  1. The domestic window running from the 5th to the 16th is going to be a nervy time if any prem league strikers get injured as prem clubs can't buy or loan from eachother can only buy from EFL so Armstrong would have to come into their thinking https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12028475/transfer-window-deadline-day-key-dates-and-times-for-summer-2020
  2. Barry Douglas a top left back at this level but if he is the left back we bring in then Bell will still end up playing a lot of games,Douglas gets injured an awful lot
  3. It was a dig when he had a decent game you just wanted to dig at him.If you don't like what I say put me on ignore.I won't be winding my neck in if I see a petty post like the one you made Apologies I have read your posts since and you give credit to Brereton, I will wind my neck in.Without doubt his best game in a rovers shirt fingers crossed he can add a few goals to his game
  4. Brereton has played well was involved in all 3 goals.Pretty pathetic digging a player out when we are 3-0 up and said player is playing well 7 million signing or not
  5. Brereton had played well.Dolan looking good and Rothwell has been quality
  6. Ah come off it no way is that the reason
  7. I have not seen enough to form an opinion of Whitehead. But I really think Buckley will prove you wrong. You can see in the matches he is growing in confidence, always asking for the ball. His assist for Arma was worth the tenner alone for ifollow last week imo
  8. Well we bid 900 grand for Kipre as I do believe that bid was genuine not a ploy to fool us fans , I'm not claiming we are spending fortunes but we would have had to commit a nice few quid to get Ayala here, I don't believe a player of his quality at this level wouldn't have had other offers. We will get at least two more in,they may be loans but they cost aswell.Preston have done nothing and according to their chairman are not likely too. You make a valid point about a group of our own players being in the same boat so we need to find the money to offer these guys new contracts aswell.
  9. Preston haven't bought anyone this window and Risdale said no incomings.Their best player Pearson is also out of contract end of the season and doesn't look like he will be signing a new contract. Giving people the option of a refund on the season tickets is the right thing to do but WE are all on the transfer thread demanding money to be spent on signings aswell. Waggot hasn't handled the ticket situation well but at least we are spending some money and trying to improve the team to sustain a promotion challenge
  10. Started watching Raised by Wolves last night, first episode ok 2nd was better
  11. He does need to start scoring goals no doubt but at least his progressive runs are now leading to either goals or chances, he might not get the assist but his run played a major part in Armstrong's second I know only against Wycomb but I do think he is getting better with each game, he is far off looking a 7 million buy but iv been encouraged with what iv seen from him this season
  12. What are you trying to argue here that the owners don't give a crap about us?I think that obvious to most. They don't care, we are just one of a number of businesses that they have. At the same time I can't understand why you expected us to go on a spending spree this summer? The reality is the club has hardly any income so it isn't a case of our incomings being covered by the outgoings. We have hardly any income coming into the club, other clubs in this division who have done any significant business have sold players to fund it. You bang on about promotion being the only thing that matters yet you are dead against the loan market? Seemingly wanting us to buy permanent squad fillers to replace Smallwood,Hart, Samuel etc instead of using what little money we have to improve the first 11. You don't take into account our youth and their development as your posts read like you are nearly crying when it turns out we were never interested in players like Naby Sarr who got relegated last season. On one hand you moan about Mowbray and the club's terrible recruitment but on the other readily accept Venkys are putting in the minimum and the manager's hands are tied by having to get the deals signed off in India. They have spent money, we are in debt, have already had a transfer ban for overspending.Just think it's totally unrealistic to expect us to be splashing the cash in the middle of a Global pandemic where a lot of people's jobs are at risk.Id rather the cleaners,Stewards, tea lady etc etc etc kept their jobs rather than us spending a bit of money on journeymen to pad out the squad. IL add the manager has been backed last 3 years there can be no arguments with that.Even you can't argue with that. One sale for 3 million in 3 years. In that time he has brought a lot of players to the club and a lot of players got new contracts,he has been backed. You can't argue with that the evidence is there for all to see
  13. I don't need to understand finance to know your full of rubbish. From the days of your bookie telling you we were selling one of our starlets(Raya before he became a regular)to West Ham for 4 million, to Your contacts hearing Venkys are selling up,you hearing that Rhodes very close to joining Bolton then Wigan, every window coming on here with your doom and financial expertise informing us all that a fire sale will happen only for it to never happen.I can go on or is that enough of me repeating your knowledge that never ever happens? We will not make a big sale this window and savings of 10-20 million won't be saved. How much you want to bet?
  14. That still isn't 10-20 million and like you say Ayala and Kaminski have been brought in a 3 year deal for Ayala and 2+1 years for Kaminski. We will bring in at least 2 other players so it will be nowhere near 10 million never mind 20
  15. You say this every window about a "big" departure. What happened with that 10-20 million we desperately need to find by slashing the wage bill and selling players? You sold Rhodes more times than Nixon did
  16. Compared to last season Buckley is demanding the ball much more was evident in the Leicester friendly and in both the Newcastle and Wycombe where he visibily demanded the ball of a senior player. As the season progresses see him playing a big part
  17. Cheap squad fillers ain't going to get us promotion though JH. You want money spent on replacements for the likes of Samuel, Hart and Smallwood players who contributed next to nothing last year. The budget is small surely any funds should be used to improve the areas we lack in the first 11, a left back should be priority followed by sub keeper and then midfield if finances allow. If we had the money to bring in quality then I may agree with you but cheap squad fillers are not going to proprel us to promotion they would only serve to add to the wage bill and block our promising young player And if all you care about is promotion why are you bothered if we loan players rather than sign them permanently? All you do is have a go at the club or manager, never come across someone who moans as much
  18. West Brom won't be spending money on Armstrong they ain't spending much more.Bringing in Niang from Rennes as a front player
  19. Created 5 chances in his 22 minutes on the field according to some stat I seen on twitter. He looks quality on the ball but still feeling his way in.I agree with oldgregg he is going to be a big player for us
  20. So you think the loss of Downing ,Tosin and Walton will make us relegation candidates if we lose any through injury? The rest of the departures hardly played. Rankin Costello seems to have taken to championship football, Buckley improving with every game, Improvement with Brereton, the emergence of Dolan.Dack, Evans and Gallagher to to come back from injury. I agree we are a few short of a sustained promotion challenge but the squad as it is will finish in the top half
  21. I agree it's not good enough but the talk of two centre backs was on the provision we lost Williams,he is still here and ok cover at centre back. We need a first team lb and a competent number 2 goalkeeper
  22. Buckley's pass yesterday for the goal was just class. If we are chasing the game like at Bournemouth I hope the manager will bring him on rather than Evans still can't quite understand the substitution. Armstrong is looking dangerous, 25/1 before season started to be championship top scorer. Hopefully no prem team comes in with a bid before deadline day
  23. Even if they don't manage to sell Brewster they will end up losing him to a Prem team ,he has interest, Sheffield United would buy or loan him and he has already shown he can do it at Championship level
  24. I agree on the Lb and back up Goalkeeper being priority but I don't think the manager does after reading his comments which is fairly worrying
  25. The other day we were close to a left back he said now no need for a left back we have other areas that need improving and bugger all money.Plus didn't we bid 200k for Pears? All very odd Only a theory but perhaps Mowbray is willing to sell Nyambe to use some of the fee to bring in a couple as although Costello had a good game very odd Nyambe was dropped
