  1. We got 5 years service from Gallagher at least but on the face of it it's 12 million down the drain. All for 2 good half seasons and 1.5 million back at very best. Venky Rovers logic.
  2. Gestede was supposed to be learning Waggots job, then he was head of heads but it looks and sounds from the outside more like he is director of recruitment.
  3. As usual it's very annoying there hasn't been much actual investment in buying players but wrong to say they haven't spent quite a bit. The 'committed' spend in wages for signings, short term contracts and loans will be very hefty and it seems that is where the money has been directed, boosting the wage bill rather than investments. Shortermism yet again from the club who are either desperate to give Eustace as much backing as they could OR Maybe it's Vs last throw of the dice......
  4. The Eggs stock has fallen even further now but it always seems the case the better they are at the talk and spin the worse they actually are at the job.
  5. Heard about that but thought it was a myth, never seen it until now. Great find👍
  6. Don't joke like that the M6 has been closed in both directions this evening......
  7. Swags pulled the two year 20k a week offer and replaced it with one year 14k pwk plus bonuses !
  8. If they are taking a hands off approach because for once it isn't their money actually running things then i'd suggest its working ! Mind you it's probably more to do with an ambitious young coach who knows this league and accepts the limitations of budget whilst being in sync with his recruitment staff. Time will tell but the resurrection out of yet another self created mess is very encouraging, regardless of what happens tomorrow.
  9. What we learned is do not rush this lad in until the time is right. There was instant clamour for Leo just because we paid 800k and the assumption we'd bought an instantly better than Pears new number 1. That was never going to be the case but circumstances meant he had to be thrown in and it back fired badly. Patience this time is needed all round unless Pears is injured or resorts to throwing them in. Lets give this lad a few months to get up to speed then challenge properly for the jersey not just howl for him to be chucked in because we've lost a few. Lessons need to be learned.
  10. Late in the window bid accepted for Trav would be my guess.
  11. He might be told to keep schtum in case it fell through and they were left looking stupid again.
  12. So lets get a good season out of him then flog him a bit like Bellamy 🤞
  13. He can never say 'i don't know' can he.
  14. Is Cantwell another Rodwell ? He was raved about and needed a loving home, cost a packet then was largely disinterested and useless.
  15. Iv'e heard how last time they paid off the 65 mill urgent loan, sold 80 million of players, bought 40 millions worth and walked the league, all easy peasy. So here they are again but it looks a bit different this time and maybe they'll realise hedge fund investors are playing Russian Roulette with their club whilst drawing a return. If it doesn't go tits up this time it will eventually.
  16. We are actually or at least should be in a far stronger financial position than last time there was a fire sale because there were still people on the books from Keans time and after. It took a fire sale, relegation and financial audit plus a few 30 mill plus owner share issues to sort that out, how many years ago now ? So surely this time with the slashed wage bill in recent years and all the sales squaring off FFP we are in a great position to finally rebuild ? Oh wait......the owners won't/can't fund it so the chief penny pincher and his shadow boss are just preparing future ground for 80% of transfer income paying running costs. And some STILL don't want to see the back of this lot !
  17. It's similar to what they did last time but as pointed out they had Kompany. However it's obvious you don't deal with any dingles other than the tame one on here but if you did you'd understand the mutual dislike. In terms of delusion there has always been something different in the water over that way. Last season they were crowing we'll never play you again, we are finishing top half and a lot of the players we are bringing in are for the long term and will grow into good Prem players worth money, even if we drop again briefly. Well.........
  18. For me it was straight back to the Mowbray cup days, rest a few, give a few a run out, throw a kid in. Those who get picked regularly just go through the motions as do the older lads and squad members. Some know they won't start the next match whatever they do and others just don't want to get injured. Nobody particularly arsed including the staff. Stark contrast to the JDT created play a young side and all can stake a claim for a start in the next match. Poor attitude all around last night so lets hope it's a lot better on Saturday !
  19. He only wanted to press his trousers.
  20. Our search for a keeper is beginning to reek of desperation and will end in another Leo style punt. It's simple really if you want a decent want you have to spend money, still can't believe they haven't recruited one as back up from a lower league club before now. There must be one out there somewhere.
  21. No, they used to have maybe 2 or 3 which was supplemented by filling the squad with academy kids. Now with budget cuts we may be allowed ONE marquee earner whilst everyone else is on lower wages and he may already be here called Siggy.
  22. Yeah we were all praying for him to come back last time.
  23. Yeah we were all praying for him to come back last time.
  24. Leo all over again if he ends up being thrown in early.
