  1. That Poveda loan deal who the hell signed that off ? A lot of money down the pan o that one alone....again !
  2. There were claims to the contrary when TM was in charge. However if a lot of these are heavily subsidised then it's understandable the clubs doing the lending will want something guaranteeing. Does seem a bit of a heavy handed way to go about it though but i'm sure we can start looking elsewhere, seeing as he's been at Preston and we are looking it must be a cheap deal to begin with. Two years at PNE though and now going to another similar level club suggests to me he isn't all that i think some are going over the top in regards to him. Just because it involves the name Liverpool. There must be others.
  3. This could be when the proverbial gets teal then.
  4. Please don't tell me we are back to the old i know something you don't nonsense.
  5. The fact he came through our academy and was good enough to play 180 games for us is a massive plus considering that's the whole idea. As for adapting to the modern game well he hasn't been playing that way until a couple of seasons ago and on the other side it seems Pickering hasn't adapted either. Bell before him couldn't adapt in fact several players have been in that position whilst Ryan mainly made the RB spot his own. So you are talking shite it's fuck all to do with adapting it's all about him being better at his specialist position which is RB in a back 4. And that's only because he can't cross pass or create at the other end everything else about his game is decent. Imo he'll probably end up at Wigan or somewhere else as right sided in a back 3 and be very good at it. Thankfully now we have a recruitment team who can perhaps bring in horses for courses instead of Mowbrays make your feet fit the shoe policy.
  6. Yes that's the best way to describe it we've paid a good fee so it's fair enough to expect an upgrade. The issue we all thought we were facing was one of finding somebody better for nothing. That's a whole different ball game.
  7. Early signs are good but lets not jump the gun the only real time to judge is the end of the season.
  8. Did cost us a million to replace him though not the few hundred grand presumed !
  9. I think they probably have finally realised about the changing demographic and been panicked into doing something. It's long overdue and they seem to be doing a good job, the club belongs to the whole town after all. However it should never be at the expense of long standing fans or lapsed regulars from a bit further afield. If you can bus local kids in for nowt you can bus a few in from outside town as well for balance.
  10. Careful, remember when Mowbray thought we were ok for centre backs and let the back up man go because he felt sorry for him....... Failure to prepare.
  11. People would rather get by on a diet of spade loads of bull because even though it is mostly bull it comes at them thick and fast. If they want fictional content to keep the mind occupied i suggest they read a book instead. Or follow Nixon and the red tops.
  12. 100% agree Though last season was probably our once in a decade real chance if we can end up building on it we;ll give ourselves a chance at least. As for BBD no point selling him now really we might as well get the best out of him for another season. Vs don't want or need the money but the club does. It won't make any difference until next years books anyway now so there'd be no benefit to the team this season unless they got in a swift high quality loanee. With them possibly being able to inject a bit more next summer it covers the loss of a sale anyway given what we are likely to end up with money wise.
  13. I think it's you who needs to naff off you probably aren't suited to this kind of place. Mard arses never are and you are now indulging in your own slanging match after complaining about content on here. If you want to do so take it to DM but otherwise feel free to tell us what you have to say about transfer instead of a hypocritical post being a moaner moaning about the moaners. Get it !
  14. So that 60 mill is basically the 20 mill per season they already put in to cover shortfalls. We still need a sale to reinvest.
  15. You know interest in Rovers has been pricked again when Henry turns up.
  16. The only 'Cult' was the Mowbray IS Blackburn Rovers cult we can't possibly sack him even in the face of record home defeat or 10 game winless runs. Ridiculous notions for any football club to have.
  17. I'm still wondering what Phil Brown is gonna do when he gets here, mow the grass ?
  18. After FIVE years of it we knew the pattern so come on no need for the muck raking. This league is getting more and more tactical as time goes on and a lot of managers will try changes with varying success. Mowbray was no different but for most of the time there didn't seem to be a clear plan A in the first place and he clearly put what the opposition did -whoever they were- over what we did. JDT it's too early to tell but there does seem to be a clear foundation in place to build formations etc on. Plus having so many young legs he clearly won't tolerate anything other than high energy and hard work. Mowbray didn't always have that before last season preferring largely to keep his faith in journeymen and back up squad signings. However like i said after 5 years it was abundantly clear TM WAS a tinkerman by his own design and i think he'd admit it himself.
  19. Rovers 0 WBA 0 Think we might show the defensive side in this one and sit a bit deeper as these lot are very dangerous on the break. An entertaining draw. 14,767
  20. What Nixon was was a guy speaking from inside a certain agency it's no coincidence he has his finger on the pulse when they were infesting all levels at Ewood. Also no coincidence that as they were weeded out his info became all but a trickle, now it's a drip.
  21. Nobody is immune to being blocked by him i got blocked for talking to an agent who was in a row with the SEM boys at Bolton a decade ago.
