  1. We've had Collier his name was Leo ! I'd give anything for a Mark Grew though. I thought Dewhurst and Shep did ok they were literally just thrown in now of this blooding youth that goes on now and yes he was a small lad from what i remember.
  2. Hmmm but could end up more like when we were scrabbling around signing one legged Jim Beglin and Phil Starbuck, Jason Beckford and co. Then throwing in Bob Dewhurst and Paul Shepstone !
  3. Now i hope some understand what iv'e been getting at for a long time now that it's him and his pal in the shadows who are mainly to blame for Lenihen, Rothwell, Nyambe and BBD leaving for absolutely nothing. Low balled all of them 18 months before their contracts expired using the pandemic as his excuse so on advice of our own fucking manager and his side kick they began putting feelers out elsewhere. Then it was too late when they knew what they'd get elsewhere and he was panicking offering money we couldn't afford to some and no one took him seriously. Useless tosser several fathoms out of his depth who'll end up throwing silly money at the likes of Mcfadz and Fleck etc to cover his own failings.
  4. Will Thomas want to play in another team that'll likely be fighting the drop again ?
  5. Main job here was to win free kicks under instruction from Allardyce to be fair.
  6. An attacking version of The Axe ? That'll do for me.
  7. I keep seeing this beyond the boundaries of this board and i find it hard to fathom if it's coming from fans who've watched him regularly. A luxury player if ever there was one he really has a lot of work to do if he is to do half of what those 2 did in their best spells.
  8. Under normal circumstances he'd be one i'd have had through the door soon as he's a waste of space and probably has his eye on being fit for international commitments. Evans mk2
  9. Sell good players and established ones and replace with squad fillers and bodies for the sake of it and we are here again on a one way ticket to a dog fight by May.
  10. This one has form for being credible once or twice.
  11. That should mean once funding is restored to previous levels from India we can now spend over the next two years and build a top 6 challenging team 😉
  12. Proper old school dust up that two old big lumps throwing boxing fundamentals out the window and just slugging it out. Didn't even pretend to hate each other in the build up either, great example to other HWs who make up the top 15 but never fight each other. Hope both these two retire now neither is beating anyone else who is any good but we need more to step up to the plate and give that kind of entertainment.
  13. When we were in the Prem although what you say about standards needed rings true we produced an awful lot of lower league players who left for nothing or a few hundred grand. As our standards have dropped i still think the academy raised their bar and concentrated on quantity rather than churning a load of lower range players over in constant pursuit of the next Jones. Obviously our required standard has dropped and the two have met somewhere in the middle but i see the conveyor belt grinding to a halt pretty soon now.
  14. The first instalment on Sammie will be about 1,5 mill probably so some of that might be a bit of spending money.
  15. Think the paddy was more to do with by that point he was out the loop and feeding too much bull people began seeing through it and calling him out. Handbags gave him a good excuse to bow out once he'd been sussed then he went on his FUD blocking mission on twitter the sad old windbag.
  16. Don't be silly he's travelling overland and by slow boat a bit like a gap year student.
  17. Shouldn't have come to that and given him the option though but guess what he'd just seen several others do it.
  18. I wish him the best it's the owners and CEO and shadow director who are responsible for blowing 7 million on him and not getting a penny in return that enabled this 12 months later. May the Lord look down from heaven and shite all over them.
  19. Now if ever owners of a football club needed justification to remove its inept CEO and shadow directors then this is it. Absolutely ####### scandalous.
  20. As Mowbray himself said after he left you can't keep promoting under 21s into the senior squad to replace players you've sold for good money and expect to get any better. You have to RE-INVEST from those fees as well.
  21. Hobnob tax, great idea. If they charge 4 quid for a pie just because it's served hot ,enough to heat a small village in mid winter, inside a football ground then a pound a biscuit to the execs seems fair enough !
  22. It's no different to what many of us say or perceive about the core of posters on the LT or facebook sites, twitter imo is far more in line with what gets said on here. Certainly amongst the grown ups on there and most of those screenshot posts will be from kids who haven't yet discovered where their arse is never mind elbow when it comes to Rovers. Lets be honest when most of us were 19 we thought most Rovers fans over 30 were miserable moaning negative wankers. No different amongst any other similar clubs when you look around except our fanbase remains one of the most insular in the country and some think being angry is unique to Blackburn. For balance any positivity also gets jumped on far too quickly but when it comes to 'fans blaming fans' for our recurring problems we are numero uno in the country for that which is very very sad. As are those who stoke that particular issue.
  23. Jack Walker set our academy up about 25 years ago and its paid for itself and has recently been producing players sound enough for a championship squad. The ONE and ONLY thing Venkys have got right is keeping it going and as a cat 1 set up though how long that will last now is debatable. The CEO has also born the hallmarks of someone who would;ve cut that back years ago given half the chance. There's no sense in spending 100's of millions on one though that would be pointless and defeat the object. Ours has cost 2 to 3 mill per year to run and a third of that comes from grants.
  24. We've been saying that ever since he broke into the first team squad and had a brief good spell as a kind of false 9 who never ran into the box. Played there by TM because they felt he wasn't ready physically for his natural deeper midfield spot but in truth i think time has told us he is a tidy but bang average footballer who lacks the necessary tenacity.
