Agreed it does look like we have missed a big opportunity has been a long time since we have had anything near 5 mill to spend on one player. If the money was there all summer though surely someone who could have improved our first 11 could have been brought in, we cant have exhausted plan A,B,C,D,E..... Maddison is available he might not have been Mowbrays first second or third choice but if the money is going to disappear next window a move should be made for him , pay a loan fee and agree it becomes permanent jan 1st
-
But you admit the money was there and we did bid for players at the prices reported.Mowbray confirmed this. I agree with the other points from reading that it looks like only loans and I wouldn't be surprised In the slightest if the money goes missing And in fairness not many people have said the window went as planned ,I mean pretty obvious the squad is lacking

They are still trying to bring in Bolaise and Besic on loan if they get them then no chance he will get any minutes for them this season

Transfer Window - Success or Failure

If you go onto the lancs telegraph website Mowbray's comments suggest Nixon was talking shite about there being a late influx of extra cash. Mowbray said the budget has always been the same since his visit to India and confirmed the bids for Freeman and Brereton. Also says we agreed a 4 million fee for a player earlier in the window but lost out to another club as we couldn't match the wages offered -
Hull are no great shakes,if we go there and start from the off and play on the front foot then I can see us winning this one. If we win 5 points from the opening 3 games wouldn't be the worst of starts

Ah we will Sky won't want to hurt Lampards feelings by banging on about it -
I wasn't crediting Venkys was just making a point that we have now heard it from the horses mouth that we did in fact have the figures mentioned on deadline day and it wasn't a ploy to make the fans think we were trying in the market. The only time i'l thank Venkys is when they accept an offer from someone to buy the club
-
From reading that it sounds like it will be loans with no option to buy. Although I'm a fan of Brereton I wouldn't be keen on him just coming on loan as it will only benefit Forest and the player long term not us. If it's just loans with no view id rather more experience. Nixon was saying all summer that we only had a very limited budget so obviously when he heard that we were bidding relatively big money came up with the Chicken killing story to cover his back. Hopefully with this article it will put to bed the theory by some that we didn't bid 4 or 5 million for players and they weren't pretend bids.
-
You should have learned your lesson after you guaranteed that Shrewsbury will finish ahead of us last season. It's obviously a frustration we haven't bagged a win yet but I honestly don't see this squad struggling at the bottom end and I do expect us to bring in a couple on loan that will give us more options
-
I think you are doing Millwall a disservice by calling them a run of a mill side. Yes they ain't the most glamorous of sides but they finished 8th last season and had an excellent away record. They also were unlucky not to be at Boro last weekend who will be up near the top this season. Agree with you about the start of the match but second half we looked in control and on another day Graham would have put 1 of those away. Should go to Hull looking to win,TM will hopefully be positive and not too cautious with us playing away
-
Yeah some hip injury I think, don't think it's too serious
-
Unless someone else is brought in Bennett should be in Centre Midfield next week. For all Smallwoods hard work he just doesn't look like he should be starting in the Championship. Would be a bit unfair of me to completely write him off but his performances in the last two games don't warrant him starting next week.
-
On another day Graham would have buried one of those chances. He should have taken the second one around the keeper. Millwall finished 8th last season and were unlucky not to win last week against Boro. Agree with you on needing a few players in, but second half they hardly had a kick unless it was to foul one of our players I was encouraged with that 2nd half
-
Look the only thing that comes out of your mouth is negativity, how many times were are players fouled in the final third? Rothwell had a decent attempt and Armstrong had a bit of a mare on a couple of occasions to get a decent cross in. Like I said you are talking nonsense and 90% of people who were at the match would say the same
-
They where better in the first half and unlucky not to go in ahead hitting the post twice. But in the second half they hardly got out of their half it was all Rovers and over the 90 we deserved the 3 points and that really isn't me speaking with blue and white glasses on
-
Did you watch the game?I doubt very much that you did, first half we weren't great but second half Millwall barely got out of their half. And if you did watch then you don't have a clue! Agree with the Smallwood part
-
Brereton isn't starting or on the bench today
-
A few of us have wanted to see Bell get a start ahead of Williams for time now.Up to Bell to have a decent game and give Mowbray a decision to make
-
Yeah definitely, need a decent loan window
-
A knock according to official site

Injured

Nixon didn't say that, what he said was IF Gallagher isn't banging on Hughes door on Monday asking for a move away then you would probably avoid if he is just willing to pick up a wage and not play. He has gone on loan the last 3 seasons. I would prefer Brereton, massive potential only 19 and played 53 times already at championship level.
-
Brereton for me

Hope the match is better than that awful fa cup match under Appleton. What a good job Neil Harris has done.Seen them a few times last season and was surprised how good they looked Won't be easy but with our home form I'm hoping we can sneak a win.4 points from the 1st two would be an excellent start
