  1. Strange how his career has gone. Remember looking on in envy when he was at Brentford. Remember at half time at ewood their players looking professional going through drills whilst ours played kickabout like they where down the park with their mates.
  2. Have you watched mindhunter thought it was quite good. Narcos is exceptional
  3. Supposedly Sheffield Wednesday are lining up Paul Lambert to come in if the sack their manager.Be interesting to see how he uses Rhodes if he does get the job
  4. Great result.Mowbray has stopped tinkering too much and in spells we have started to play some good football unlike at the start of the season.Fair play to the manager . Happy to see Tomlinson get game time,I will be beyond disappointed if Harper comes straight back into the 16 and Tomlinson is demoted.Harper hasn't pulled up any trees in his performances and although I wish the lad well our own promising youngster like Tomlinson should have priority over helping develop some other clubs player
  5. I enjoyed it.Would definitely recommend you watch it Iv just finished The man in the high castle, an Amazon prime show based on a novel.Really really good series
  6. It's nice seeing some of our younger talent putting pen to paper.I have to admit I thought I'd see a lot of our more talented youth moving on in search of more 1st team football
  7. Anyone been watching Mindhunter on Netflix?4 episodes in,first episode was a bit slow but with each episode gets better.Already been renewed for a second series
  8. The pathetic thing is knowing venkys it will be David Lowe who is given the caretaker role. I'd like to see Johnson being given a chance but with the way the club is being run he may not want it.A young manager has to make the right choice when taking their first job in senior football and he may feel he is better waiting for a club with a competent board and structure behind it
  9. It doesn't look like any of these lads will get a chance with Mowbray in charge.I Don't understand it,he is happy to bring in a 17 year old from west brom but won't reward our own youth despite their excellent form. The telegraph should be grilling him about this
  10. Ditto, guess we have Caddis to look forward too again tomorrow
  11. How many of those 70+ appearances where starts? How many where up front on not on the wing when a blind man could see he wasn't a winger
  12. The thing with a player like King is even if he does nothing all game his presence on the field stops the opposition squeezing, the defence can't afford to push up as one decent ball over the top and King would be through on goal as not many defenders would beat him for a pace. Our midfield was so poor at the time and opposition defences could afford to push up with Gestede and Rhodes playing up top.He didn't get many chances playing up front here JH but I can't argue that his attitude or application weren't up to much either.
  13. I'm not excusing his application or attitude but in my opinion if we had a more experienced manager we would have got more out of King.If Mark Hughes had been in charge we would have seen a different Josh King
  14. How did he have chance after chance? He rarely played up front for us and he never had a consistent run of games in all his time here..He was also quite young at the time and I do think a more experienced manager would have got more out of him.Eddie Howe didn't take him to Bournemouth on the back of one game against Stoke he seen potential in him,he didn't start great at Bournemouth but Howe stuck with him and he is now being linked with moves for 20 million. So presumably you would take Gestede back over King too?You speak a lot of sense most the time but saying you would bring back Rhodes over King at this time is madness
  15. He hardly ever played up front though JH.If Mark Hughes or someone of his ilk had been at the football club when King was here then in my opinion we would have seen a lot more of King playing as a frontman and got a lot more out of King. If tomorrow morning Rovers had the choice of signing either Jordan Rhodes or Josh King you would choose Rhodes??
  16. I do get where your coming from but when he was given a game he was put out left. His attitude and application could undoubtedly have been better but Gary Bowyer could have used him better too.King seen himself as a striker but was very rarely played there,i don't lay all the blame on Kings door for his disappointing time here the club could have used him a lot better
  17. King was rarely ever played as a striker though. Not excusing his attitude but I don't know how I'd feel never getting a game in my best position when he has since gone on to prove he has a lot more talent than both Rhodes and Gestede Speaking ofrom King the media are reporting that Everton want to buy him to replace Lukaku I'm sure have a sell on clause
  18. Graham has been a mega disappointment this season. I agree with Tyrone above though,Rhodes wouldn't score goals in this side, currently anyway. We don't create chances, that might change if Mowbray finally decides to start Chapman and play Dack in his position
  19. When he refused to take a penalty in the shoot out in the play offs last season
  20. I can only speak for myself but my criticism of the Downing signing had nothing to do with him being a sub against us.It looked to be a panic buy,get someone in the door after missing out on Heneghan. He did well at wallsall but when he made the step up to mk dons he wasn't a regular. In fairness bigdogg Mowbray himself probably isn't sold on him,I'm sure mk would have preferred a permanent transfer
  21. He could very well have talent. But he could also be the best of a bad youth team...I don't know. What I do know is West Brom where very short in midfield when he played, they only gave him a two year deal and have shipped him out for a season of that.He doesn't play in a higher age group for England. He could turn out to be a player but at 17 I'm not expecting him to make a telling contribution in which case the signing only serves from preventing our own contracted youth gaining experience
  22. You said brilliant....Ito in the deadline day thread
