Talk of exciting additions has been said multiple times since the Vs turned up. It’s always been bs. This window all comes down to JDT. His vision and the path forward. Clearly GB will also be important. We won’t have a significant budget, no point in pretending. The owners won’t change their spots. The rest of the senior management are incompetent. We need to replace the spine of the team and add experience. It’s going to take a couple of windows at least. Potential new players have to be sold on the “project”. Hopefully we get whoever in early and sell BBD early to get a decent replacement.

Ok page 100. 3 first team players gone for nothing. BBD will be sold. No sign of any signings. Probably won’t be any soon. O and lots of arguments. About sums everything up nicely I think. I feel for JDT and gab. Both will be off if their hands are being tied.

We just have a new setup at the club. Let’s all just take a breath. We are short Multiple players but JDT and gb need some time to assess what we have and then identify replacements. Really hard to say how any player currently at the club will get on in the new system. Primarily because we don’t know what it will look like. Gally deserves a chance in his preferred position and see what he can do . I can’t say how he will get on. The only prediction I will make is Diaz won’t be here come the start of the season. So it’s all about how much of that money we can spend from his sale.

Quite a few topics is this tread right now. JDT was a steal for this club simple. The credit I think lays with GB. Another good appointment. It seems a universally a popular appointment. On big Sam. Sacking him was nuts and nothing will ever convince me otherwise. Worst of all the Vs decisions.

His interaction with the players is natural . Some are positive because maybe they wanted a change. Some are negative because they hate change (who does) and some nervous because they have no idea what’s coming. Lots of the younger guys would fit the last group because they have no clue how they fit in. Dack has been the main man and told so for years. He now must wonder on his future. Travis and gally both are confident for their own reasons. At the end of the day that was a very short clip and we saw a select few reactions. Exactly, he has seen the list and has some players in mind. We are really light in multiple positions and bodies are needed. Then later in the window they can assess what we have and tweak. Fist things first field a team

Clearly GB turned up, saw the shitshow of a manager search and said children please leave this to the adult in the room. His thought process for picking JDT is precise and logical. This all feels weird. I am starting to think a change is a foot and maybe a brighter future. It’s the hope that kills though

The first time since Mark H was appointed that I feel we have a potentially exciting manager. You can point to our new set up and call it inexperienced. However we have actually seen something very un venky happen. These appointments actually makes some sense. A dof who can spot good young players and a manager who is happy to leave player signing to a dof. Plus he has been allowed bring in his men. I would go further and say he was the choice of the dof which is really joined up thinking. Frightening stuff really

Now our captain has left I must say as a proud Irish rover I feel quite flat. Rovers have always had a link with the national team. I remember being very excited the title season when kenna signed. Of course there was duffer and Moran. Plus many from the north. Growing up there were always plenty of rovers fans over here. Not at utd or Liverpool levels but respectable. Now we are nearly extinct. Calling all Irish rovers what are your memories? And to our uk neighbours your memories of Irish guys wearing that famous jersey.

Gotta say sacking sam was a crazy decision at the time. You can expect new owners to put their stamp on things. But in the middle of a season when we were comfortable, just stupid. Then actually doing it and replacing in house was nuts. Sam was very frustrating, I mean andrews to this day annoys me when I see him on tv. The owners knew they weren’t ever going to invest so Sam actually was ideal for them. The idiots

Simple truth is that everyone knew TM was leaving weeks before the end of the season. A replacement should have been lined up then and announced once the season was done. The fact they waited to start after the end of the season shows in lack of leadership

I agree. Ainsworth was in my top few from the start. I’m sure he would love to manage rovers. But work for venkys…….

Christ this topic is depressing. Any half decent manager is a no go. Only failures or novices are our real options. I honestly think it would be easier to get the guns from the yanks than get a good manager here. I’m actually praying for ainsworth to come save us!

Please everyone stop with sensible names. We know how appointments are made at rovers. It will be the worst and cheapest option. They will see it as a bonus to infuriate the fan base. We are rovers under Vs ownership. How any of their businesses are profitable is beyond me. I guess it must be difficult to screw up in the chicken trade

Ferguson and unsworth are disasters waiting to happen. If they were anywhere near good enough Everton would have given them a chance at some point even on a short term basis. Ainsworth to me might be a good option but the Vs will go cheap.

Ferguson at 4/11. If he is our manager then 4/11 on the we are a league 1 team in 12 months. Vs never learn. We really should only expect the worst from them and their employees.

Do those inside the club know who the interviewers are? It comes back to the total lack of any info from the club/owners We know no actual timeline. Other clubs always outline a timeline for these type of appointments. This is a shorter summer than typical. They really should have had someone lined up ages ago. It was very clear we weren’t going to make the playoffs and the TM was going. This is not a time for a long protracted appointment.
