  1. 100% I wasn’t even sure we’d scored. The crowd noise has been turned down to almost zero so we’re relying on a bit of passion from the commentator.
  2. That link takes you to the first comment from the LT intelligentsia. Apparently, wanting Mowbray to strengthen in January to try for the play-offs means that he should have “over paid” and “panic bought”. Thank F Mowbray would never do that.
  3. That’s why I said “definitely” - as in I agree with you. Brereton has played a couple of U23 games, Nuttall played 26 last season (scoring 21 goals, I think). If Brereton hadn’t cost £7m none of us would be having this debate and he’d be fourth choice (or worse) behind Graham, Nuttall and Samuel. As it is, we’ve spent all that money and we still need a replacement for DG! He really needs to come off the bench and get a goal but right now he’s relying on injuries to get a chance. It’s been a very poor piece of business by Mowbray.
  4. Actually agree with the bit in bold. However, Brereton hasn’t shown any glimpses of anything good in a Rovers shirt. In fact, some of his misses during matches suggest he is absolutely not a natural finisher. When you pay £7m for a forward you have every right to expect goals - or at the very least shots on target that keepers have just been keeping out. He hasn’t really got close. Counting goals when he was offside is definitely clutching at straws.
  5. Interesting that you don’t mention Brereton’s equally woeful finishing in warm ups. Here’s some match stats though (as warm up stats can be misleading ). 2018/19 Nuttall 13 app* (2 starts), 339 minutes, 2 goals Brereton 24 app* (5 starts), 692 minutes, 0 goals * Brereton played in 3 cup games, Nuttall’s games were all against Championship opponents.
  6. So Birmingham get a 9-point deduction but look like staying up anyway. Even the timing of it means they are under very little pressure because they haven’t really got close to the bottom three. If they beat Ipswich today then they are all but safe. The lower finishing position is meaningless in the Championship because consolidated payments mean that “prize money” is the same for every team. In effect they have broken the rules and have been given no punishment whatsoever. Even their “transfer embargo” was lifted in time for them to sign players this season. Meanwhile Bolton are being propped up by the EFL “to protect the integrity of the league”. Bit of a joke all ends up really. Breaking the rules should put you in the relegation zone as a minimum, or even bottom of the league, and you have to claw your way back into contention or there is no deterrent. Big Club have got off very lightly indeed.
  7. Kean used to talk about time in exactly the same way.
  8. Don’t disagree with any of that. The real question though is: does Mowbray agree with you?
  9. ”Whether it’s next season or the one after”. Bloody hell, the arrogance! Mowbray knows that if he keeps his nose clean he is untouchable at Rovers.
  10. Not what I’d call a credible site but it contains direct quotes. http://glucoseclub.com/2019/04/mowbray-predicts-blackburn-will-be-fighting-off-bids-for-former-forest-striker/6265 We’ll be fighting off bids apparently. I wonder, at what point will he ship out the more progressed Nuttall out on loan to make way for Brezza.
  11. Might need to sign Reed before worrying about signing Judge. Oh and a manager to play that midfield.
  12. “There is no possibility of us selling the club.”
  13. Johnson doesn’t operate like that. He presents Tony with some fantastic young talent who like to attack teams. Tony prefers two sitters.
  14. I don’t want opposition managers to tell us that Mowbray and Venus are good coaches. I want our football and results to be the judge of that. It’s all well and good calling things “negative rhetoric” to try to shut down other’s opinions but it doesn’t mean jack out in the “real world” where we’ve had two wins and one draw in 12 matches and the manager publicly states that he prefers the midfield line up that played in the 9 defeats. Stick to discussing the issues and stop calling people negative just because you don’t like “the truth” to be dealt with in facts.
  15. Yeah, I probably should have said squad. He wouldn’t have got out of the starting blocks. Oh, for a Souness.
  16. Why do we keep buying League One players? But also why are we looking to bring in another young midfielder? The priority right now is replacing the older players in the squad. Graham, Conway and Mulgrew, not just positionally but their experience. We have enough youngsters that Mowbray won’t play. We also need a new goalkeeper first. I’ve a horrible feeling that the issues we see as fans aren’t going to be addressed. Mowbray’s Smallwood-Evans comments haven’t helped.
