  1. Not sure a qualifier away in Montenegro is either but...
  2. This isn’t how Mowbray operates, and it’s a huge black mark against him. He doesn’t blood youngsters, he uses them when he has to. Nuttall - brought in when Samuel was injured. Dropped again, to his detriment, as soon as Samuel was fit again. Only back in the frame because Samuel has been out long term. Fully expect him to be loaned out once Samuel is back fit. Travis - covered for the preferred combination of Smallwood and Evans when they were injured. Did well and is clinging on to his place. Magloire - brought in when absolutely desperate due to loss of all of the centre backs. Came in, did well and now dropped from the squad for dead rubber games. Butterworth and Buckley - now catching the eye but won’t be seen again until we are desperate once more. Nyambe and Raya were already in the team and have no cover - ironically both need upgrading. This also ignores Rothwell, Armstrong, Reed and the barely mentionable Brereton being played out of position to accommodate the players that Mowbray ‘trusts’ - chiefly Mulgrew, Dack and Graham (do they choose the team in these days of senior player decision-making?) We neither recruit to improve the first team starters, nor do we promote from the youth ranks. We have loyalty to the soldiers that got us promoted and a sprinkling of artists who are expected to make a difference being played out wide and out of position. If we are safe, let’s have a look at more of the youngsters. It’s like deja vu - I remember saying the exact same thing when Bowyer was here.
  3. Not the same level but compare and contrast with what Southgate is doing with the England set up. If you do well in the U21s then you are promoted to the first team. Even at the expense of the old guard. Even in tough away qualifiers. Yes, Southgate is choosing from a pool of quality players but it’s all relative. Are any of our first team players really stepping up or even under any pressure to step up? We’ve got money to spend, but we are keeping our powder dry (still can’t believe we didn’t strengthen in January when within 3 points of sixth!); we’ve got an excellent youth set up, but only call on them when we are desperate before sending them back; we have a manager who keeps doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. But don’t worry, there’ll be jam tomorra!
  4. They could have at least credited the site after nicking soundbites from its members.
  5. Couldn’t agree more if you were Mowbray and I was Chaddy.
  6. What a waste of time your posts were then! Bleating about plans and you can’t even say what they are yourself!
  7. I must have slept through it - a bit like our defenders during practise drills - what did he say his plan was?
  8. Whilst you are right, a lot of that is down to the parents who can’t or won’t help them to get out more. Playing out on the street isn’t what it used to be (for some reason) but kids will grab opportunities to do things like go to football or clubs if they are encouraged to.
  9. So knowing this, the club needs to be doing everything it can to reverse that trend. Instead everything being done is in pursuit of putting barriers up. Along with the smug: “We’re committed, are you?” Except those “committed” are getting paid!!
  10. Read some of the posts already made. Or just ignore them and keep asking the same questions. It’s pretty common on here.
  11. I think we may be at cross purposes. I’m talking about us not having season tickets on sale at all and using this as an excuse. It absolutely isn’t a valid reason.
  12. It hasn’t affected them putting tickets on sales, it has just affected being able to offer “in house finance”. Nothing stopping people getting their own credit if they need to. Leeds have their renewal deadline tomorrow! We are nowhere near.
  13. Zebra finance are not only linked to Rovers. It hasn’t stopped anyone else getting them on sale. Just sounds like more excuses.
  14. Does his plan involve defenders? It hasn’t so far.
  15. It’s financial year end. The last pay packet of 2018/19 tax year and people often have bonuses or extra money or are looking to budget for holidays. If tickets aren’t on sale it’s not beyond the realms for people to use that money on other things. It’s not about fans wanting to give the club money early, but it should be about the club wanting to maximise sales. We just aren’t on the ball and haven’t been since Venkys compelled John Williams to resign. “Management by quarterly board meeting”. Or every other club is wrong and we are right - but attendance stats tend to disagree. It’s just one more way the club isn’t helping itself.
  16. It’s a good initiative. Free tickets for youngsters so this needs to be recognised before people start spouting about the crowd size. I just hope every ticket puts a bum on a seat. Recently got offered several free junior tickets and couldn’t give them away! ☹️
  17. Utter nonsense for us to be below some of those dull two-tone efforts. Birmingham? These kinds of polls are just made up anyway.
  18. Actually agree with this. Bennett is our utility man but not a right back. Nyambe has no real back up.
  19. Why do we keep getting linked with the same players window after window? Do we have no scouts at all, just a dusty notepad left behind by the last one that we keep having a bash at?
  20. Trouble is we always do well in qualifying but you can’t help but think that Southgate is instilling a real belief in this squad. There are no real stars just a group who are working hard as a team.
  21. Well if he’s only on the bench then he’ll probably be ok anyway.
  22. Don’t be sad, I’ve set the bar high. Down time, within reason, yes, but don’t drink or do things that could damage your body or your fitness. If he got injured playing volleyball on the beach, would you say that was fair enough?
  23. The right times are between 19 May and 30 June. Maybe a week earlier.
