  1. Some good players on that list but very much doubt we would have got Gallagher for 2 million and he is on 23k a week at Southampton. Iv heard from a couple of people that we did enquire to take Reed on a permanent deal but the player himself still hopes to make it at Southampton.
  2. I was asking Mercer a question if it doesn't interest you then skip past it? Fair enough its off topic so il reign it in but pretty obvious i was'nt i wasn't talking about Brererton so no need for your smart arse reply
  3. Where have you been?Funny no posts of praise when we were picking up results and playing well? Also be interesting to hear your thoughts on Dack and the fact the club reportedly turned down a deal with West Brom that could have potentially netted the club 15 million?Didn't you say you were 80% sure that Dack would be sold in the summer?
  4. Last night's performance was terrible but in the majority of the games we have competed well and given most teams a problem. Let's not be too dramatic,we have still had a decent start to the season, not brilliant but decent.
  5. I would have the same team as you.If Mowbray won't play Rothwell in midfield then i would have him wide and Rodwell in the middle alongside Evans. We need something different in the midfield,Evans and Smallwood are too similar, obviously Mowbray thought Smallwood wasn't doing his job last night and took him off and it would send the wrong message to the likes of Rothwell and Rodwell if he sticks with Evans and Smallwood after the game's they both had last night. Id possibly start Williams ahead of Bell, feel he is better defensively and although Bell probably edges him in terms of an attacking threat he isnt doing enough attacking to warrant a starting place.Last night especially first half we had a few opportunities to break away down the left and bring Armstrong into it but Bell's touch was so poor and heavy he ended up just giving the ball back to Sheffield United and leaving us under pressure
  6. Exactly so if Rothwell had started then we wouldnt have had to look for Dack all game,Rothwell would have caused them more problems than Armstrong. We also have Palmer who i havent been that impressed with but he has scored 3 goals and has done well in previous loan spells in this Division. We have some creative player's that the manager brought in,its time he started to use them. Maybe if we stopped thinking about the opposition so much then we would have put our own stamp on the game tonight and not made it so easy for the opposition. Sheffield United are a good side yes but lets not act like we were playing Man City.We lost our unbeaten record tonight without putting up any fight at all. Reed was the only player who started tonight that was'nt with us last season. Like i have said i think Mowbray has done a great job but im not going to lie he does do some crazy things and make me scratch my head the mulgrew situation tonight being one of them. If its evans and smallwood together again on saturday il be annoyed
  7. Yeah so why keep hoofing the ball up to Graham then? Chaddy you are talking like Sheffield United are Barca?I presume you think they will get automatic promotion? Sheffield united are a good side but we played into their hands too...Mowbray was outwitted tactically and he didnt have an answer.
  8. Imo you are being over the top with your praise for Sheffield United. They are a good side but we also made them look good, we couldnt string two passes together and we just kept hoofing the ball up to Graham who had 3 defenders around him
  9. Mulgrew not starting for 1.Don't understand why we would leave our captain and 1 of our best players on the bench, clearly he was fit otherwise he wouldn't have been brought on at half time with the game scoreless. I also would have started Rothwell in place of Armstrong as i feel Armstrong isn't there yet to be starting in the Championship but his pace is a great weapon to be able to bring on in the later stages of the match. I would have brought Rothwell on at ht we needed someone who could get a hold of the ball and bring Dack and Graham into it. It was always going to be hard for brererton to make an impression Graham had spent all game feeding of scraps
  10. If you have a sky subscription you can watch it on the app on your mobile phone or tablet
  11. What was Mowbray's reasoning behind not starting Mulgrew? Nobody is saying that Mowbray should be sacked but you don't think he deserves any criticism tonight? It was all down to Sheffield United being a brilliant side and nothing to do with our tactics or team selection?
