new style or saying we will definitely make the top 6. But it's like this, on deadline day the majority of posters were buzzing with our signings. The very next day we play Forest,We play shit and lose the game. All of a sudden the posters who were happy with our deadline day signings are now saying things like "no chance of top 6"" we can't create when teams sit deep" "we will be closer to relegation than promotion" All that was said without any deadline day signing included or having played a match for is yet. Pre deadline day I and I presume others felt if we didn't add a couple, a left back certainly then we wouldn't make the top 6. We added quality, had a very good window so surely it only right to wait till we have at least played a few games with the new additions before coming out with such statements. I also find it quite sad people downplaying the hammerings we fished out.Yes those teams are not great but they ain't getting hammered every week either and against Wycombe we were 3 up before any sending off. Some of the same posters calling us fast track bullies are saying Reading for automatic promotion when they have played mostly the weaker sides in the division
  10. We were missing 13 players,5 or 6 starters v Forest. We were poor in both the forest and Cardiff games. Thing is im not the one saying things like " no chance top 6", "we will be closer to relegation than promotion" I have made my position clear, too early to judge one way or another but one thing is for certain I wouldn't be predicting doom and gloom when we signed 5 players over the summer that will improve the first 11, with 3 of them being at the club for 8 days
  11. Not difficult to comprehend just find it extremely sad anyone would dream of labelling us so soon In the season when we have nearly half a new team. Or liking posts that suggest our two hammerings were down to our opponents were down to 10 men despite being 3-0 up already in one of the games it finished 11v11. No big massive rants about Brereton either yesterday?Or maybe you want to criticize him again for the amount of free kicks he wins with his "diving"
  12. A recurring one?See I don't get why we are comparing this year's team with seasons gone by? We are playing a totally different game to what we have in previous years. Half the starting team is also different to previous seasons.Kaminski ,Ayala , Douglas, Trybull and Elliot.Add a much better looking Brereton and Holtby seemingly having found a position. Our style and the players are much much different so think it's way too early to say we struggle to break teams down .I can't see how this team ,squad and tactics can be compared in anyway with previous seasons.
  13. Yes but they ain't getting hammered every week. I responded to a post where it was said 2 of our 3 hammerings were against teams down to 10 men. I just pointed out we were already 3-0 up in one of those games prior to the sending off and the sending off had nothing to do with the victory. In response to you we deserved to lose the game against Watford, but Foster did have to make a number of saves,we created plenty of chances and missed a penalty. They were also fortunate to keep 11 men on
  14. In that case Coventry and Wycombe should be getting hammered every week.Add Derby to it aswell.Maybe leave the season progress a little and give the new players a chance to settle in before labelling us flat track bullies.
  15. We were 3-0 up already against Wycombe before any sending off. Both sendings off were when we had players running through on goal. Should have been a sending off In the Watford game also when Armstrong running through, just tells me teams are struggling to defend against us and have to resort to fouling .
  16. I'm not giving Mowbray a free pass as he could have changed it around tactically but at the same time I appreciate the players that were out make a big difference.Especially the midfield 3.And if other clubs had 13 out,5 or 6 starters I would expect them to struggle aswell. I also think its unfair to criticize Mowbray for not including Douglas and Trybull, both had been signed 24 hours before and both had 1 competitive game between the 2 of them this season. Also you and others keep saying we have only beaten the dross of the division, which is true but I haven't seen those teams being hammered too many times like we have done to them. Some are now calling Reading automatic promotion candidates, yet the majority of their victory's have been against the weaker sides In the division
  17. It's too early to judge and like you say our big wins have come against the weaker teams. The one thing I take issue with is people adding the Forest game when analysing our season so far.We had 13 players unavailable,5 or 6 of those could be considered starting players. When I seen the side put out pre match I was not confident one bit we would win the match. Cardiff, we were poor no arguments from me in that game but still we had the most clear cut chances and it was criminal that Gallagher missed that chance from 2 yards out. We conceded 6 in 2 matches against relegated sides in Bournemouth and Watford.2 teams who have far superior squads than most the division and we did not have what you would consider our first choice defences in both games. The only other goal we have conceded is a deflected shot against Nottingham Forest. There is a lot more poorer teams in this division than good. The talk of us being in contention for automatic by some I find far fetched, but on the evidence so far I do think we will be amongst the top 6
  18. I think the defence will be much improved with the arrivals of Kaminski, Ayala and Douglas and hopefully Trybull can give a better shield in front of them. We have conceded 7 goals so far 3 each coming away at Bournemouth and Watford who are both blessed with much better attacking talent than most the division, and conceded a deflected shot v Forest. Still the style Mowbray is implementing will leave us open at the back,IF we can start being a little more clinical in front of goal then we will have too much for most teams.
  19. The two games we have failed to create chances were against Cardiff and Forest. Against Cardiff the conditions were atrocious and against Forest missing half a squad, and at least 5 of those we would have to consider starting players. It's still too early to judge how we will fare this season but I don't see many teams being able to cope with our attacking players
  20. He has played well in front of a crowd though. Not here granted but he did do it at Forest when Warburton was in charge
  21. Another good game by Brereton
  22. He was on paternity leave, he returned and played against Watford. So Available today
  23. For me Watford have far better players than us and will be going for automatic. We will be fighting for top 6 but won't go near the automatics it's as simple as that .We perform as we did v Watford we will beat Coventry. You didn't say goal threat last week you said he doesn't do anything in threatening areas I then gave 2 examples of how his play led to two goals ,him hitting the post for Dolan to put away and his driving run before playing Rothwell through for an assist which led to another goal.Of course he needs to start scoring goals to come anywhere close to justifying a 7 million fee, but THIS season he is contributing and adding value to the sid
  24. I don't expect to win at places like Watford and Bournemouth currently no because they have much better players all round than we have.I expect those to be competing for automatic, where as we are not at that level we won't be near automatic spots. I do expect us to try and compete though which I think we did.I think Watford deserved to win the match on Wednesday night but at the same time I'm not blind to the fact we created more than enough chances to pick something up and I don't think Mowbray is at fault for a mixture of poor finishing and top goalkeeping. I don't think if we had gone defensive and/or doubled up on Sarr that would have led to us getting a result, and like I said in a previous post I also don't think starting Douglas would have either. In my opinion if we perform going forward as we did against Bournemouth and Watford we will beat a lot of teams in this division, our opponents won't have the same class to capitalise on our errors.
