  1. I don't think Brereton or his Agent are in any position to demand large wages. I take yours and others points that if he comes in for the price being reported then it looks unlikely that he wouldn't be amongst our higher wages. But in this instance the player or Brereton's Agent don't have much bargaining power. What' his alternative, stay at Forest, don't play and watch his value decrease? He is only 19,pure speculation on my part but I can see him signing for a weekly wage of between 10-15k, heard he was on 5k a week at Forest so will double or triple his pay, possible clauses in his contract that will see his wage rise. Sharpe and Nixon both suggest that his wages wouldn't be earth shattering.
  2. Yeah Mowbray. I don't believe Mowbray is the sort to have a player forced on him.
  3. Mowbray said we are close to one and hopefully done by the weekend, if it was Bauer he wouldn't be playing tonight
  4. Bauer playing again for Charlton so I'd say it's safe to say we can rule him out as being the one that Mowbray said was close
  5. It will be a dissapointment though Mark. I'm sure Tony will be as dissapointed as the fans if we don't bring in a few quality signings
  6. Deals have already been done that will become perm in Jan since the permanent window closed. And like you say it can just get written in the contract. And even when Rhodes joined Wednesday it was initially on loan and becoming permanent once the next window opened. Have to say those quotes from Mogga left me confused when I read them.He talked about getting clarity from the EFL and Premier league, I mean surely if anything needed to be cleared up then questions would have been asked and answers got by now.Only 10 days till the loan window closes
  7. Can't understand why TM has said this though.Clubs have already done deals on loan with a binding deal come January 1st
  8. Not really , the teams in need of a striker most likely don't have the funds to pay the fee. The bigger sides who do have the budget are most likely covered up front and if not can pay higher wages than us so they would most likely target someone more ready and experienced. Brereton can play his part this season but we are buying potential not ready made.
  9. Yeah he does but in this instance to me it's clear that Forest want to sell him
  10. Nixon reckons they got an agent to let clubs know of his availability. Yes I know it's Nixon so have to take it with s shovel of salt. A week and a half till deadline day so we will see but I reckon we will get him.
  11. Forest will need to bring in some money though. They have spent big this summer,If they didn't want to sell they wouldn't have made him available.According to reports it was Forest hawking him around. Do you really think we would still be negotiating if forest had given no encouragement that a deal could be done. As for your first point he is fit now, there is no reason why he wouldn't have featured for their u23 team yesterday apart from protecting him from an injury that could put a stop to a potential transfer
  12. I'm the total opposite to you.I think we will sign Brereton.Forest clearly want to sell, they ain't even involving him in their under 23s.We seem to be the only team bidding for him. Its dragging out because Forest want to get the best possible deal, I think it will end with Forest being a bit more reasonable with the deal and he will end up here. I think it's Bauer and Freeman that we will struggle to bring in.If Bauer plays for Charlton tonight then I think we can forget that one and QPR are continuing their stance that Freeman is not for sale
  13. I don't get that quote from Mowbray. Clubs have already done loan deals with a obligation to buy. Norwood from Brighton joined Sheffield United on loan and it will be made permanent for 2.5 million on Jan 1st
  14. I think what he meant was teams tend to pay a premium in the January window that's why his valuation is higher in jan
  15. You will need to be paying for sky sports. Not sure if it's available via Now tv
  16. It would make it more likely that the owners would provide more funding if we made a nice profit on one or two. Every player has his price and let's be fair about where we are in the food chain and I don't have a problem with us being a trading club, selling someone for a healthy profit and reinvesting a nice bit to go again.IWe may have to go down the route anyway to keep within FFP. I don't think any one is saying they are looking forward to making a profit on any new signings but they are being practical, if Brereton signs and a couple of seasons down the line we make profit it will mean he has performed well for us.
  17. Sims from Southampton has joined Reading on loan for the season.Good signing
  18. I don't believe that story. Why would Leeds want him? Sharpe on Twitter said that it's not one he has heard and doubts there is any substance to it
  19. They want to get the best possible deal they can, let's be honest if it was one of ours being sold we would want the club to get as much as they could. It's obvious he is available, wasn't playing for their under 23 today and isn't being involved with the first team but Forest like any club want to get the best possible deal. I can see this transfer going down to the wire, I do think we will end up getting him but will probably be next week when Forest are backed into being a bit more reasonable with their valuation.
  20. For what it's worth Forest under 23 team played QPR today and Brererton wasn't involved, not In the squad.A couple of out of favour senior players did play, Zach Clough and Jamie Ward.
  21. How do you know what Mowbray said in that interview was about Brereton? It could have been Freeman?Bauer?Another player that the media haven't linked us with.
  22. Every signing is a risk tho. Some have asked why we didn't go for Grabban.Grabban would have no re-sale value,is probably on over 30 grand a week at Forest and he has failed at a couple of clubs. Some are bemoaning the fact we should be targetting more experience but I doubt very much The chicken chokers would sign off on a big fee and wages for a 28-29 year old with not much scope for a profitable sale. The prices of players has gone crazy and honestly i can see only a 10+ goals a season would see us being able to sell Brererton for a profit.19 years old,English, has pace, lovely touch and will score goals in the right side. Like Waghorn has been average or worse than average most his career, 1 good season last year and he gets sold for 5 million.12 months earlier Rangers where practically giving him away. Freeman who we have been linked with from QPR has gone from a 350k buy to now having bids of 4 and 5 million turned down for him. I'm quite excited about the potential signing of Brereton.I can see why others have a downer on it and want a more experienced striker brought in but in my opinion i don't think we would spend big on an older striker. If we have the money then I want to see it spent, it's all good saying why don't we wait till January or next summer where we have more time to buy someone more proven than Brereton but anything could happen between now and then this supposedly healthy transfer budget could disappear and we will be back to spending penny's.
  23. Or a player that has huge potential who could really add something to our team in the immediate and long term future. It depends which way you look at it. Iv seen this lad play a few times and has never failed to impress. And no disrespect to any one who is against the Brereton signing but he would have been scouted,Mowbray will know a lot more about his attributes and what he can bring to the squad than any one on here to be fair, I doubt very much the club would be persuing Brereton and placing multiple bids if they don't think he has anything.Im happy to back Mogga's judgement and my own two eyes from watching him.
  24. Dack didn't train today.Mowbray hopefull he will be fit for Wednesday Williams likely to be out until the international break
  25. Bolaise at Boro for talks. If he joins surely opens the door wider for Chapman to leave
