Must admit that I couldn’t really understand why he didn’t collect the ball with both hands rather than using the one hand to parry away when he came racing off his line with the striker coming through. -

Played some really good stuff but once again, just not clinical enough. A fantastic team goal but we should have this game safely in the bag but for missed chances. -

Cracking goal that, thought we had overplayed again when Cantwell put the ball into Travis but what do I know 😂 -

Travis had to be quicker there on the transition, we are always far too slow. -
John Eustace - our head coach

Damian Duff has a bit of the Roy Keane about him, he doesn’t suffer fools and as such, he wouldn’t come within 100 miles of the club in its present guise. -

He would probably offer as much goal threat from there. -

He would have the same bag of shit to work with, on the executive side and the playing side that JDT and Eustace have. Anyone coming in here, has a reyt old bag of shit to work with. -
Makhtar Gueye
Penwortham Blue replied to NeilInBristol's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It isn’t looking good, strikers generally need an early goal at their new club and unfortunately, it hasn’t happened for Gueye. The first few games looked promising but since Burnley, it has just gone downhill and now, off the cliff ! A real pity that he didn’t bag that one last night, it could have been the monkey off his back and seen confidence high and more goals to follow but rather than a relief valve goal, the burden is now almost intolerably heavy. It certainly feels like Chris Brown II but I think we have little option but to persevere and just hope, he scored goals at Oostende and although it didn’t work there either, Zaragoza must have seen something to sign him up. Just pray that somehow he gets one soon 🙏 -

I really worry about the future of our club. Everything about it is broken. The Ewood experience, as a supporter of over 50 years, is getting worse and worse and I’m not even taking into account the fare being served up on the pitch ! The crowds are now pitiful, there is no atmosphere, no rousing support from the half empty BBE and just no sign of this being turned around, despite the winning streak prior to the last two results. I don’t blame the manager, I thought we played well last night but once again, poor players missed important chances. Unless we can move in an entirely different direction with new owners to give hope and some renewed enthusiasm from attending and non attending dormant supporters, we will continue in ever increasing existential crisis and our club staring into the abyss. The reported fact that we have just 4,000 Adult ST holders left should have us all extremely worried for our club. It is very much a 2 way street but pride in our club works both ways and our life blood has now been drifting away for 15 years and that is the real symptom of the Venky disease. -

I thought we played well tonight, there was no lack of effort but somehow we contrived to miss chance after chance and Stoke, who were really poor, got very lucky. I actually felt sorry for the Manager and players tonight, we deserved much more. -

How do they expect anyone to believe that they have any interest whatsoever in our club, when they don’t speak to the manager looking after their ‘baby’ at any time over the last 3 seasons. -

An honest answer but perhaps he should have elaborated to cover raw pace and replacements for Dolan and Hedges. I still think with better players at 10 and wide to create, and given support up front that Yuki can score goals. -

I haven’t seen it back yet but at the match, that was definitely my immediate thoughts on the first goal, Dolan totally failed to get in an effective challenge for the ball. JRC then messed up but Dolan had the initial opportunity to stop the threat. -

Nothing about Blackburn Rovers in 2024, is conducive to a promotion push ! -

I think we were holding our own until giving away a really poor first goal. The problem is that we just don’t have an offensive threat, we may as well play with two short if we insist on picking Dolan and Hedges, neither of which appear to have any confidence, pace, ability to pick a pass or goal threat. Given this, I don’t like it but can at least understand Eustace’s strategy to stay in a game and try to nick one but if we concede, it is very likely curtains. I agree with the Cantwell comments, I think he will very quickly be thinking he has made a bad decision. He won’t be happy playing with poor players in front of small crowds in Ewood’s morgue like atmosphere. Venkys continue to kill our once proud club, both on and off the pitch, very sad. -

We were reported to be after him for the last few windows. How on earth can we allow Adam W to sign for Palace without at least securing the loan of their winger, what we have been crying out for for years. -
I think they picked up the goal scoring Gueye and the Finnish lad we were rumoured to be interested in

FFS, have we had more than 45 minutes from this lad yet. Sod’s law that as soon as he is deemed ready to play from the start, he’s bloody injured and our wait for a proper winger continues. -

I couldn’t agree more Jim but I would be absolutely amazed if that wasn’t the case. There is no way an EFL team does a 200+ mile journey on the morning for a 12:30 kick off, not even one with Waggott / Pasha at the helm. I didn’t check the train schedules but as a very frequent traveller on the Preston / London route, it is very rare that the train stops at Watford Junction, unlike the old days where it was always last stop before Euston.
