  1. You don’t have to employ anyone that you don’t want to. Pretty sure that agents are not a protected characteristic against which there are grounds for discrimination - although give it time.
  2. It’s a good question. On the face of it, I think for a time, we should have, or had, a self-imposed ban on using that agency. If it was an agency that owed us money I’d suggest that we would stop using them until the debt was paid. I’m not sure that what people associated with that particular agency cost our club will ever be repaid. While we continue to deal with them the stench will remain.
  3. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/september/qa-george-boateng/
  4. Someone remind me, is George Boateng still at the club? If so, could this be where the Dutch scouting mission has originated from? Maybe Boateng has contacts that he has been able to tap up.
  5. Not sure Salford would want them. But that would make them a Manc team! Ouch.
  6. Wow, that would be ironic if both rivals ended up at the bottom of the football pyramid together. Surely grounds for a joint Phoenix club if the time came. However, Bolton pride wouldn’t allow it. I expect they would rather be “Horwich FC” than “Radcliffe Rangers”. They could ground-share with Chorley!
  7. Not quite. Prices are frozen at the 2018/19 early bird rate and not the uplifted price. He has finally listened. First time in a long time that there has been actions rather than words. Well done Waggott. Maybe there is hope after all... Count me IN. ?
  8. If Mowbray was a poster on here he’d be given a hammering!!
  9. Who’s that fella? I don’t recognise him but he’s a breath of fresh air. Antonio Mowbrinho, did you say? I really hope that it’s going to be as easy as he thinks. Fellas like Wagner and Farke have a slight advantage to Saltburn’s finest in that they have the contacts and the inside track on the market. It’s great that he seems so passionate (all of a sudden) about recruiting value from overseas. More power to him. I just hope it isn’t at the total expense of the likes of Butterworth, Wharton et al. Some experience, some quality - including the experienced ready made imports - plus some talented youth coming through from the bench. If he gets that balance right it could be a good season next season.
  10. If we are to believe that then we have to believe that having the Waggott tax is putting 6,000 people off attending - because they certainly aren’t being swayed to buy early and attend. We really need a better solution. Technology should allow people to buy online and get an emailed QRA code or something without needing to be so meticulous in planning. Somehow thousands of people make it on to Manchester Airport car park every day without the need for an army of ticket marshalls. Besides if the surcharge wasn’t a disincentive then those 6000 people would turn up anyway and cause the same havoc. If it is then the club is deliberately putting people off. Whichever way, it is madness when we have so many empty seats.

  12. I think... If Sunday’s game gets played (U18s) then there is now provision for the Brentford game to go ahead. They limp over the line and the EFL breathe a sigh of relief. If this weekend’s game doesn’t go ahead then it looks likely that administration is going to happen. Then the games don’t get played and the EFL deal with the fallout. While the Administrators get on dealing with Bolton. They then either go bust or someone buys the club from admin and they start next season on -12 or whatever it is now.
  13. If you use ad blocking software, it can stop annoying pop ups or ads (I don’t see any ads when browsing this site on my phone). However, from time to time it can stop certain links from working. Twitter often uses shortened links that some blockers don’t like. I’ve just posted the full website version of the link for ease.

  15. EFL hedging their bets with Bolton. Bring on administration? Brentford game rearranged for next Tuesday yet still doubts about this weekend’s game going ahead. https://www.efl.com/news/2019/may/efl-statement-bolton-wanderers2/
  16. £20m for Dack is just completely unrealistic. That’s PL money.
  17. I think it is more about protecting the livelihoods of some professional footballers - like insurance. If they don’t get it back they’d have to write it off.
  18. Tbf that probably is what the PFA is thee for - to protect the interests of the players. It gets to the point though that it becomes unfair on other clubs while Bolton continue to avoid being penalised while other clubs are trying to run themselves properly. What a mess!
  19. Depends on the question. You've made the question: “is he worth under a million pounds?” Of course. If he worth £5m, £10m or £15m? That subjective and largely depends on the buyer. He keeps being spoken about in the same breath as Grealish but I’m not sure they are consistently comparable. Personally, my only concern with Dack is his social life, a very public social life at that. My view is that it does impact his football. His public image is of a player who has made it but he hasn’t made anything yet. This next season is as big for Dack as it is for Rovers.
