  1. Great to see JRC sign up for the long term. I'm a big fan. He's the sort of player who will be 7/10 every game. You need players like that.
  2. He's going nowhere. Venkys trust him and that means more to them than results on the pitch. We saw it with Kean, Venkys liked him and therefore he was bulletproof regardless of how bad results were. TM goes when he wants to go. He will walk eventually, probably not too far into the season if we have a bad start. Our owners may continue to pay the bills but they never know which way to turn when a decision needs to be made, so it's just easier for them to stick with the status quo. That's simply because they have no idea about football. I have zero interest or excitement for the season ahead. We'll have a worse team than last season and an equally incompetent manager.
  3. Great to see Wharton sign a new deal. I wasn't convinced about him until last season when he looked like a class act. A good old fashioned centre half who will get in the way of everything. Big fan.
  4. This has to be one of the most bizarre call ups ever. Great for him though. You can't help but feel he's one of the most overrated young players. First he gets sold for £7m and now he gets called up by Chile!
  5. TM will be here on day 1 of next season without a doubt. No inside knowledge but none needed really. We all know Venkys by now, they don't care and nor would they know what to do next if they did get rid of him. They've got a lot on their plate with their main business interests, they don't want the hassle of having this to sort out too. That's the sad reality of it. No Armstrong, no Dack, No Elliot next season. It will be pretty grim. We need some top quality loans because there's no way we can buy that sort of quality with the budget we have. Even if we do get some quality loans, the Mowbray defensive masterclass will continue anyway. Sad times at this great club.
  6. Good decision to let Evans go. He's not contributed anything for a long time. The only one I'd potentially keep as a back up is Johnson, all the others can go. The likes of Bennett, Downing, Trybull offered nothing last season, so although it makes the squad look a little thin, we're not impacting the quality of the squad. Elliott going does impact the quality of the squad and when Armstrong inevitably leaves, that's another big hole to fill. He deserves a crack at the prem though. On reflection, the transfer dealings last summer were a bit of a disaster despite looking like a good window at the time. The one transfer I want to see is in the dugout.
  7. Reading TMs quotes today and I've never seen a manager so blatantly send out a "I deserve the sack" message before. Just put him out of his misery in the summer and give him a payoff and let him go and spend some time with his family. He's not good enough and isn't enjoying the job now either. Ainsworth would be a no for me. There are managers out there who are good at managing the huge underdogs and getting them to punch above their weight, and then they struggle when they go to a bigger club and expectations are a lot higher. I'd put him in that bracket. He could very well go somewhere and prove me wrong though (and I hope he does)
  8. Couldn't care less about the result or performance. I'm only interested in what happens in the summer and hopefully starting the season with a new manager.
  9. I hope this wakes up the powers that be in football. They have let far too many rogue owners take over football clubs who have no care or interest in the clubs they are buying. It's all for commercial gain. We were one of the first clubs to get terrible owners but the playing field has been levelled somewhat because a large proportion of other clubs have now got poor owners too. It's almost become a case of the clubs with the least worst owners are the successful ones now. A Super League would be a dream of our owners. Some reports even suggested Venkys thought it was some kind of super league with no relegation. They were soon to find our that wasn't the case. I hope for the fans sake that the Super League doesn't go ahead. But at least it shines another light on rogue ownership in football, which has to change.
  10. Big clearcut needed - particularly in the management dugout. I personally think it will be a "mutual" parting of ways in thd summer. Lots of players out of contract and going back to parent clubs. Not sure that's a huge problem as most have shown they're not up to it. 1 good game in 5 for a lot of them. Elliot is the only one that will be missed hugely.
  11. Phew. We're safe. Time for big changes in the summer. Dreadful season all round.
  12. IF we can hold on for another few mins then we're safe. Derby on the other hand...
  13. Still plenty of time to go in this match yet.
  14. Are we actually winning a football match? Jeez how bad are Derby then.
  15. Come on! This is a must not lose game.
  16. Stopped watching this shambles a while ago but from twitter feeds and on here it sounds like we've got even worse than when I last watched, which I didn't think was possible. Derby are not even playing a striker, are they?
  17. This is beyond a joke now. We can't afford to lose this one.
  18. Big point. We needed that. TM is still useless though.
  19. If Rotherham grab a winner then we are in big trouble.
  20. Does anyone seriously expect us to be level for very long? Useless bunch.
  21. Just gotta hope Rotherham don't put a run together as we are so, so bad.
  22. I say it every game, but how is he still here?!
  23. Brum picked up a point, Huddersfield obviously going to lose. The latter getting thrashed helps us as you'd imagine they'll be well up for the Rotherham game. I don't think we'll go down but it's appalling that we are even genuinely talking about it with the squad we have. You'd think the law of averages would mean that we'll pick up one win from the final six games which would mean Rotherham have to win 5 of their remaining 10 games. That's a tall order.
  24. I appreciate posters sharing news that they've heard as that's what a forum is all about. I'm sure it's all posted in good faith but I'm pretty certain TM will still be here come the final game of the season. Our club is way down the priority list of the owners and acting now would add to their list of problems. It's easier for them to do nothing at all and carry on as usual. The summer may be when a change is made but I think its pie in the sky to think anything will happen before then sadly. I hope I'm wrong.
