  1. A guy I know wants/wanted to give Bassini a chance simply because they were dying under Anderson. Seems a bit like leaping out of the window on the 70th floor of a burning building. Trouble is, “getting on with the inevitable” sounds like Bolton quite literally starting again at the bottom of the football pyramid.
  2. So presumably he has another buyer lined up who will pay him more than they will pay Anderson - or Anderson won’t deal with them. He kind of said as much to Jim White I guess. It does make me wonder what happened between when Shinawatra (sp?) left City and how it came to be run by Sheikh Mansour... Really feel sorry for Bolton fans over this. Such a mess. Happy to see the frying pan after roasting in the fire.
  3. You can’t seem to see that where you finish, and how successful you should then see yourself, is a factor of your resources. I’m afraid that’s your problem, not mine.
  4. I don’t remember there being very many Saturday evening kick offs so late for English league games, let alone Rovers.
  5. So you’re just going to ignore the point I’m making and keep going back to points/league position. Ok then but it is you that is dismissing the context.
  6. EFL rules require clubs to field their strongest sides. They do seem determined to keep them going until the end of the season. At which point they’ll be on their own.
  7. We spent £10m net, Wigan spent £4.5m and will finish about 5 places above them in the bottom half (thanks to a very good run once safe). Both well clear of relegation.. Our transfer budget alone should have seen us aiming for the play-off places this season. Wigan could well be excused for not doing so. Especially having sold Will Grigg and Dan Burn, and replaced them with inferior players. Who have Rovers had to sell to balance the books and stay up? Nobody, in fact quite the opposite. Nothing illogical about it. That really is the wrong word to use. Pretty emotive stuff for anyone to suggest we’ve had a better season than Wigan, in comparative terms.
  8. That is how you take advantage of a feelgood factor. Can’t blame the club if fans don’t respond to that. Compare and contrast our position after promotion and the Oxford game. They weren’t even on sale!
  9. You could well be right. Was that the year they lost two cup finals and were relegated? 1997 or 1998 ish?
  10. It’s either great marketing or Pool have got their club back.
  11. It’s so bizarre. Why would anyone do this?
  12. I must be misremembering then I thought there were two games with Boro. One where several of their players were ill and one later where Rovers pitch was frozen.
  13. Your posting does seem to regress at times. You look like you are maturing then you go back to “laughing at” others’ opinions. All the best.
  14. So definitely expungement then. Wonder if a team in the top two who could drop into the play-offs might want to pay Bolton’s wages for them?
  15. I’ve already explained my view. Pound for pound they have.
  16. I wonder how many nobbers will blame the players...?
  17. Wrong, they’ve got a trophy in their cabinet with ‘Winners’ on it.
  18. Did JBN get paid? Because the person who stole his content for the paper did.
  19. If the league rules are followed then there should be no recourse in law as every member signed up to them. The real legal issue would surely be if the EFL meddle to keep them afloat. Isn’t the easiest option to award Brentford a 3-0 win, which is what happened at Rovers when Boro didn’t turn up?
  20. It’s fine. We’d still be 13 points clear of Rotherham.
