  1. Defensively we have no shape whatsoever. All very well playing pretty football but it's a game of defending and attacking.
  2. Can’t help but feel this season is slipping away in what has been a poor campaign so far. I only see one play off place up for grabs as I’m not convinced Reading will last the pace. For us to get that last place we’d have to be almost faultless which is just very unlikely to happen. It will be more of the same - good runs followed by bad runs. Credit to TM for the job he’s done and the squad he’s built here but he just doesn’t have the nous to get us into the top 6. We are too easy to score against and always have been in his reign here. I don’t see that changing. It’s all academic though, he’s not getting fired. He will leave when he wants to leave.
  3. I like TM but it's time for a change. It's the same old story time and time again. We have a good squad this year, good enough for top 6 but we're not getting anything other than mid table. Buck has to stop with the manager. Who fires him though? No one at the club will and the owners have no idea what they're doing, so it won't happen.
  4. Same old story yet again. We have a talented squad and are underachieving. No progress. Time for a change.
  5. Massive news which should hopefully encourage more to follow suit. That's the best bit of business we could have hoped for. Need to keep this squad together and keep building.
  6. I agree. He’s set up the infrastructure around him which has allowed Venkys to step back. I don’t think they’d know what to do if Mowbray left as others would probably follow him.
  7. They won't. They will be lucky to get top half. That was truly woeful. A team like that can easily go on a run where they go on a big losing run.
  8. 20 games in is a good time to reflect on the manager's position. We're playing better football but the results are the same as they've been for the past 2 seasons. We're not a million miles away from the play offs so I'd stick with TM over the festive period and then re-evaluate in early Jan.
  9. What an awful, awful side Stoke are. They crossed the halfway line once and scored. End of. We will finish above them at the end of the season. No doubts about that
  10. Mixed feelings about last night. Ultimately it's all about the result and getting 3 points so I'm happy. To score a last second goal to win a match is always a special moment. Also, to win a game when you've been so incredibly poor is every good sign. The 5 sub rule showed why it benefits bigger clubs like ours, their subs made them worse and swung the momentum in our favour. The performance for 80 minutes was inept though. Worrying the players didnt look particularly up for it. That's where we miss the fans to spur the players on; not many of the players seemed motivated on a cold night against an unfashionable team. Let's enjoy Harvey Elliot while he's, we're watching a future England star. Other observations: - Do we have Douglas' twin brother? - Buckley is not ready to start a match - Downing still oozes class
  11. We owe Rotherham an apology. Downing HAS to play, he totally changed that game. Can't help but feel their manager cost them, he made too many subs when they were well on top.
  12. I think we’ll win and Armstrong will get back on the scoresheet. We’ll hopefully have too much firepower for them.
  13. We're starting to get adrift of the top 6 a little now which is worrying. We have to stay within 5/6 points until we get Trav, Dack and Breo back. We can't afford to get another further adrift. Plenty of games to go of course but the margin for error gets smaller and smaller the further we get adrift. We need a storming Christmas period, but we tend to struggle over the festive period normally.
  14. Not a single win against a top half team. That's criminal. So frustrating that we have to work so hard for our goals yet other teams score with ease against us. The last three have been tough fixtures but we've come up short again. Another mid table season beckons I fear.
  15. Not surprised. Norwich are a very good team, probably the best in the division. Only positive is that we’re still in this game...just.
  16. Ayala has barely played this year so 3 games in 7 days would be too much for him. I’m sure that’s the thinking behind Williams getting the nod ahead of him today.
  17. I think we'll get well beaten today. They have a very good team and a top manager
  18. WOW that is a result to be proud of. Battling qualities in abundance. I didn’t see us scoring in a million years...and neither did their manager hence why he subbed quite a few of their best players. You can never discount this team and their manager has just found that out. Mind you, I don’t think TM thought we stood a chance either and decided to rest Armstrong and Rothwell for the next game after we went 2-1. Special mention to Buckley for sticking at it and digging in at RB against one of the best left backs in this league. Gallagher MOTM.
  19. When is Williams back? We need him for the next game. I believe it’s only a one game ban for Lenihan he got a red for denying a goal scoring opportunity rather than through dangerous play.
  20. Playing so well and then the game changes on its head in an instant. Buckley at right back is something I never thought I’d see, and neither did I want to see it. Needless to say I’d be delighted with a point. We had a lot of luck with the decisions against Millwall but not today.
