The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

One thing i will say is a few off here need to have a good read of that Stoke board to see the amount of people writing him off, moaning about moaners and brandishing their own fans negative. I mean that only ever happens on here right ? -

Sales basically ground to a halt once the early bird stopped they can't have sold more than a few hundred after that. Just how in this world is that good business i'm certain another thousand would have shifted had EB been extended but oh no selling a few hundred a full whack makes more sense to them. Bizarre people. -

Undisclosed fee which means it ain't much no way have Stoke gone from 800k offers to 1.6 million that's fantasy land. Probably just north of a million including add ons that may or may not get triggered and like i said yesterday i think Rovers will have bent over a bit on this one after committing to spend a bit yesterday. Good luck Sam no doubt you'll turn into a double figure striker now ! -

He's signing all these defenders just so we don't get pumped at the Turd ! -

You'd think 29 games in the Scottish Prem and good reviews would perfectly place him to be knocking on the door here next season. -

And Gallagher will be a bigger miss than him. -

Maybe he just wants to go and play first team football for a club that wants him, sometimes it's that simple. -

No success of a player is guaranteed but you give yourself the best possible chances when paying money for lads with at least a bit of pedigree and rep for being the best in their position at their club and in their league. See Szmods, see Dack, see AA when at Coventry etc but you simply have to pay for them which is something this lot now seem incapable of doing despite the proven success rate. These lads we are signing now are complete and utter shots in the dark who need to adjust to new country, culture, weather, time before they even start on the football. Anyone in denail to all that needs to have a rethink. -

And i think a big part of the problem was they went all in on youth too quickly in an attempt to cut costs because of the finance issues. A model was brought in that had 30% of the first team squad as youth and young loans on top of that so it's a massive risk, too much too soon. Add to that all the back up players to develop Broughton brought in were totally useless and between them made no contribution whatsoever last season. So no surprise we ended up in the mess we did and such a naive position to throw ourselves into by Waghail, no wonder either that Broughton was potted. -

Hes been brought in for show and to add yet another layer in front of Waggot and Shadow Man. So far hes had about 3 different job titles and remits but it actually looks like he's just here to get some cheap players through the door via his contacts. Could be a masterstroke could be another white elephant but yet again it makes you wonder why they can't just be honest, which being honest he's probably an agent or consultant but as we know you can't employ people like that directly so they throw out various titles and job descriptions. I think he'll get a few through the door and maybe a few out, make a few quid then he'll be gone in a year or two at most. -

We also have to take into account we are on the back of the worst season in about 8 years, we are selling every decent player to pay the bills, the clubs finances and ownership are in a mess and moral, faith and interest is as low as at any time under Venkys ...again. Sales this summer where never going to be great barring a radical price cut but having said that the number of young adult tickets sold is embarrassing given they are good value. -

He's from Colchester isn't he ? So i'd say he'd favour this move over most others outside of a massive club and although i don't want to lose him it's a great move for him for numerous reasons. Then again maybe being from there he hates Ipswich Town who knows but it's been well reported it was HIS agent who pitched him to the tractor boys. -

Said it numerous times they aren't that bothered because over the course of a season we'll have an ave of about 3k buying match by match in home sections paying full whack odd game aside. That is a significant income that wouldn't be there if 90% of home attendees were on ST's. He knows every season they are looking at 7/8k season tickets and home turnouts of c12k so it's all about how he squeezes that to hit his targets. -

I think it falls in line with how they operate having a couple of cheap deals lined up but despite having the money allocated still hang around trying to guarantee one out first. Manager etc put the pressure on so on this occasion Waghail have caved in. -

That was probably the smokescreen stuff Rovers Insider was on about whilst the actual real targets were somewhat less known.
