I’m thinking about how shit he was for Bumley. They tanked when he was in goal. But they were used to Heaton and Pope and downgraded to Hart temporarily. Time now, for us, Hart is probably still an upgrade on recent keepers.

That he preferred to start both Evans and Smallwood rather than find a system to incorporate his best XI. That he thought it a good idea to spout about it in the press in April and all but send Reed back to Southampton.

I’m not sure what to make of that. Negative opinions about the football team, or negative comments about the site or admin? The latter, I completely agree. People who help out on any voluntary basis are the real heroes out there. They deserve everyone’s respect, whether you are with their personal views or not.

In the context of defence, I hope some of these plans start to come to fruition some time soon. Because it feels like there is no plan and we are just reacting at the moment. Are we even looking at defenders until another one leaves? Right now, we don’t have a credible first team goalkeeper at the club.

Personally I was more impressed by Butterworth than Buckley.

The worst thing about all this is that replacing Raya like-for-like doesn’t address the fact that there is no real competition for the number one shirt (lack of motivation) and a coach who knows less about goalkeeping than the guy who comes in (lack of development). It’s a shame we can’t spend this “same budget as last year” on a package deal for a number one, number two and a decent coach. Marshall or Kuszczak, plus Fielding and Kiely (or Freidel), in. Leutwiler to the U23s and Fisher loaned out to a L1 side. All a pipe dream obviously. Oh and we still need a cb.

After hearing a lot of talk in the press (main news rather than sports section) about it all, I’ve flicked over to catch some of the Women’s World Cup Final. For this level, the standard is utterly embarrassing. It’s like walking football at times and the passing and control is something you’d see in grassroots. I keep hearing this term: equal pay? Equal to what, a League Two apprentice? Because if they want the same as their male counterparts (internationals), without any increase in the commercial revenue (gates, sponsorship, transfers) then there’s an argument than all men playing professional football should be paid the same too - that’s how daft an argument it is. If this is is the pinnacle of the women’s game then it still has a long way to go.

I’m not ITK, I have no contacts, no sources and no friends. No way is Travis on his way to any Prem clubs. This sounds like a fabricated story (not necessarily by the poster) which will be seen as a success when we manage to hang on to him. It could even be an opportunist agent looking to take advantage of the current uncertainty to try to get his client a new deal. Let’s focus on getting in a keeper.
