This is a very easy gig for managers etc to get their mates in through the door on good contracts we've seen it all before. Crazy thing is in our current state those 3 i mentioned do actually strengthen the squad but financially we really need to be putting what little money there is to the best possible use, like buying a good forward to replace Sammie !
-
I'm pretty mixed on him tbh he did some good stuff but also the bit that is actually supposed to be his area of expertise - young players for next to nothing to polish and sell - he flopped very badly. However after 30 million of sales and more pending he had every right to demand some kind of budget in order to improve on who he could target. And he'd proven he could use a bit of money well even if his cheap young back up recruits were dire.
-
If Eustace said i want to use the tiny budget by re-signing Mcfadz, bringing in Ruddy and the ageing striker from Brum whilst extending Gallys contract i expect Broughton would be against that.
-
I wonder if the 30% on purpose youth pathway rule was one implemented by Gregg and as we've seen it has proven too high a risk ?
-
Mr D apparently or so the rumour mill said. Always seems there's a difference of family opinion there between the two head honchos and Barry bling and co. I'd say shadow MD and Waggot are very much Barrys men just like Anderson and crew were.

RIP another true Rover Wasn't he the chap who was the link between the club and Jersey ?

Whichever fancies a jolly up. -
We are owned by billionaires but they've fallen foul of ignoring their own countries laws and after dragging the club into a shell of its former self over the last decade now can't fund their baby. So please roll up and chuck out 4/500 quid up front whilst we sell the last remaining best player, spend nothing of the 40 million we've brought in and embark on operation 4th from bottom. All whilst the inept CEO and his puppet master OM in the shadows pocket ate least half a mill between them. Roll up roll up you ungrateful Blackburn barstools !

At the right price or right early bird incentive then even after this season and all the nonsense yet again foisted onto us by those running and owning the place we could still turn 9k into 12k. There is absolutely no desire to do that though.

In the LT's overall player ratings average for the season Pears ave is 5.5 and Leo is 4 If that doesn't tell the story i don't know what does it's clear there is a serious issue with the keeper dept that is unlikely to improve to the required standard unless it's strengthened. A keeper even in a struggling side should be averaging 6.5 to 7. -

Good shot stoppers ? I suggest a browse at a few of the goals that flew straight through Leo. Lad badly needs a loan out in the rough and tumble of the lower leagues he will not improve sat on the bench here and coming in when needed but making cock up costing goals is no good for us. However we are now run as a development team trying to stay in the league so those running it don't give a ####. Hopefully the manager puts his foot down. -

As Tim Flowers once said it's not about the spectacular tv saves and tipping them out the top corner, no, being a good keeper is all about being good at the basics and minimising mistakes. The two we have now have a long way to go but Pears would be ok if one game in four he didn't lose the plot, the errors are way too often for my liking. -

But loan them out so they learn their trade and make their mistakes elsewhere. Although to be fair Steele never made the bloopers that Pears and Leo do. -

Broughton will no doubt get all the blame for that in his role as convenient head rolling scapegoat. -
Now for the meat on the bones... Commercial performance and gates up due to better performance on the pitch (the main key to everything and something you never achieve by the way we operate). Season tickets up on the back of that and the 20 quid early bird discount, commercial stuff maybe from up front payments from sponsorship/owners. Best season ever in the Championship was always going to lead to an increase in crowds and the cup run and tv money boosted income on several levels. So really those figures are the exception to the rule and i doubt this season just gone's figures will be as impressive and are more reflective of the real world Ewood operation, discounting player sales obviously.

The fact they felt they had to bring a DoF in just so we could give contracts to youth players shows how piss poor in fact downright disasterus Waggot and the shadow MDs running of the club is. Anybody praising him for that is a bit naive it's a given at most clubs whatever model they operate it's basic bread and butter stuff. And that isn't a dig at Broughton it's again highlighting what a pathetic ###### runs this club but hes covered his arse now with all the sales paying the bills. -

Hirst didn't fit JDTs style even if he had got off to a better start it was another misguided signing but to be fair they probably just wanted him to replace Gallys place in the squad eventually. He'd do well under Eustace imo but at Ipswich he had another good striker to play off and good service around him it was all set up for his type to thrive, unlike here. A club with a real plan and everyone pulling in the right direction, polar opposite in fact to this joke of a club. -

Easy to lay blame for just about everything on him now that he is going out the door, almost like he's the latest sacrificial lamb to cover over the continuing shit show above him, eh Stevie. -
Waggot has a plan. Continue cutting costs and selling players, bring in your mates, squeeze the remaining hardcore to the hilt, protect the owners and the shadow MD, finish 4th bottom. Another 300k nearer retirement.

He'll be coming back from injury so we are stuck with each other and despite his flaws he has scored a few and assisted a few. Not many others we can point to in this squad with similar so to us in this current state he remains a bit of a luxury because he clearly has capabilities. -

Ave number of home fans this season is just 41 under 13k, ave away support at Ewood 2624 - sure there was a debate about that and some assumed it was higher.... oh wait that was dingle telling me every team brings 3.5 to 7k..... Ave Rovers away following 1326 which is bigger than a few other strugglers with much bigger home gates. Its been a real competitive season in terms of crowd numbers home and away this year but ours haven't been so bad by our standards given the shite on the pitch and the complete nonsense off it. From one of the smallest towns in the div we actually remain one of the better supported pound for pound, could and should be bigger if only there was 1 ounce of brains and ambition in that Ewood boardroom. -
Doubt he'll restrict them this season the clown will be rolling out the red carpet, same for Bolton if they get up. That's probably 9 points we'll chuck away at Ewood already although i think Eustace will have more appreciation and understanding of derbies than JDT.
