The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)
tomphil replied to RoversClitheroe's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Think he was 1.8 million not including adds or sell ons. As for Vs i'm not sure in their minds it's end game at all i still think that will have to be forced one way or another. What is in their minds us just keep the club in business and we end up where we end up but the lights are still on and they still own it. Then they'll expect (and get from some bizarre sections of the fanbase) credit for propping up a league 1 club to the tune of 5 or 6 million a year. -

When was the last time Rovers spent 2.5 million on anyone let alone when we have serious funding issues ? His transparency is so obvious. -

Full of shit. Loads of stick flying around over no signings despite already selling 25 mill worth of talent with more outgoings lined up then suddenly Nixon does a damage limitation piece on behalf of the club. If ANY of those incomings and spending happens i'm the King of Norway. -

The LT comments read the same when Kean was here, when Coyle was here, when we fast tracked to league 1 last time. It's the one and only platform the club propaganda merchants, dingles and clowns get airtime without getting hounded off. We know the LT is just the clubs propaganda arm. -

Last year the priority in summer switched to just stay in the league but this summer i suggest its switched to just stay in business regardless of where we end up. -
No, just blank looks and shoulder shrugs. The problem inside Ewood isn't this mythical perceived support for the owners and those running it the problem is all out apathy. Most have given up it's all been seen and heard in the last decade so now it's just a case of turn up out of loyalty to the team and shirt, expect nothing and put up with it or stay at home. Just the way Waggot and the owners want it but just like you can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink Rovers fans have never been ones to be told what to do.

A message to you Rudi... Try again.

He tries to pass it off as his own though that's the sad bit. -

£££ signs flash in Waggot and Suhails eyes. 5 goals before Christmas and they'll be selling him in January ! -

I'd like to see proof of the actual numbers for Armstrong. You can have a deal of whatever figure but it only comes reality in number terms if all the clauses and triggers are hit. I doubt, to date, the AA deal has been worth more than 12 million to us received money including the sell on. -

Whatever happens in these pre season games the shit is hitting the fan big time at some point at Ewood this season. Off the pitch as well BUT if they clear out Sammie and Sam for money and wages off the books, get rid of Siggy then it's obvious we are in the mire financially and that is just the finger in the dyke that staves it off a few moths longer. Whatever happens in court in August unless the Vs get around the 20% tariff on money transfer funding will be massively reduced anyway. This is the future boys and girls so get used to it, there might be 5 or 6 come in but how many more out first and what quality the replacements ? -

Same with Armstrong and Rhodes and would have been the same with Dack and BBD, ask for 20 mill but any deal of around 12 million takes them. -

If he replaced Gallagher on half the wages and we got a fee for big Sam how would it look then i wonder ? Good business or another downgrade ? -

You'd think by now he'd have worked out exactly why he in particular was given the job. -
The accounting arguments and assumptions are largely based on known facts and they are that the VH group is the ultimate parent company. It owns and funds VLL which in turn owns and funds Blackburn Rovers so obviously it is all tied in within a giant accounting process of the VH empire. Quite how it sits in there and if it serves a purpose or not nobody knows but it's there it's all in black and white and official, documents. Nothing spurious about that.

I think originally it was bought as a personal plaything with a global advertising platform for the company. Since then imo things had to change because rather than being self financing with the odd few million chucked in it became a financial black hole that needed filling so in order to keep it going they had to find a way to sit it in the books. Just my opinion based on what we've seen and of course it still remains a plaything to some but seeing as it's company money not personal that keeps it going it has to be referred to as an investment. Though what exactly they are investing in is up for debate because the chances of any return are virtually non unless they have a way of running transfer income back towards India ? Doesn't appear the case though and it seems the Indian authorities are now wise to the 'investment' line being a red herring.

Whatever the accounting process it has certainly suited them for a good while now so if they can't use it to soak away profit, avoid some tax or whatever then what is the point in it all. Advertising is limited in the Championship and almost non existent in league 1 so we are back to just a plaything to keep certain siblings occupied or a gremlin that needs keeping in a box for fear of what'll be known if it gets out. The future under these lot is now as bleak as it has ever been at least with the '20 mill a season' there remained faint hope some manager would suddenly deliver one lucky season.
-
There is no ambition other than to stay in this league and some would even question that. You're missing the point on the 200 million by a long way for some reason, they know we aren't worth anything like that but they won't write it off. As long as we stay in their portfolio they don't lose 200 million paper wealth off their books and they certainly don't need the money. So they'll hang on and carry on ignoring us.

Venkys always ask for 20 million they did with Rhodes but ended up with 9 rising to 11. Did with Armstrong and ended up with just over half that, did with BBD initially so it doesn't mean a right lot in the grand scheme of things. Buyers know he wants to move, they know we need money and are willing sellers for a reasonable price.
