  1. Wouldn't be surprised to see Rodwell make an appearance.
  2. Tony, great job. Fact not fiction.
  3. Many footballers today are given far more credit than they deserve. Talent with your feet does not mean intelligence, necessarily. Other celebrities, too are assigned knowledge that they do not possess. We love what they do for BRFC but do we really want our daughters associated with them? That's the litmus test for character. Not to be confused with what they can do for Rovers.
  4. It's a loss. It won't be the last. Time to move on. With the new players that TM is trying to integrate into the team, Rovers could be a complete change from what has been on view thus far. I, personally, am excited at the possibilities.
  5. Why do you feel it necessary to take a suggestion to support an injured player off on some tangent that implies I suggested a lack of support for people who work in essential services? BTW if you think that they are ALL of great character then you are naive.
  6. I've never seen him play so I can't judge.
  7. Might be a good time, for those who use social media, to offer messages of encouragement to Gladwin. He certainly had the right qualities and skills at one point. If he could find his way back then he might be another welcome addition to the first team. I'm sure he gets loads of encouragement from TM and his staff but haven't seen much in the form of encouragement from Rovers' supporters. If he and Rodwell could be rehabilitated, it would make for a powerful team. Just a thought.
  8. Does he count as a senior team loan?
  9. Wouldn't mind if Rovers were able to bring in Gallagher too.
  10. A good pal is a NFFC fan. He said we'd never get BB. Just awaiting his response...
  11. Or kept him as a stalwart defender?
  12. What's happened to the interest in Gallagher?
  13. There are some unremarkable performances by Rovers players. They are lacking pace and relying on too much long ball.
  14. Well with all the people who frequent this message board, ITKs, friends of players, journos, etc., and we have no idea what TM has for a transfer budget, then neither do the clubs from whom we're trying to acquire players. That alone must stand us in good stead. Proper prices for proper players. This isn't Mowbray's first rodeo! All will be well.
  15. absolutely brilliant player. remember him having a fan club following him when rovers reserves played united reserves in the old central league. i think that he must have been all of sixteen. i remember the goal that he scored at ewood in about 1965 or 66. he rambled past clayton, england and newton and then fired a daisy cutter into the corner past fred else. RIP.
  16. rovers have a great chance to move up to 7= with city who will probably remain ahead on goal difference. west ham newcastle and charlton are all in tougher than the rovers this weekend. lets hope that they give themselves and the fans a tremendous boost in the confidence dept. by continuing this good patch of form. 1-2 for rovers mgp and bellers.
  17. spoke with a good friend of mine who is a lifelong charlton pathetic fan yesterday and he was not well pleased with his team's performance yesterday. he feels that that their form flatters to deceive..."lofty league position but not sure that there is that much quality in the side". anyhow his pride showed when he promised that cafc would have it right when the rovers come to the valley for the carling cup. and italians call english people "mangea cake"..."cake eaters"
  18. let's hope that we can only go on and beat leicester. at least the dingles will be back under the bridges and tree roots from whence they came. ...no nay never no more... well done the rovers.
  19. c'mon the rovers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. 28,000+++ at ewood tonight. i bet the atmosphere is fantastic. sitting at the computer singing the wild rover. supposed to pick up the missus...she'll have to wait. still can't get any sound but text is fine. c'mon the rovers!!!!
  21. they said the same things about wimbledon and their route 1 style of play however when they went down, and had to clear house, an awful lot of fashionable clubs came to buy. many are still gainfully employed. this is merely a phase that rovers are going through and the team will be back to flowing football next season. gang tackling and constant pressure to recover possession are trade mark tactics for the greatest teams in the world. if you do not have that ability at your club then wave the prem goodbye.
  22. rovers employed that tactic with mike england...rovers greatest central defender...and it was quite effective. ammo is no where near england but it might be worth a try in reserve match and let hughes and co assess.
  23. let's not forget that the rovers were interested in extending his present contract and any agent doing their job would then look to up the ante. ask rangers if they are interested and this applies very direct pressure to raise his contract wages significantly or he leaves...maybe? and the agent gets another piece of the pie. i would have liked to have been a fly on the wall at that meeting with bazza, his agent and jw. and rovers have him signed until 2007 so if rangers want him they have to pay up. either way bazza wins and so too does his agent. let's not forget we are playing the sports version of 'monopoly' here.
  24. this is deja vu all over again.
  25. bryan douglas and mick ferguson?? a bit past it aren't they?
