Big Mak is definitely a confidence player so that goal will do him the world of good. His touch and general play were excellent last night. The way he rolled the defender for the stonewall penalty was very impressive. The problem is he probably would have missed if he went clean through from that turn! The sending off against Burnley really impacted his game, he was brilliant before that. Hopefully last night was a turning point. -

Five wins in a row and 4 clean sheets in a row. Eustace is some manager. Big Mak was outstanding when he came on. -

What a total borefest. Aside from Bannan, not an ounce of quality on show. Can we nick a 1-0? How on earth is this team anywhere near top half let alone top 6. -

Four wins in a row, 3 wins away from home in a row, and 3 clean sheets in a row. Very impressive. -

I think we need a centre half that can also cover right back (James Hill is a great shout), a left winger, and a striker. We apparently have an interest in Poku but so do most teams in this league probably so that won't happen. Godo very nearly signed in the summer so that's a good suggestion too, he'll likely be on the list again. The Sierra Leone guy Kargbo has also been heavily linked. Nicko wrote recently we'd ideally like a striker with championship experience in Jan. Doesn't everyone in this league! That's the problem. Decent strikers cost big money which is why we shop in the bargain basement for them. Ohashi has been a good find though. -

What a manager Eustace is, certainly the best one we've had in the championship. We've not been this well coached and organised for a long time. It was knife through butter at times under Mowbray and more often than not under JDT. Cantwell aside, we don't have any genuine real attacking quality so Eustace has got his tactics spot on by trying to keep games tight and nicking a goal. To beat two of the best teams in this league in the same week, and deservedly so, is very impressive. We're certainly not going down this season, no chance. We probably won't get top 6 either because there will be games where we go one down and then it almost feels like game over. If Eustace was backed with a striker and pacy winger in Jan then it could be a different story - that probably won't happen though. Gueye and Buckley should be moved on. The former is not good enough and the latter needs to be playing games at his age. -

Travis is in the form of his life. He's been excellent this season. Having Trondstad sitting in behind has really helped as it's enabled him to make those attacking runs knowing that Tronstad will mop up anything behind him. Both are top players. -

There's no doubting that we are a well organised, hard working team. We lack a lot of quality in forward areas but as a fan all you can really ask for is that you're well coached and work hard. We have that. Just a shame the owners have constantly left us short on quality. I would probably look to shift out Gueye in January. He will be 4th choice soon. I think we'll look to bring in another striker in Jan, and once Leonard is fit he will be behind him and Ohashi too. He's never gonna score goals in this league and his all round game is not up to championship standard. Ohashi is doing well. He's definitely got the nuisance factor even though he's low on quality. Definitely a good player to have in the squad. -

Not sure you've got that phrase quite right for this context but, yeah, never gonna get any attacking quality under Venkys. They cost too much £££ -

Wow shock result but fully deserved. It was the perfect away performance. As the Sky commentators said, if we had some more pace and quality up top then we'd be a real force. We are incredibly well organised but we have to score the first goal in games. I'd certainly take our league position at this stage! Eustace is working miracles. -

Midweek away game usually spell disaster for us. Our record is appalling. Boro are one of the best teams in this league so I expect a comfortable victory for them. Carrick is a very good manager. 3-0 Boro -

Apparently the final straw was when he found out he no longer had his own desk. It's in "Nicko's whispers" section of his gossip column today. Doesn't name him but obvious who the story is about. -

He knows there's no money in January and we're shopping in the bargain basement again. Another departure in this shambles of a club. -

I don't blame Eustace too much as what more could he do tonight. The attacking players at his disposal are shocking. The blame falls squarely at the owners. We all know this club is finished until we get new owners. -

The attacking players just aren't good enough Simple as that. We should have been out of sight against a very poor side. What can you do with Dolan, Hedges, Weimann, Ohashi, Gueye. None of them are up to championship level. Then you throw in Pickering, Britainn, and Pears and it's clear why we're struggling. Dropping like a stone now. -

Our best half for a while but very little cutting edge. Cantwell has been very good. I really don't know how Hedges continues to start games. He's dreadful. Despite being dominant, we should be one down. They missed a sitter. Pears trying to play out from the play and his inability to command his box at corners, or even make an attempt to come out for the ball, could cost us this game. They look dangerous at set pieces. -
I'm not buying it, Rudy. The owners have created a culture of failure and ripped the heart out of the club. They've got 2 relegations on their CV (and very nearly a 3rd last season) and have driven away thousands of fans. We have raked in around £35m+ in transfer fees in 2 years and we've barely seen a penny of that because we're essentially now self-funding. There is nothing to be grateful to them for.

A very winnable game but it's hard to get excited about any Rovers games at moment despite being 7th in the league. We're completely toothless going forward now and have very little creativity. It feels like we're back in old territory of if we concede the first goal then the game is as good as gone. If we had any shred of ambition then we would have tried to sign Cannon in the summer. He's a top striker at this level and his value will only go up and up. Instead, we were shopping in the bargain basement with Papa and Yuki. I wouldn't be surprised if Cannon scores tomorrow and it ends up being a loss or draw. -

This is the crux of it. You can see the team is well coached, but there's no quality on the pitch. -

We've looked solid enough but there's just so little attacking quality. Given how good Sheffield U are defensively, this game feels as good as gone. -
