  1. It's not Nixons story he knows nothing about it
  2. When does the transfer window officially open?As the EFL will announce the embargoed clubs prior to that
  3. What about Villa, Derby ,Sheff Wednesday etc...they have spent absolute fortunes over last few years and no sign of them being given an embargo. We have spent hardly anything last few seasons I find this article hard to believe. Also why has Mowbray been telling us about going to India to find out if how much of a budget he will have etc and been talking about bringing in some good players etc. I think this few lines in the paper is mischief making
  4. We can only hope that the manager returns from India with good news.If the owners give him a decent budget then I won't have an issue with the rising season ticket prices but if he is given penny's to spend il still buy a season ticket but will fully expect ewood to be close to empty with home fans next season
  5. It was 8.5 million in league one but surely our players had relegation clauses in their contracts that meant their wages dropped?Presumably now we have been promoted their wages will increase?I'm not sure how it works to be honest.Dack is also deserving of a better deal and I would presume the club will be looking to give him that as I'm sure other clubs will be looking at him.So the wage bill will rise before any new players are through the door
  6. Oh aye I'm not saying we should go 3 at the back.My point is if Mowbray does see 3 at the back as the way he wants us to play then his recruitment needs to be tailored to that formation.
  7. But maybe the right midfielder being bought could bring it all together.I like Smallwood but he isn't a passer same with Evans who I'm not a big fan of they both can t really spread the play.We need someone who can pick out a long pass not short passes to the player nearest them
  8. Agreed. We would need a deep playmaking midfielder somebody who can pass the ball and start moves. Whittingham was obviously brought in to that role last season. Perhaps this Hibs fella we have been linked with can do that job
  9. The wage bill was only 8.5 million last season but I presume our higher earners in the championship had to take wage cuts last season. Not sure how it works but now we are promoted do their wages go back up to what they where?
  10. Although I do agree that manager's should be given time but sometimes it obvious a change is needed.Case in point is Pardew at West Brom, I bet the owners regret not giving him the sack earlier if they had they could well have stayed up this season
  11. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6220693/watford-bournemouth-celtic-callum-mcgregor-transfer/ It's not specifically about Johnson just mentions him scouting this Celtic player for watford
  12. Is Tommy Johnson still at rovers? His wiki page still says head of recruitment of rovers and there has been nothing said by the club about his departure or maybe I missed it?As I just read an article online where it said he was scouting for Watford.
  13. In fairness to Mowbray he has said he wasn't happy with the scouting system we had in place. It will be fairer to judge him on recruitment now he has implemented the changes he wanted
  14. Yeah but do the players who took pay cuts due to relegation from the championship go back to their original contracts now we have been promoted? Our wage bill this season is quite low but if those players do go back to their original contracts then our wage bill could rise significantly before any new signings arrive
  15. Why would you keep Gladwin? He had one decent season at Swindon a few years ago he has done nothing here or at his previous club.Has Mowbray said he is part of his plans next season or something as I'm really struggling to understand why any rovers fan would want Gladwin to still be at the club next season
  16. Yeah you are correct.Suprised he got a 2 year deal although I doubt he could be on much of a wage.So if he wants to play then maybe both him and the club will come to an agreement which will see him moving on
  17. Does Caddis have another year?I thought he only got a 1year deal?
  18. We will agree to disagree.I don't see Rovers being interested in Henegan. We did have an interest Last summer..a year is a long time with this new scouting system Mowbray has been talking up I'd hope we can do better than a Sheffield United reserve. Downing did do well but he won't be starting next season and we have no idea wether he will be good enough at championship level You want us to sign two new wingers.Sign Armstrong and Payne. So can I ask where Conway and Gladwin fit in?I take tomphils point about his experience but if we do bring in wingers then Conway has rarely started this season so if we sign players in the position you suggest then he will be further away from the first team. The same with Gladwin who has done nothing of note since his Swindon days. You also want the youth to be given a chance which I agree with but everyone can't get a game chaddy so no point giving a new deal to Conway of being going to contribute on the field and not a chance in hell of Gladwin becoming a regular in my opinion
  19. Chaddy why do you keep suggesting Henegan from Sheff United. We were interested last summer but he moved to Sheffield United and has hardly played. They obviously don't think he is ready for the Championship so why should we be interested in him. On Gladwin what have you seen from him that makes you willing to give him a chance? Keep Conway....Keep Gladwin plus you want us to sign players this summer are you wanting us to have a 35 man squad next season. We shouldn't be keeping the likes of Gladwin. Conway has been a great servant but his time is sadly up he should be let go to make room for new additions.
  20. He had Ipswich playing some ok football and was getting them in and around the playoffs before they sold his two best players in Mings to Bournemouth and Murphy to Newcastle two player's McCarthy brought to the club that they sold on for 15 million. I think they paid something like 10 grand for Mings and sold him on for between 8-10 million and then sold Murphy to Newcastle for 5 and Mcarthy saw hardly any of that profit invested back into his transfer kitty. He did a very good job,he spent a pittance and made the club good money and kept them comfortable. They should be getting angry with the owner for not giving McCarthy a bit of cash especially with the profit on those two
  21. What a goal by Neves for Wolves 'WATCH: Neves scores stunning volley' http://www.skysports.com/share/11326846
  22. It must be that source from the fox n hounds telling tales again
  23. I thought someone said on here we had got 250k for him?
  24. There hasn't even been talk of a Norwich bid. There was a couple of lines in the paper saying Norwich eyeing up Dack.No mention of figures.Norwich wouldn't be able to afford what we would want for him
