  1. some have just appeared
  2. I would think that given that Hughes gave him a contract, that Derbyshire might play a few games. I also expect Garner to make his debut towards the end of the season maybe. As for the rest, I'm not sure. Jerome Watt was meant to be the big prospect, I'm not sure if he's developed as much as they thought. I hope he has because he could be used as back up for Emerton.
  3. For those of you who are thinking Rovers could finish in the top 6, Ladbrokes are offering 8/1 for it.
  4. This is something that we're very aware of. This is why we've contacted all the existing supporters associations we can think of, and other unofficial fan groups to tell them about BRISA. So as to not give the impression that this is an internet-only thing.
  5. I am well happy with us signing Bellamy. We've got a young skillful player. He comes with baggage, but I have confidence that he'll be able to work alongside Hughes better than other managers. All credit to the board for pulling this one off!
  6. Erm, I think you are!
  7. Just been on bbc that it is believed that Al Queda is involved with the attack.
  8. Maybe because he was trying to do what he thought was best for Rovers at that particular time? Had Sven come we might have become more sucessful and become self sufficient which is what he wanted. Sven might have stayed around when the money dried up, we dont know. And its all irrelivant because Sven never came to Rovers.
  9. Sorry if it has already been mentioned, but when do sky pick thier games?
  10. We obviously dont want BRISA to become a group 'only for brfcs.co.uk' members, that is not the idea. However the people who originally thought of brisa are all members from this site so it seemed easier to open it up to members of this messageboard first. However within the next few days many more people and organisations will find out about BRISA. So now is as good a time as ever to open the website up. www.roversisa.co.uk It is still a bit under construction, but all the information you might need is there.
  11. Sounds a bit like Rovers if you ask me I watched my first game of Euro 2005 today at work, mostly because any kind of football is better than horse racing. But I just cant be interested in it! Its just not the same. I know I play footy quite a lot, but when I play for uni I cant take playing for girls footy team seriously either - I just play for something to do! But if Im not playing I cant watch it - I watched a uni game once and it was comparable to Coppull Utd v Euxton Villa under 5's or something. It was painful to watch! I'll stick to watching proper football I think!
  12. I was only jokiiiiiing!
  13. Well Glazer's sons are just about to join the board as Roy Gardner and two others have stepped down. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4617585.stm Meanwhile Man U move for Ji-Sung Park. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...utd/4616589.stm Nothing to do with wanting to increase merchandise revenue in another country I dont expect
  14. Just read this piece about women's football on the BBC. In 1921 women's football was banned because it was attracting bigger crowds than the man's game and was thought to be too 'showbiz' Just think if we was in the same situation now, Sky would have loved it! They might have pumped all their money into the women's game and left the man's game to dwindle away
  15. Maybe it is just about booming, but I think its reaching the end of that period. I think we could be on a bit of a down slope sometime soon. Or that is what all the evidence is pointing to. Look at all the reasons given in the thread above, that is a lot of gripes about a sport. Look at the reasons why people at Rovers aren't renewing their season tickets. If Cole is sucessful in his appeal we're gonna have even more to moan about. Attendances last year fell on previous years, with increasing prices this is only going to continue. And eventually people will also stop tuning in to watch it on tv although this may take a little longer. If you've ever seen the film Baseketball, at the beginning it shows a mini story of sport dying out in America due to players switching teams, advertising and greed. Something along them lines just might happen
  16. If you ring the ticket office (08701123456) or email tickets@rovers.co.uk and explain what you want to do, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to send you out an application form.
  17. Well we've been waiting for god knows how long for this, but Rovers have finally released a DVD!!!! Tony Parkes DVD Should be a lot more interesting than if we get round to producing a season review dvd!
  18. Yea, because Stead is so much better in that respect! If we're comparing the two, Dickov made 27 starts and scored 9 goals - thats 1 in every 3 games. Stead made 19 starts and scored 2 - thats 1 in every 9.5 games. Whatever you think about Dickov moaning and whatnot, the fact is he's scored some very vital goals and without them we'd be off to Burnley for two more games this season. Neither record is good enough but Dickov's is better. As for selling Stead, I'm unsure. Given another season he may come good and return to the form of 03/04, but Hughes might not be willing to take that chance if he can use Stead to get a better player.
  19. Dont do it Paul!!! Don't abandon the family stand ship We're gonna stay up there I think. Even though only one out of the 7 of us are actually a junior I doubt they'll make us move - its not as if they'll find anyone else to fill our seats. Other reasons are cost - my ticket will be £195 as opposed to £225 if we move elsewhere. And if we moved I'd want it to be to the BBL and I reckon it'd be quite difficult to get 7 seats near to each other. Good to see they've brought the U8 thing back (although it may see an increase in kids near me ). Also its cheaper for juniors now than in 94/95. I think they've got the pricing about right, just need the product to be as good
  20. How long do you think we'd be waiting? We're hardly an attractive outfit for people to want to invest in us - either for the team or money wise! Jack give us so much money because he was a fan!! If he hadn't supported Rovers we'd have seen none of that money and we wouldn't have the trust fund full stop. Which situation do you think would be better? The one we're in now or one if Jack had never got involved in the first place?
  21. Go into the users profile you can do it from there
  22. Well in that case Liverpool should loan their entire squad to TNS on week long loans and let TNS challenge for the champs league next season
  23. This new 'Ignore User' function is gonna come in handy very soon
  24. Well it looks like Liverpool aren't going to be able to defend their title which is quite rediculous. I'm pretty sure there'd be a place somewhere within the qualifying rounds or something.
