  1. I think it's this too. Why would any young player want to leave Rovers? You will get a chance in the first team and you will be sold as soon as a prem team comes in. You can quickly go onto big things from here if you're good enough, just like Adam Wharton (although I do appreciate he is a once in a generation talent).
  2. Bair, Docherty, Murphy all linked in recent days. I know they are just rumours but I hope we are after much better calibre players than that. None are good enough if we want to have a better season than the last one.
  3. I'm not so sure. If you read through their recent tweets, they have got it right about season ticket prices days before it was officially announced, they said 5 days again that we will replace GB with a Head of Technical which is now being reported elsewhere, and probably has it right about the kits as others have heard the same. Here's hoping they are right about Venkys willing to sell too. An account I will be following and interesting I notice Unleaded follows them too so that's good enough for me as he's probably the best ITK we have on here.
  4. That interview confirms McGuire won't be coming here. Not fussed at all. Now that we're in the summer window, there are much better options out there.
  5. I don't believe a word of the "we don't need majory surgery" line from Eustace. We often hear that from managers and then they go and sign 50 new players! No manager is gonna upset the squad by saying he wants big changes in personnel. I personally think there will be a lot of comings and goings. Really like the look of the next batch of academy kids coming through too. Think we have some very good players on the verge of the first team.
  6. Absolutely, will back him if he signs. He can't be any worse than Gally or Semir. Just a bit concerned he's 23 and only ever played in the US which is essentially a retirement league.
  7. I may be in the minority but I'm not fussed if we sign McGuire or not. I think there are better options out there than someone who has played in the MLS. I will caveat that with I've never seen him play so what do I know!
  8. There's no doubt he was sacked. He'll try and spin it to his media friends that he wanted out anyway but I don't believe a word of that. He was very poor at his job and deservedly got sacked. There's no way I would have let him loose on another transfer window either. Cheston and Silvester are both also very poor at their jobs too and both have gone within a week of the season ending. I'd have been a lot more disappointed if members of the board were kept in place despite a shambles of a season. Waggot is the last remaining one whose time is probably running out too. The main culprits are in India but they're not budging. I don't believe this means that there's no transfer budget this summer. That would suggest that Venkys have actually done some planning. Those at the club prob won't know the summer budget for about 2 months yet!
  9. Good decision to get rid of GB imo. We've had 3 of the worst transfer windows I can remember during his tenure and I wouldn't trust him to spend any kind of transfer kitty. Yes, he's not had a lot to work with but the players he has signed for money have been awful. Leo for a million has to be one of the worst pieces of transfer business we've done. Talked a good game but he never convinced me. Good to see changes are being made at the top after a dreadful season. Waggot next please. Not holding my breath that his replacement will be any better though!
  10. I am a southerner 😄 Not too far from the club he's joined us from. I give it a year until he quits.
  11. Club Secretary so a pretty senior role. He lists "player registrations" as being under his remit at Brighton. He was there 3-4 years. Feels like the best appointment the club have made for quite some time but not sure if anyone can thrive under these owners.
  12. Strange move for him to leave Brighton to join us. It must be a good pay rise for him. Brighton are the best run club in the country so it looks like a very good appointment. But there's only so much you can do when Venky's are your employer.
  13. I think the player would still come here, but I don't think we'll go back in for him. There are far better options out there for us once the summer window opens imo.
  14. Cannon won't happen. Liam Delap or Stansfield more realistic.
  15. Stansfield would be a good signing for us and one I can see us going after. Has a good work ethic, a good age, and probably not huge wages. Think he'd do well here.
  16. He achieved the one and only remit he had when given the job in Feb - keep up in the league. I feel like the job he's done has been poor though. Not a single home win and a very poor style of play. I'd personally get rid but he probably does deserve a summer to see what he can do. Having a woeful GK, Gally up front, selling your best midfielder and no replacing him, and letting your captain to out on loan are all ingredients for relegation so he came in at a tough time. Birmingham would not have gone down if they had kept him.
  17. Pears had to pull off some saves. Ruddy may as well not have turned up today.
  18. As a side note, I really dislike Norwich after that. What a pathetic performance from them today. Thankfully it didn't matter in the end.
  19. Wow that was stressful. So relieved we stayed up but I need a lie down! When Birmingham scored it was looking a bit grim. I love Sammie! Definitely one of my favourite ever Rovers players after what he's done this season. We'd have been relegated ages ago without him. Phew.
  20. Leicester go full strength but I suspect they haven't trained a lot this week. They'll still beat us though.
  21. Come on Norwich, Hull, and Sunderland. Sunderland are useless so I don't expect any favours from them but Norwich have gone full strength and obviously Hull have too. I think Birmingham go down but we'll see. Going to be a very nervy 2 hours, especially if we concede early on and either Plymouth or Brum take the lead.
  22. Don't do it to yourself 😆 They're not selling. We're stuck with these chumps.
  23. I know, my point was that we've won 3 games all year = we are useless. Us and Rotherham have been the two worst teams in the second half of the season.
  24. Oh I think we'll stay up as I think Plymouth will lose. I just don't think we'll get anything against Leicester, even though they've battered Preston and now won the league, so we're relying on other results to keep us up on the final day which is not a nice position to be in. Let's hope Leicester have a few late nights this week!
