  1. Yet again different prices for the same standard of football against opposition in the same league. Utterly utterly clueless just make it £25 every game.
  2. No bother from Sunderland i believe they get full allocations everywhere whereas Leeds are usually under scrutiny.
  3. Nowt like that up there now just the ikea flat pack type stadium that is noisy when they are doing well and like a library when not, just like most modern gaffs. However they are banging them in so there'll be a big expectant crowd right behind them so time for some classic midweek smash and grab counter attacking. Grab an early goal and calm them down one thing i always take away from the North East clubs is how quickly they can get frustrated when things aren't going their way. Shit though it's midweek, first game for us after an International break so we know what that means, the classic Rovers no show ! Boro 2 Rovers 0
  4. He'll have the full story on Park he's his mate but Nicko likes to play both sides of the Venky fiddle. Praising them and defending them when they employ his pals, turning on them when they fire them off. In this instance i'd say it's probably Park who has walked for the second time after realising the place is as mad as he thought first time around.
  5. Well they would because the pipes draining under the pitch are unlikely to be the size of the eventual outflow into the river. Also at some point there might be multiple pipes merging somewhere under there i presume.
  6. It's getting noticed now quite a few fans of other clubs moaning that 'it's a regular thing with Blackburn this it needs looking into' We'll probably end up coping a fine before long.
  7. I reckon storm Bert could cross better than our Bert though.
  8. Another thing worth noting is over the last 20 years how much extra run off water is now finding its way into the river along it's course above Ewood ? Lack of dredging culverts and clearing grids etc that has blighted the whole country due to cutbacks, extra building ,concrete, tarmac being laid everywhere and new drains running into it. Changing farming practises using heavy machinery and rollers flattening fields to grow grass instead of animals and new ditches dug leading to the river. It all adds up and makes things worse.
  9. Yes i remember a few games postponed ate 80's. We are always looking for signs of incompetence at Rovers and they are often the gift that keeps giving but this problem can't be laid at Waggot or his partners door. It really does rest with the (weather) gods although in saying that i don't know the situation with covering the pitch but water still falls on that and has to get away. Without building some kind of soakaway lake or holding tanks not sure what they can ever do about this that is economically viable.
  10. Until they sort the drainage down there these things will always happen. Depending on pitch coverings or not they've had snow and ice on it then that melts followed by torrential rain means double the normal water to drain away. The drain into the river remain the issue when the river level is high.
  11. It's a hard one as unless it really is in the eye of a storm a professional pitch can be bad at 10 am but playable by 1 pm. We all take the piss but it's a tough call to make and any Pompey fans setting off would surely know the risk involved when the forecasts have been telling everyone for days there'll be a storm on Sat. If you're more than 50% worried you don't set off it's that simple.
  12. I think they've already said they will get more this season than last time. Leeds haven't been restricted for years that's why ko time is changed and Sunderland have never ever been restricted so it's an odd assumption. Think we all know Waggot only restricts anything when he has been forced to his attitude seems to be exactly the opposite, if he could give more he would.
  13. How many clubs the size of Rovers have we ever seen liquidated from the many who have fallen into or been plonked into admin ? Granted the rules and penalties for such have no doubt changed but still it would be a very rare set of circumstances that would see a club like us extinct. Scare stories without foundation don't help.
  14. When things click with JDTs style they click good.
  15. Seems the type to sit out his contract although his international career is important so downing tools and sitting out might not help that. Personally i'd be offing him to the first club who'd take him on outside of England.
  16. Yep and there have to be reasons so many get involved and are happy to run with these kind of loses. I'd imagine the loopholes are plenty and advantageous in ways only specialist accountants and highly trained lawyers can exploit.
  17. It's the one and only constant positive they've managed in their time here apart from actually keeping the lights on at the club despite numerous close calls. They deserve a bit of credit for standing firm on the academy as it's on record one or two managers and execs would prefer a lesser of different model, one of them is still drawing a fat salary and benefits so we can never rule it out whilst he's around. Lets not forget though that grants make up a large slice of the running costs for it and it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the Academy has had to make cutbacks as well. Only in the future would we begin to see if that has a negative affect or not as by the nature of that model it would take time to show unlike instant hits at first team level through players sales etc.
  18. Look in the mirror lad you only acknowledge the half truths that suit your own narrative.
  19. So the one and only thing that would make sense is put it up for sale at the price they paid. Crazy looking at it when it hasn't increased in value one jot in 14 years despite over £150 million in 'investment' on their balance sheet. And is actually one fixed asset lighter in terms of the training ground which would mean they'd have to knock that off the price unless they gifted it back. So a 200 million 'asset' is now worth about 15-20 million in potential sale price with the added caveat it'd come with an instant annual loss of 10-20 million once present transfer income is concluded. No wonder their authorities are having a closer look at it, whether by design or not it absolutely reeks of creative accounting or Persil.
  20. You can see the exact same thing will happen under Eustace he'll be shrugging his shoulders soon and boasting about possession stats and player value every time we lose.
  21. If 25 million was paid into the VH bank account it would count as income and it's the reverse of 20 million going out every year, so surely that would be liable and also maybe over here as well so a double whammy making a sale pointless for the money they'd get.
  22. That's a fair point actually, if they sold it tomorrow for 25 mill and cut the losses how would they get that money back into India ? Or more importantly back into their own pockets and not into the VH group accounts which would then surely be liable for a large wad of tax ? As iv'e always said it's more suited to their group accounts to lose ten or twenty mill through the club, up until now of course. Selling it might be pretty pointless for a whole host of reasons seeing as they don't need the money personally and the hassle involved and potential skeletons mean they'd rather just leave it and ignore it whilst (up until recently) enjoying any tax perks it might have provided.
  23. Iv'e tried to explain that several times over but he doesn't want to know it's easier to cry about doom that asses the situation using other examples. The only one some want to ever flag up is Bury for some bizarre reason yet i'd say another decade of this and we are more likely to end up like them if this ownership continues and something finally gives. The general idea amongst a lot of still attending fans seems to be 'ah well they keep chucking in 20 mill and paying the bills so one day we'll get lucky'. Well those days are gone now so what next ?
  24. Who'd be surprised if we started that season with another decimated squad, searching for a new head coach, no budget and the threat of relegation and next to no funding. Join us for the fight against relegation in our 150th birthday season - adult ST's start from £400.
