  1. That can’t be the case, no self-respecting, honourable manager would allow himself to be undermined like that.
  2. Don Mackay, for all his good work was only ever the bridesmaid. £180m-and-rising, we need a bit more.
  3. Not when you’ve already spent all you money at Ben and Gally’s. The ‘too expensive’ excuse rings hollow when you throw £12m at the wrong problem.
  4. He must be scoring too many goals from there and needs a new challenge. Or Mowbray is losing the plot.
  5. Downing nets off with Conway but Raya and Reed (and even Rodwell if used correctly) are greater losses than we’ve gained. If we had replaced Leutwiler (not Raya) with Walton, and Smallwood with Johnson (and kept Reed) I’d agree with you.
  6. Well done @OnePhilT. Top fella.
  7. “How to be a better fan” Not so much a book as a 10-step guide on a click-bait Facebook page. 1. When your half time pie burns the roof of your mouth, consider it an opportunity to cleanse your pallet by take another swig of your (half full) pint of the finest Fosters...
  8. That’s not what I said at all but that’s some amazing spin. I guess our transfer business so far must be a source of huge optimism for you.
  9. I look forward greatly to you being right. Sadly, history suggests otherwise.
  10. Not it’s not, it the definition of “experience”. Enough of these experiences leads to “cynicism”. But when it comes to pass it’s called “hindsight”. Then the glass half full (so called positive) fans erases their memories and we begin again.
  11. I think it depends what you are trying to achieve. It was a part of a change of culture at City. Not necessarily better from a purist point of view but hugely successful. Having done that, they’ve pretty much changed it back.
  12. Maybe he doesn’t like them. He’s pretty much been treated like crap - particularly by Zidane who seems to simply not like him and preferred other players.
  13. In contrast I can’t say I’m that impressed with Ramsey. He’s grinning like someone who passed their oral GSCE having read the words from their arm but no-one noticed!
  14. Me and you would be an upgrade on Evans and Smallwood. But that’s not the point, we haven’t upgraded our midfield because Mowbray now has fewer and poorer options to choose from. And the fact that Reed and Rodwell were both played out of position is not a positive for Mowbray.
  15. Johnson didn’t replace Smallwood or Evans, so far he has replaced Reed and Rodwell. Unless you think Tom White has replaced one of them.
  16. Yet we signed him on a new three year deal last Summer. Somebody must see something in him.
  17. Wharton is a really really odd case. He should be pushing for a first team place - especially now, given how thin we are there - yet he could easily be loaned out again. I had high hopes for him but I’m really not sure why he is still our player.
  18. Tom, there’s no chance he is going to be number 2 to an experienced keeper. He’s a loanee number 1, with an inferior, but cheap as chips, Leutwiler on the bench and both of them will report to the text book king. We have not improved our goalkeeping unit at all. Let’s hope Walton is a self-starter. Maybe him only being on loan will give him some incentive to impress. The other thing we need: an experienced, agricultural Championship standard centre back. What are we going for? Another kid to ‘help’ the first team (Tony’s inner circle). Ironically the only position we have actually upgraded this Summer is bringing in Gallagher for Brereton - all without admitting it was a mistake to waste our budget for two season while allowing other positions to regress. Mowbray is the Jason Roberts of football management. He can have the odd blinder - usually when he attacks with his instinct - but give him a decision to make and he will male the wrong one.
