  1. @OnePhilT 2018/19 and 4.2 work really well. Smooth, zero lag. Just gone back to 2019/20 and its still really laggy so there is definitely something in the theme I’d suggest. Cheers.
  2. The actual tweet... Weasel words that sound even more like BS. Who is thinking about Scott Dann, Al? You? His agent? His mum?
  3. That suggests then that we have £10m (last years spend) plus the Raya fee (let’s say £3m). £13m plus wages? Honestly fella, I find that extraordinarily hard to believe. If we had that kind of money we could have played hardball with Raya and Brentford while we got ourselves sorted. As always, I really hope you are right!
  4. It really doesn’t sound like it... https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17754290.david-raya-wanted-brentford-move-says-rovers-boss-tony-mowbray/ “It gives us the ability to regenerate money around our squad and strengthen areas of the pitch that we feel we need to strengthen in,” Mowbray said. “We’ll recruit another goalie and we’ll use the money to recruit and strengthen in other areas as well”.
  5. As a talented but inexperienced keeper, who are you going to listen to (and therefore learn from) the most? An ex pro who has done your job successfully for 20 years and knows every move you need to make, every starting position, every likely mistake you are going to make before you do? Or some bloke who has read a lot of books and watched a lot of videos? It really is that simple. Football is as much a mind game as physical one - especially as a goalkeeper. Friedel was a master at the psychological side of the game. His preparation before games was meticulous.
  6. Not sure what that means though, does that include wages? The £10m that we spent (or didn’t spend depending on who you believe about the Brereton fee) last Summer really has muddied the waters. I’ll be amazed if we spend £10m this Summer. We have had to sell Raya before we can bring in a replacement.
  7. TM speaks about prospects of signing ‘kid’ Charlie Adam. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/july/boss-pleased-with-adam-impact/ You have to think he is going to be brought in. If I were him I’d have at least had a shave though.
  8. We’ve made two free transfers, having lost Conway and Rodwell off the wage bill and seemingly selling Raya will allow us to spend, but we need to replace him. Is there any real evidence that “we’ve got the money”?
  9. Oh how Nixon must laugh at fans when he makes this shit up unearths these scoops.
  10. He said exactly the same thing about Downing.
  11. I didn’t see it but as you’ve given your fair share of digs out you should be able to handle it.
  12. A bit like this argument you are trying to invent.
  13. We don’t really have five weeks though. This needs to happen quickly. Losing our number one (for two years) is quite a big deal. This needs nipping in the bud.
  14. It’s a good question. Is it lack of money, or lack of ambition? It’s hard to defend Venkys over Mowbray. But we are in the midst of a mini crisis and Mowbray himself says that he is telling Venkys not to spend. Tbh, I’ve never heard of this Pontus person but it sounds like neither have our scouts. We need a signing that all of our fans can get behind but I feel like this has been the case for about three years.
  15. One thing we can all agree on! I must admit, I’m very worried about the gk situation.
  16. Granted, and in the context of the thread that’s fair. I just hope that Mowbray’s head hasn’t been turned. The trouble is that he’s the kind of manager who spends £7m on someone whose biggest achievement was that he gave Conway and Williams a hard time in one match.
  17. A Championship side winning against non-league opposition should be a given. The concern is that the only person who stood out (by far) is a past-it trialist. I’m hoping we drop our interest very soon and prioritise bringing in the defender that we need. And that assumes we have a keeper lined up.
  18. Fret not, young Leonard. The ad will be in the LT jobs page on Thursday.
  19. (You know it’s bad when you photoshop Yosser’s tash onto someone and you can barely tell!)
  20. Assuming we haven’t had scouts looking at players, which as we all know is completely pointless, then you’d have to look at things like experience, fitness, potential (short and long term), most recent season, circumstances, and the contract terms they would require. You do not judge them on performances against teams two divisions lower and more. Even on a pay as you play he would be taking up a squad place so he needs to be able to deliver success on the pitch in the second tier of English football this season. Rodwell had some credibility because of his age and potential, while Adam would be an emotional signing rather than a sensible one. A huge gamble.
  21. Would definitely be found out in the Championship. Avoid.
