  1. The player himself requested to leave. It's hard to keep a player when they ask to leave to be fair bit we sold him for peanuts He will be joining Arsenal to sit on the bench though.Martinez been outstanding for Arsenal since Leno got injured but now back fit Martinez being sold and Leno will revert to being number 1 again. Agree with the rest of your post we sold for peanuts.
  2. To be fair it happens quite a lot were agents try to get extra out of the buying club at the last minute. Even happens with the big clubs, article on Liverpool's failure to sign Fekir due to last minute agent demands https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-transfer-news-live-sancho-18899252
  3. 3 million for their second choice left back who is out of contract in 12 months? No wonder we struggling to bring people in
  4. Well it looks like we have come up short anyway with Ayala looking close to joining a new club. With Kipre he most likely would have signed within our budget only for west brom coming in and offering a much better deal
  5. We would have done it with Holtby last season he would have got a significant signing on fee to come here on our wage cap. Just saying that's why we could have been in negotiating with Ayala. Its not as simple as his previous wage being much higher than our current ceiling there are ways around it and it was spoken about last window by Mowbray when we brought Johnson and Holtby to the club
  6. Ayala previous wage is above our budget but available on a free we could have offset the reduction he would have taken on his wage by upping the signing on fee
  7. Losing Tosin,Downing and Walton will send us down? The other departures played bit parts. We need new signings but go down?We won't
  8. We need 5 in might get away with 4. We have lost 8 players but Smallwood wasn't involved, either was Hart Samuel hardly involved, Graham's influence had dwindled. Downing,Tosin and Walton only really played week in week out. The likes of JRC, Buckley ,Davenport and Butterworth/Vale will give more of a contribution than Hart, Smallwood and Samuel.
  9. Who on earth was going to come in and agree to sign Mulgrew on his current deal? You are living in a dream world if you thought that was going to happen. The mistake was giving him the contract in the first place.Getting whatever we can out of Fleetwood or another club is the best we can do
  10. Latest line from the telegraph is that Aston Villa could hold the key for us bringing in a better standard of player. They in for King who Sharpe believes we have 20 percent sell on and they in for Martinez at Arsenal and if they sign him , Arsenal will look to bring in Raya as his replacement.Sharpe speculating we have a 15 % sell on clause
  11. Why?The manager is given a budget, last summer HE decided to spend the majority of it on Gallagher and I don't care what you or anyone else says Gallagher was a Mowbray signing. The Venkys have made nice money selling defenders since their arrival,I think it's a fairytale that the owners block signings of defensive players. The Tosin 1 year loan deal was expensive in itself .
  12. We bought him from Gillingham he joined us in league one didn't seem like there was a que of clubs in for him,we held most the cards when negotiating that contract as he was desperate to leave and we were the biggest club in for him. Now he has proven himself he holds all the cards, we will get to extend but in my opinion unlikely he will sign another contract so say we be looking to sell from when be proves his fitness etc after his injury
  13. We had similar with Graham, it's an option written into Dacks current contract, if the club are happy they can extend for a further 12 month.Nothing Dack can do about it
  14. Surely Mulgrews agent would be doing so or do we know that hasnt been tried by the club.He has been available for over a year
  15. Him and the manager have fallen out, he won't play regardless so if Fleetwood are interested and nobody else who could pay a higher portion of his wage comes in then surely we should just let him join Fleetwood. If he stays he won't be considered anyway.
  16. He has obviously fallen out with the manager and he isn't up to playing this level anymore. I doubt very much we are waiting on the little contribution Fleetwood would be able to provide to secure a signing ourselves. Agree we need defenders in asap but Mulgrew will not be playing even if he does stay, to me it's logical to get him off the books, he shouldn't have been offered a lengthy lucrative contract in the first place again a mistake by Mowbray. Seems there is a conspiracy with everything Rovers do in your mind.
  17. Villa close to signing Watkins, good player but 28 million for someone who has never played higher than the championship.Silly money and everything that is wrong with the game. Wonder if this signing will put an end to their interest in Josh King.
  18. This is a loan deal I would be against.United would want him playing, I doubt very much he would be available to buy at the end of the deal as is rated at United and we have enough young midfielders ourselves in Buckley, Davenport, Travis etc.
  19. For what it's worth Nixon reporting that Mulgrew to Fleetwood is close
  20. Oh my god .Then why agree a fee for a centre half in Kipre? Also find it hard to believe that Mowbray sat down and discussed his transfer plans with a player we haven't even agreed a fee for. How can he be happy with what he has at centre half when we don't have Tosin anymore who started every week and is looking to move Mulgrew on and is open to letting Williams leave. Sorry but no way on earth is he not looking for a centre back
  21. No evidence we agreed a fee for Kipre?
  22. I'd say Dolan was brought in instead of him
  23. Yes that is an option I could agree with. We have paid off loads of contracts or had players stay and hardly play on lucrative contracts I would much prefer our younger players be given the chance than sign players who realistically won't take us up a level and get us into that top 6. I'm open to loans if they are of high quality and can take us up a level.
  24. How much was he on a week? They signed him for big money did they not?
  25. You have a point about giving our own young players a chance rather than loaning in others. My argument is Mowbray had a decent enough budget last season HE chose to buy Gallagher with it and bring in Johnson,Downing, and Holtby who might have been free in terms of a transfer fee but they would have got significant signing on fees to make up the difference in a reduction in wages so he had only a little bit of money to play with in defence so chose to spend it on a higher quality loan rather than paying a million for a permanent signing ,a million quid gets you nothing these days unless you have an excellent recruitment team or get lucky.Chances are if we had of made a permanent signing for that money last season we would all be debating now why did we buy him and who are we going to buy to replace him. Now it sounds like we don't have much money to spend again and what we have should be spent on the first 11 centre half and left back and I wouldn't be against paying the wages of someone like Mawson a decent defender for a year rather than buying someone and giving them a 2 or 3 year deal when we know deep down isn't the quality to get us up or push us up another level.Like Sarr and Lyndsey are ok but are they really the players that we all think will push us up to the level were we want to be?
