  1. Great signing! Cantwell and pacy left winger to go.
  2. Sorry, it was poorly worded. I meant they have been given little money to spend despite us bringing in a huge amount from player sales.
  3. Duberry and Cantwell all but done apparently. Excellent signings. The new recruitment team have pulled it out the bag this window. They've done very well inspite of very little money being made available from player sales.
  4. Pacy wingers on both wings and Cantwell as the playmaker. Very tasty.
  5. Solid signing and bags of championship experience. Adds some extra squad depth in CM but I don't think he's any better than what we already have. The signings tomorrow (if they happen!) could well be the game changers we need.
  6. If the GK turns out to be good then I think those 4 get us very close to top 6 if we stay relatively injury free. We have added lots of championship experience; some potential match winners in Ohashi, Cantwell, and Duberry; and a strong presence up top in Gueye. The championship is really weak this season so you don't need to be that great to do well. BUT none of those 4 players have signed yet.
  7. Anyone else getting nervous all these deals are gonna fall apart?! All apparently are very close to being done deals! We've been here before though. We get Baker, Duberry, Cantwell, and Toth in then we've had our best window for a long, long time. We'd be genuine top 6 contenders given the league is weak this year. If we can add a pacy left winger too then that would a bonus but I'd be very happy with the four above.
  8. I live in the Brighton area so I have heard lots about him in the local press and from Brighton fans. He's very good! Arsenal wanted to keep him which says everything.
  9. The Brighton guy would be a game changer imo. Turns us from a mid table team to play off contenders. I think he's that good.
  10. He did. Said it's all been agreed but there will be a "stringent" medical tomorrow given the wages involved. He also said the Hungarian GK is flying over tonight and he's heard good things about him. We have spoken to the Brighton guy but he's got a few options so we'll see. Also interested interested in Dembele even if we sign the Brighton guy, but price will have to drop. It could even be a loan.
  11. He's a top player therefore I don't see it happening. Cantwell and Duberry would turn us into a very good team.
  12. Cantwell incoming...if we remember to press send, of course. That's potentially our best signing of the window and a big coup.
  13. Cantwell incoming...if we remember to press send, of course. That's potentially our best signing of the window and a big coup.
  14. Travers, Rushworth et al were never realistic signings imo. They would cost good money on loan and there were other clubs after them. The common theme with all our signings is that they're cheap and no other clubs were in for them, maybe with the exception of Beck. It's shocking we cannot compete in the transfer market when we've raked in so much money.
  15. I'd be happy to have a punt on the Hungarian GK rather John Ruddy. Local media seem to rate him highly. Cantwell would be a top signing but let's see if we can get it done. Pacy winger and CM desperately needed too. But the glaring fact is that we have raked in a huge amount of money and spent none of basically. That's shameful.
  16. I think Cantwell would be a very good signing for us. Bags of talent but a poor attitude. Similar to Dembele. Both of those players have more talent than the vast majority of our current squad. I think this a very good home for those types of players and we have the right manager to get the best out of them. It's what we used to do in the good old days under Allardyce and Hughes.
  17. We all know we're gonna end up with Ruddy on loan
  18. Beck sounds like a very good player. But £40m in the bank and we are signing loan players and have spent a pittance. Thank you Venky's.
  19. Travers would be a good signing but I doubt it's true.
  20. Matondo incoming according to the Scottish press. I think he would be a good signing. Bags of pace, bags of potential, and a good age. Not worked out at Rangers but there's much less pressure here, so a better environment to grow and development. Reading between the lines, it sounds like we have deals agreed with a number of players but there's different opinions internally on who we should push ahead with. Park probably wants Matondo, Rudy wants Germain, and Eustace wants Dembele!
  21. The noises seem to be that the court case today won't impact new players coming in but we shall see. Good news if true.
  22. Dembele is a more talented player than Germain so I can understand that preference. Big question marks over his attitude and work rate though. Stansfield is not happening. We all know that.
  23. Oh what a surprise! The worst possible outcome but also the predictable one. The Sammie money now gets sucked up into keeping the lights on until November.
  24. A replacement for Markanday and Vale. The latter will prob go out on loan.
  25. Bang on. The story is a column filler and does not suggest we will sign him, only that his old manager would love to sign him. I'd love to sign him as well but it's not happening at £6m. Ryo will probably sign as he's cheap and no other clubs in for him. Definitely worth a punt after the Yuki signing working out very well so far.