  12. Agree that all the midfield were poor and i do think Smallwood has been better since the international break but overall Evans has been better this season.I think we need a bit of quality in there, id give Rothwell a start or maybe even Rodwell. The reason we play so many long balls is because Smallwood or Evans just don't have the quality to make thing's happen. Im trying not to be knee jerk but that was beyond woeful tonight.I really want to know Mowbray's reasoning for not starting Mulgrew.
  13. You can't want Smallwood to start after tonight surely?
  14. We need somebody in the middle of the park who can get their foot on the ball and drive the team forward(Rothwell) or someone who can play a forward Pass(Maybe Rodwell if he is fit enough). Evans and Smallwood should not be starting together definitely not at home anyway. Every time Rothwell has played he has showed an urgency to get on the ball and has been one of our better player's yet Mowbray only gives him half hour here and there. Mowbray has done an excellent job and on a whole the club is in a much much better place than it was prior to him joining but he needs to start being a little braver with both his tactics and team selections and he has to stop being so loyal to the some of the lads who got us promoted.Smallwood has been better since the international break but was dreadful tonight and he doesn't deserve a starting place in the next match.
  15. Yeah fair enough i agree with you that it is a worry considering the fee we are paying but it isnt his fault the manager and club decided to pay that out for him. Sat in Blackburn end row 23 and few behind me screaming lanky shit every time ball went near him.Graham was also useless today because the service into the front men was either non existent are just terrible. Mowbray needs to find a position for Rothwell and play him most weeks, we need more quality we have too many soldiers starting every game
  16. We CAN'T cancel the Brereton deal as has been said on here numerous times. Agree on the witch hunt, yeah he hasn't been good but to be fair best striker in the world would have struggled tonight with the piss poor service
  17. If Rothwell doesn't get a start next match he never will. We were very poor tonight. Bell's first touch is awful. Can't understand why Mulgrew didn't start? If he is fit enough to come on at Ht at 0-0 then surely he was fine to start the game?
  18. If Mulgrew is fit enough for the bench he should be starting. I would have started Rothwell in place of Armstrong. Very strong bench
  19. I agree with that but i dont think if we draw it can be looked on as a good point. Id possibly find it acceptable on the condition we beat Bolton on Saturday. But a draw tomorrow followed by a loss or draw against Bolton then i wouldn't be happy with a point.
  20. They are a good side, and we have played enough teams who we have considered good sides and have been unfortunate to not be on the winning side against some and have beaten others. If we want to be in the promotion mix then i feel we need to be winning this game, if we draw and then don't beat Bolton on Saturday then 2 or 3 points from the last 3 games will be a poor return. We are unbeaten in 25 games at home and although i respect Sheff United and admire the job Wilder has done il be disappointed if we don't claim 3 points tomorrow.A point would have been ok of we had held on against Forest but if we want to be mixing it with the teams at the top end then i think we need 3 points tomorrow
  21. The White Swan been awarded a michelin star
  22. What's the latest on Nyambe?Be interesting to see who he play's rb midweek.Id probably pluck for Bennett. Armstrong played ok when he came on but id be tempted to start Rothwell and leave Armstrong as an option from the bench as i think what he can offer at the moment is more of an asset at the later stages of the game. Sheff united be a tough game but if we do have aspirations of being in the mix for play offs we need to start picking up 3 points at home Rovers 2-1 Graham,Dack
  23. Played well in patches, first 20-25 minutes we were poor. Need to start turning these draws at home into wins. Don't feel we need to be starting Reed,Bennett,Smallwood and Evans at home
  24. Be hard for Mogga to change the 11 that beat Stoke so would expect Mulgrew coming in for Williams being the only change. However this is a home game and a match we should be looking to take 3 points from and i don't really see the need to be starting Reed, Evans, Bennett and Smallwood together at home. Id like to see Rothwell and Bennett either side of Dack, then 2 out of Reed, Smallwood and Evans for the midfield positions.
  25. At least that is a bit of good news. Now I can make sense of Mowbray starting Lenihan tonight. I have to wonder why Downing was given a full time deal though, if he isn't going to get minutes in a game like tonight's when exactly is he going to play?
