  1. What a win! Didnt see a goal coming but we did it. Holtby was the gamechanger. Lenihan MOTM closely followed by Douglas and Kaminski.
  2. An opportunity has opened up to get within touching distance of the play off places in what is a very winnable game at home. Can we take that opportunity? History says no.
  3. I hadn't heard of Pickering until about a week ago but he sounds highly rated so let's snap him up. Him and Kipre on permanent deals would be good business.
  4. Things you’d never thought you’d see: A good defensive performance from Rovers. Had a feeling it might be our day when they hit the post when it looked easier to score. Good win.
  5. Evans must be on big wages, same goes for Williams. Both are decent players when they're fully fit but the problem is they're never fully fit. Both need a retirement home.
  6. Interesting to see so many players out of contract in the summer. I would personally offer the following new deals: - Nyambe, Rothwell, Johnson, Holtby, Rankin-Costello. I would release: - Bell, Williams, Evans, Downing, Mulgrew, Bennet In terms of loan signings, Elliot is obviously incredible but no chance of him coming back for another year. Braithwaite is good too but he'll be in and around the Everton squad next year so that's unrealistic. Trybull is not good enough, Douglas has been poor but I'd be tempted to buy him on a cheap deal as back up. I think there's more to come from him.
  7. I think it's fair to say the majority of the fan base and the local media have lost faith in TM and rightly so. He's done a very good job here but just because someone has got us here does not mean they're the right person to get us to where we want to go. He's a solid championship manager but he's no more than that. I can see a change in the summer but I don't see one happening before then. A big, big opportunity missed this season and that's the frustrating thing. We wont have the likes of Armstrong and Elliot here next season, and quite possibly not Rothwell or Nyambe either, so there will be a rebuilding job to do. We've not at any point this season looked like maintaining a genuine promotion push to the prem. In fact we haven't since we've been relegated.
  8. Couldn't care less about the equalizing goal. Changes nothing in the context of our season. Poor.
  9. He's not got a clue how we get back into this game.
  10. Sadly you could copy and paste that for a lot of our games this season. There’s no question that Mowbray should be fired but the chaotic structure at the club means he’s safe. All pretty grim.
  11. I’m pleased I didn’t bother watching as I knew this was going to happen. Draw at best now. Mowbray has been found out big time this season.
  12. That's our best starting 11 of the season.
  13. I won't be watching the game; Stoke are abysmal but will probably sneak a goal and we'll spend the whole game huffing and puffing. No real excuses from this point onwards as we've got our best players back, a new central defensive addition, and a lighter schedule.
  14. That’s all any team needs to do against us sadly. We have to work so hard to score a goal yet other teams score against us so easily. There is no defensive shape.
  15. Any normal club would sack him. We are not a normal club.
  16. Same old, same old. Lots of possession but doing nothing with it. The defensive shape is terrible as always. Their player allowed to run half the pitch and get a shot without a challenge in sight. Pears is not very good but I think we knew that already.
  17. I'm looking forward to this game, it's nice to have a break from the league. I hope we'll give some fringe players a chance like Dolan and I'd like to see Gally played through the middle. A first start for Dack?
  18. I don't rate Gally but I don't dislike him. He's always given 100% when I've seen him play but we're not playing to his strengths. He was signed as a replacement for Danny Graham but then we decided to change our playing style which is less suited to how Gally plays. He was much more effective in his first stint here when the focus was more on getting balls out wide and crosses into the box. The problem for TM is that Gally should be a bench player but we've spent 5m on him so he has to try and get some value out of him. The price tag is the only reason he's in the team. Play him as a central striker and he'd do a lot better...but you can't move one of the best strikers in this league out wide to accommodate Gally centrally. Do we cut our losses and put it down as a mistake? Or do we try and keep plugging away and hope he comes good? Reality is he prob only needs a good half a season for his value to go up.
  19. So pleased for Dack. I bet he's dreamed about that moment during his year's absence. Great to see Trav back too. I didn't watch the game so I cant comment on the performance, but nice to get 3 points. Just a shame we're well off the pace for the play off places.
  20. Great to see Trav back but an incredibly poor line up. Mind you, the Brum side looks poor too. I'm going 1-0 to Brum.
  21. Nigel Pearson would be a realistic option to replace TM. There are options out there.
  22. It's false hope imo. We're nowhere near good enough for top 6 unfortunately with the way we are set up at the moment. We are playing basketball tactics, not football. We wont suddenly turn into a solid, well organised side. We'll continue to concede a hatful and lose a lot of games.
  23. Season over. Just need to make sure we get enough points to avoid a relegation battle, which I think we will. Anyone who thinks we can still get top 6 is living in dreamland. Huddersfield deserved the win, we were a shambles. There is no organisation in this team, we look like we're going to concede everytime the other team attacks. Time for a change...but it wont happen.
