According to Mike Jackman's book, Blackburn Rovers - A Complete Record, Clayton wore the number 4 while Douglas wore the number 10 shirt. -

Looking at the fixtures, if we get to the group stages of the UEFA Cup we've got one Saturday home game before November, and that's Chelsea on the 26th August, which could be moved too. -

It's going to be interesting to see how many Saturday games we get between the start of the season and Christmas. The first two games of the UEFA Cup are on Thursdays, which means Sunday league games, and the first 4 group stage games are also on Thursdays, which also means a move to Sunday. Given we'll be on Sky 3 times before Christmas the nightmare scenario is that we have only a couple of games on Saturdays before Christmas which means very low gates and much shuffling of people's diaries. -
I'm sorry, but Liverpool need to move on. Tell the Liverpool fan outside Gladstones a few years back with the machete that we should respect the dead and I'll show you a Rovers fan not getting a season ticket next year because the fixtures get moved around too much. It's sick. Heysel? That's all swpet under the carpet, but whose fault was that? It's not a real world we live in. Media hype and media mythology rule, and Liverpool seem the main beneficiaries. We're losing out, and there's nothing we can do about it.

Looks like Middlesbrough are having the same problems....... http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/...1675696,00.html

If you take the same procedure they use for the FA Cup (i.e, numbers for the next round are determined in the order of the previous round) the draw should have been as follows (as per the Football Leage Website): http://www.football-league.premiumtv.co.uk...,,10794,00.html 2 Arsenal v 3 Man Utd 1 Wigan v 4 Blackburn Conspiracy? No, I didn't think so either.

[Archived] Huddersfield Town 3-1 FT
jrabrfc replied to Modi's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Just got back. All in all it was as you'd expect, Rovers never make it easy and they didn't tonight although they were in control for much of the game. Positives were Bellamy's finishing which was top drawer, and also Bentley who showed some good touches. Emerton was at his frustrating best, apart from a header which was saved well by the keeper. Perhaps Pederson should have played instead with Bentley on the right, it could have given us more of a threat up front. Don't know the crowd, but there were about 4,000 Huddersfield fans in the ground when Bellamy scored the first and 6,000 in at the end. A lot missed a good chunk of the game. But, a win is a win and you can't complain about three goals. We have to play 2 up front against teams at home though. -
That'll work. 1-0 1 minute!

Just had my pizza for tea - just hope Milan can blow Liverpool's season out of the water. I don't see why we should support the British club, especially as it was Liverpool who got British clubs kicked out of Europe in the 80's. Darwen will be full of plastic scousers who jump around the pub when Liverpool score and yet have never been to Anfield, the same people who slag off Blackburn Rovers and their fans. Sack that. Forza Milan!!!

Does anyone have any links to photos from last night's encounter? There's a Dingle at work needs baiting but I can't find any good photos to send him.

I remember the lad walking into the lamp post. How the coach full of us laughed! Another funny moment was Ronnie Jepson walking back towards the tunnel after warming up. He tried to do a "look at how cool I am" spit and managed to gob all down his tracksuit. Class.

The team weren't up for the game. At 1-0 we had a couple of chances and some pressure, but failed to kill the game off. Second half we didn't really ever look like scoring and then we switched off to let them get a goal up. If that's all we've got in reserve it's going to be a long wait until the transfer window opens again.
